very poor for the cost

First i would like to say, that compared with our last, which was brilliant . this time around i almost walked out. the staff were friendly but kept asking other staff advice, which seem to me very unprofessional, plus our room had been changes because a leak , my friend had to sleep on a put you bed, i was not happy with this, then the breakfast which was of poor quality, in the end i just left the plate full of food and it was cold, we had breakfast at 07.30, they did offer5 a refund of £50.00 really not good enough. i loved the veranda over looking the river which i had booked for, but i will really have to think about staying again.

Nice hotel in reading

Love the location next to the river. Very nice to have the spa and gym facilities that were super. Specially the gym was a nice surprise. Loved the restaurant and outdoor area. Rooms were clean and nice size.

The swimming pool The part refunded after telling reception out misfortune.

The lift shutting on me. THE NOISE THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT. Banging chattering shouting. The breakfast. Should have gone for non cooked.

The location of the bedroom as in front of the window is a large tree and many insects so we couldn't open the window for fresh air. We found insects in the room. Spiders and other insects

Great location, very pleasant staff and comfortable bedroom

Breakfast below 4* hotel standard. Advised run out of fresh bread! Poor selection of fruit. Not for first time one of two coffee machines not working. General lack of checking on replenishing. Delays in removing finished food from our table.

Not good we where on are honeymoon

The gym and swimming pool, however the spa jazzi was closed

The fact I couldn't pay at the bar with a £50.00 note even though they had lots of change in the till, they said it company policy, however nothing in there policy regarding £50.00 notes?

Thanks to harry! The breakfast was nice too. Alot of options and the staff were happy to warm milk

Harry was amazing. I rang to say i arrived early and i had a distressed baby and if he could get me a room earlier. He was sooo nice over the phone and told me to make my way down. Once i got to the hotel, he was very accomodating and got me my room. Towards the evening he even put a sofe bed on for us! Such a lovely person! He made our experience worth while! Thank u to Harry!

Lovely staff and great location. Hotel is good value for money.

The staff were lovely! Very accommodating and happy to help. Bed also very comfortable and everything was clean. Only a 5-10 minute walk from the train station so perfect location for us.

The self service, the price I paid was not worth it to be honest I definitely overpaid for staying in the crowne plaza I was expecting alot more and overall I wasn't happy about the location itself it was not maintained well and I felt when we checked in it was not IHG standards

Lots of free extras available, safe, parking, iron, fridge, tea/coffee, pool, gym, razor, sewing kit

I loved the pool and gym. Great not having to prebook. It was also convenient having shampoo, conditioner and hand soap in the rooms, gym showers etc. There was a safe, iron and ironing board, fridge, hair-dryer and tea/coffee station, refilled daily. A sewing kit and shaver/shaving cream was given for free if you forgot to bring these items (a note was left in the room to inform you). You could also control the air-conditioning and there was a heated towel rack in the bathroom. We didn't pay any extra for the sofa-bed either.

The receptionist didn't know if breakfast had vegan options, said she could ask the next morning, but breakfast would cost 16 pounds instead of 9. We went to a lovely breakfast bar opposite the hotel (Gorge's). The door was automatically blocked at noon on our last day even though we had arranged late check-out. We had to go down to reception to re-code it, which wasn't a problem, just inconvenient.

Although parking is extra as clearly advertised, proximity & lot size was ideal.

Staff superb. Lots of plugs for chargers in room. Fresh granary bread ,Swiss cheese, ham and mushrooms at breakfast.

The artificial maple syrup. 100% real Canadian Maple syrup would have added a touch of quality to the breakfast.

Great hotel.

Nice location, very close to the town centre. We left our car in the car park at the hotel and walked. We were in a room with a balcony, we could see the river. Our bed was so comfy. The gym was great. The swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi was amazing. Breakfast was delicious.

Great hotel, fair rate parking, great stuff, I do recommend.

Large room, good breakfast, friendly stuff' good value for money. 20 minutes walk from city center.

The beds are a little softer then I like.

Pleasant

Staff were very nice and helpful. One side of the hotel faced the river. Lovely walk along the river.

Found blood stains on our duvet. Exchanged it for a single quilt inside a king size cover instead of a king size duvet. Not everything available on the menu. Very noisy due to traffic.

Pillows were dirty and when we arrived we were told that we couldn't have the double we'd booked as the hotel was overbooked so we had to have two singles instead.
