A great, authentic, stay.

The host was incredible! So knowledgable about the local area, recommended a great spot for lunch and organised a canoe tour for us. He then helped us navigate the local unused for our onward journey to munnar. 100% recommend if you’re backpacking.

Séjour très agréable

L’hôte (Jibu) est incroyablement gentil et serviable. Il se tient disponible pour toute requête, il est toujours de bon conseil et peut organiser des activités sur demande. Un amour ! Les chambres sont spacieuses et disposent d’une bonne qualité de wifi.

Excellent guesthouse & host

Jibu is an amazing host, he really went above and beyond to show me around and help me out with everything, very kind. I definitely recommend going on the canoe tour he offers to organise, it's a much more authentic experience than going on a houseboat, and much cheaper too. The room is very spacious and clean, and great location close to the centre and the beach. Highly recommend, thank you Jibu!

Fantastic

Jibu is the best host you could wish for. He was so accommodating with everything and a lovely person to talk with. The hostel is really cute and in a great location to get around. Jibu helped me to arrange a day trip on the backwaters, which I really enjoyed. The room cost was very affordable and I had a balcony to relax. I would highly recommend this to all travellers. Thanks so much Jibu.

Jibu is a very kind and professional person. His Abru’s Holiday is a good spot, between the beach and the backwater side of Alleppey. Very good advices and helpful to organize our trip of 2 days in Alleppey (Kayaking and silent paddle boat trip and good time chilling).

Good value but should be cleaner

Jibu was a fantastic host he made sure we had everything we needed for our stay and booked our backwater trip for us and gave us good restaurant recommendations. The room was spacious and stayed surprisingly cool despite only using a fan. The location is good half way between the beach and city. Very good value for money for Allepey.

The property definitely needs more cleaning, there was a lot of dust around the windows and outside the property there is a lot of litter from previous guests. The mat outside the bathroom was full of dirt and sand so we couldn’t use it.

I had a very nice stay here. Jibu is very friendly and gave me tips about where to go in the area. The room was big and comfortable with a terrace.

10 /10 host!

Close proximity to the train station, the room was spacious, clean and comfortable but our host, Jibu, is what really made our stay so wonderful - such a kind, welcoming, friendly man and very interesting to talk to. We booked late and Jibu had an appointment but he rushed back to the guesthouse to make sure it was clean and ready for us. When we left, my boyfriend forgot some of his clothes which had been drying outside but Jibu kept them safe for us and even met us at Alleppey station a few days later to drop them off. We were even treated to a complimentary massage by Jibu, a professional masseuse. We are very grateful to Jibu for arranging a canoeing trip through the backwaters of Allepey. We were picked up by a tuk tuk, taken to the ferry port, dropped off at a little village for a delicious breakfast, and later lunch, and taken on a canoe ride through the narrow canals which the larger houseboats can't fit through. A wonderful way to catch a glimpse of local life which we wouldn't have known how to arrange without Jibu. One of the highlights of our trip so far!

A few mosquitos outside so just make sure you wear bug spray if you are sitting out in the evening. Room was bug free though 🙂

Very nice host

The guest house is in a very central location, near the beach and just 5 minutes with tuktuk from the most important temples and shopping miles. Jibu is the very best host, he is really nice and gave us many useful informations for traveling in India and arranged trips for us. Jibu made the stay really nice, we give him 10 points for his attention. Thank you Jibu!

The handle of the ventilator inside and outside was broken, so we only could use it on full speed.

The owner is super nice and organised the backwater tour for us. He was being very responsive and flexible about late check in as well. Also gave lots of recommendations for local restaurants etc. We had a good experience here.

If you are in Allepey then Abru’s is the place to stay. Well-appointed, comfortable rooms in a great location. Jibu, the host, is unbelievably friendly and will look after you very well, providing anything that you may need. He may even show you around the villages or to some secret spots, if you are lucky! Without a doubt the loveliest host I have had in India!

Nice stay near Alappuzha beach!

The room was very spacious with a large bed. It was overall comfortable and conveniently located near the beach and about 20 minutes walk to the town centre. The host was lovely and present to answer any query, supporting to arrange tours and recommending places to visit, restaurants etc.

