Location was good in relation to central areas, rooms were adequate and food was excellent. Thriving bar and restaurant area.
Lift took ages to get to third floor.

Breakfast was great ( croissants, coffee, orange juice, toasts, yogurt with granola, fruit salad and cheese and tomato).
Our room was in a corner so we had corner windows, with the maritime view, excellent.
Large sitting area open until 12:30 with board games.
Weather was dreadful for July, the rest was beyond our expectations.

Very quirky hotel in keeping with its traditional past. Nice outside terrace and good food.

The location by the lake. Images don’t make enough of the views.
No air con in the rooms. I’m not used to checking for this as at this price point, would expect it.
Bedroom needs a full length mirror.

Location, seemed to become Amsterdam's beach in the hot weather. Cool decor. Good value for the city. Right next to open water swimming area.

I liked the staff, the meals in the dining room, the beautiful view from the room. I liked the comfortable bed. I liked sitting outside on the terrace. I liked everything! Anytime I am in Amsterdam, I will stay there.
Absolutely nothing. It was delightful

tricky to find but once you do, it’s wonderful: a former officers’ mess from the sixties filled with plants and retro furniture, tucked away next to the maritime museum. great beds, great coffee, delicious breakfast with home-made bread, lovely people
minor points: it’s a little hard to find and the parking is a little way away from the hotel

Meals were excellent - both breakfast and dinner. Location was a fine balance between easily accessible but far enough from the hustle and bustle of the nightlife scene. The room served its purpose - bed and bathroom.
Nothing comes to mind. Overall, had an enjoyable stay.

The location was fantastic and the views from the bar & breakfast room incredible. The staff were all friendly and very helpful.
The mini safe didn’t work

This is a gem in the city of Amsterdam. It’s perfect location, bus stop just right outside, and anyone fancies a walk - takes only 20-25 mins to the Central station. The hotel is really cool! I stayed in a room facing the water and it was just beautiful! Staff were nice, friendly and helpful. They have a brewery which does homemade beer - SO GOOD!
Pretty much nothing except that I wished I could’ve stayed longer

Staff friendly. Located just off the hussle and bussle yet in the heart of the city. Clean and tidy. Food was good.
Although Amy the hotel cat was a nice cat..I felt her jumping on the breakfast table was a bit much. Other than that a great stay and will be back.

Everyone working at Pension Homeland was friendly and helpful. The room, especially the bed, was very comfortable. The location is great - 20 minutes walk from Central Station - but in a quiet park next by the waterside. The food in the restaurant is excellent and the hotel has its own brewery!

The crew was very kind and helpful.
The room was cosy and the bed really confortable.
The breakfast, dinner & cocktails were incredible.
They are plenty of possibilities to play some games like chess or billiard.
The history behind the hotel was really interesting.
Only 20 minutes by feet to the center and the central station.

Super friendly, funny and helpful staff..large clean bathroom and very good location.
The electric cable of my lamp looked a bit sketchy and could be replaced. The divider of my shower didn't really made a lot of sense and was waaaaay too small..after each shower the bathroom was pretty much completely flooded..very annoying.

easy to get around on foot for some restaurants. able to get an Uber or ride bikes as well.
Guy initially was pretty rude and arguing with a lot of other people. we didn’t see him the rest of the time. we also were supposed to get a room with a canal view and ended up getting a small room looking at a running track.

Interesting location, accommodations are pretty spartan, but it adds to the charm.
The mural in the room is a nice touch to keep it fresh.
Next to that, the view is pretty nice, looking over the VOC ship, navy outdoor swimming area, NEMO museum etc.
The restaurant is pretty good as well, and the bar is quite cozy, had a nice atmosphere, and friendly staff.
Elevator was the slowest elevator I've ever seen, which makes it almost an attraction you do just once.
There was a bit of a crack in the window though, and didn't quite see where you could adjust the temperature in the rooms.

it is so picturesque, warm and comfortable. The staff were an absolute delight including those on night shift traditionally the grave yard shift.
it would be a harsh critic to find much fault here.

The vibe of the place. We were lucky to have a room with such a good view. Small rooms but enough to move around it and be comfortable.
Lacks of exhaust in the bathroom. The windows too should be weatherproof, it's too thin and it's starting to condensate and ends up wet near it.