PERFECT stay with a AMAZING host!

AMAZING STAY! Right from the moment we checked in when we didn’t have change for the Tuk Tuk and Jibu leant us money to pay. The room was great, nice shower, good bed and lots of space and seating area on the balcony area. Great recommendations from Jibu for places to eat and visit etc. Also a complimentary massage which was a lovely touch! Jibu was in contact with us to check our stay was going well and we had everything we needed. Great location not far from beach and near restaurants and 20 mins walking to the centre of the town if you need to go there. Would highly recommend staying here!

We left a glasses case, but Jibu offered to bring it to Kochi for us when he comes here. Such a nice man.

Amazing Value- would recommend to any budget travellers.

The owner is so helpful and will go above and beyond to make your stay as lovely as possible. He recommended places to go, organiser trips, even drove us to a wine store. He also gave free massages as part of our stay and says he does this for all guests.Honestly the best hospitality we have experienced in India- and it’s been great so far. Thank you so much

We arrived to Abru's holidays at noon even when we wrote that we will come in the evening. We did not have a chance to write to the owner so we just came and his neighbour called him. So he did not have our room ready but he offered us another one. I really appreciate as he helped us to book the backwaters kayaking trip, recommended really good restaurant and the next day he helped us with getting a sim cards. It was really good accomodation for that price.

I didn't like that there were ants (not at the beggining when the room was cleaned, but then there were few of them) The light outside was not working, but it is easy to fix and then the towels had a weird smell.

Jibu is a very nice guy who really cares about his visitors. He organized everything for us and made sure we are doing well. He even gave us an discount at the end when we extended our stay. From the backwater tours to eating at night and taking us to the villages close to Allepey. We were happy to stay there.

if I am being honest, the room could need an update and the bathroom could really use a deep clean. but we did not spend much time in the room anyways.

Very good

The location was pretty good and Jibu was extremely helpful. Overall for India it was a good stay!

The room is quite old and needs freshening up with new bedding/towels. The bathroom needs a deep clean, scrub of the walls, behind the sink and under the toilet etc. A bin in the bedroom and a light for getting upstairs in the dark would be helpful too (I tripped over a broom that had been left outside and quite badly hurt my knee!)

Great service and value for money.

The property was conveniently located for easy tuk tuk rides to both the train station and the bus station, and was walking distance to a fair few restaurants and the beach. The host in particular was fantastic and went out of his way to help us arrange day trips and even went so far as to go to the bus station to check the schedule for us - really outstanding service.

The bed linens weren’t very fresh (they smelled a bit musty) and the bed was not very comfortable. We were also told there would be laundry facilities and then on arrival we found out that all laundry facilities were third party offsite businesses and could take up to a week.

Abru's Holidays is the place to go for a comfortable, well located, well connected, reasonably priced, and well managed stay in Alleppey. The room is spacious with comfortable beds and either a porch or balcony to enjoy the good weather. From Abru's, the beach is just a short ten-minute walk, and you can walk to most parts of the town within twenty minutes. The street on which Abru's is located is quiet and not heavily trafficked; you will have peace in your room and on the balcony/porch. Good wifi is important for me and during my six-night stay, I enjoyed the use of strong, reliable wifi, except during a short area-wide outage. Jibu, your host, is very easy to contact and will respond positively should you have any questions or problems. He is an outstanding, responsible host who speaks excellent English. I would definitely stay here again.

Great value for money, spacious room in a good central location, friendly and helpful host!

The room was very spacious, very big bed, good location close to the beach, central Alleppey and the famous canals. The host, Jibu, was also really friendly and helpful. The room was great value for money!

A/C didn’t seem to work, quite a lot of mosquitoes were able to get into the room, could do with some new bedding and towels.

Jibu is great guy, very helpful - there's no impossible things for him :) our stay in Alleppey was better thanks to his tips. Canoeing trip around backwaters was really nice Location is very good, nice neighborhood with trees:)

Nice host and affordable

Nice veranda to hang out on and a very friendly host.

The bedroom itself was clean and nice, but the surrounding areas and bathroom was not at the same level.
