Loved our stay. Lovely property with great decks and river access.

My children and my grandchildren loved staying at Camille House. Very comfortable stay on the River!
We all enjoyed swimming and kayaking from the dock.

Our family of 8 stayed. Water is deep and wonderful. The place is good sized with 5 bedrooms. The downstairs has 2 bdrms, 3 upstairs. Tv & game area is downstairs. I found the downstairs beds too soft for me, as I like a really firm bed. Great time at the river was had by all.

The house had everything that you could possibly want. From coffee maker, grinder, plenty of dishes/glasses, plenty of towels, 5 kayaks, a canoe, life vests and anything else you could think of. There was plenty of options to sit, relax and enjoy. It’s on the quieter part of the river…a couple of miles from Guernville. Really enjoyable week!

Three generations gathered here for a fun family reunion. Funky house with lots of character, nooks, and levels. It was nice because we had our own “spaces.” Great access to the river and so nice that there were kayaks for us to enjoy! Arthur was very attentive to our needs. The hot tub was dirty when we arrived and he came by right away to address this so we could enjoy it. Very nice man! The only thing was that there were areas of the house that weren’t very clean (windows, some floors). But main cooking area and linens, toilets were clean. Just a heads up- great for a family gathering but careful with elderly guests as there are lots of stairs and uneven areas. Overall we had a great time and would consider this home again in the future.

We booked Arthur’s place for several nights because we were attending a wedding. We had multiple families in every single age group with us and the house was big enough that no one ever felt cramped. My mother uses a walker but did well with the stairs (Arthur was kind enough to share his personal experience with that which comforted our concerns). The bottom floor felt like it was new carpet as well as fairly new couches. Tons of board games, books and some toys for the kids to play with. He also had a pack & play and a baby gate which we utilized for the spiral staircase (we couldn’t figure out how to set it up so we just used tiny bungee cords we had but I’m sure a quick call to Arthur could have remedied that). The canoe and kayaks were fantastic. Read Arthur’s tips in his binder regarding that. Definitely came in handy since the river wasn’t dammed yet. We made some great memories here.
Arthur is a great host. Before our trip he answered every question I had very quickly. It was always a pleasure chatting with him. His instructions on the ins and outs of his home were detailed and I loved how he labeled everything. I literally had no questions about anything while we were there. If you have AT&T or TMobile be prepared to be unplugged. You have no service but thankfully Arthur’s Wi-Fi was strong all the way up to the 1st floor deck- make sure to turn on Wi-Fi calling.
We will definitely book again once the river is dammed. Thank you again Arthur!

Our family had an amazing time here. So much space in the house so that everyone could spread out. The sunroom was incredible and you can open the skylights for air when it gets warm. The backyard is big and perfect for playing lawn games and although we did not use the kayaks, what a plus to have those available at no extra cost! River access is right down the street in addition to the small dock on the property. We enu our walks around the neighborhood too. Arthur was friendly and kept in great touch with us. It was the perfect stay, thank you!

Communication was great with the property owner both before we arrived and during our stay. The house was perfect for our extended family. Lots of room to spread out and it was nice to have extra space. Even though it was very rainy while we were there we enjoyed the setting and the view of the river. We made all our meals and the kitchen was well stocked. The only suggestion for the kitchen is to have sharper knives and a coffee grinder would be nice. The property would benefit from a deep cleaning

We had a wonderful time for our first verbo experience. The house was big enough for all 10 of us. The number of living rooms, bedrooms and beds, hot tub, games, BBQ grill, patio dinning were all enjoyed.

I rented Camellia House for a group of nine women coming from around the country for a long wine tasting weekend in November. I was attracted to the property by its location in Sonoma County along the Russian River and because of its size, which could accommodate all of us without anyone having to share a bed. In summary, it was a great property for us for those reasons, although anyone using it to its full capacity should be aware of a couple of things.
The weather was cold when we were there and the house, which is fairly old, can be chilly. The bathrooms are definitely on the cold side (a space heater helps), but the hot water works. The house heats up fast, but a couple of areas - the futon on the sun porch and the separate back bedroom - may also need the space heaters to make them warm. I stayed in the back bedroom and I turned on the space heater a bit before I went to bed and it got pretty toasty. The outside half bath, however, is mostly unheated.
The home is completely functional, but has not had a recent renovation and the decor and amenities are utilitarian, so those seeking luxury accommodations may wish to look elsewhere. For those who want relatively comfortable accommodations with reasonable amenities, however, this could be a good fit.
The sunporch is very useful when the weather isn't great for sitting on the deck!
We didn't use the kayaks because it was raining when we were there and the river was very dry, so I can't comment on the water sports. Same for the hot tub.
The host is very accommodating and answered all my questions prior to the trip.
We didn't end up spending a lot of time in the town of Guerneville itself, mostly because the restaurants were not open at convenient times. The Safeway grocery store, however, was very easy to get to, and we brought food back to the house. We did have a nice lunch at the Korbel winery (although we didn't visit the winery itself) and visited the Taco food truck in the parking lot of the grocery store.
Guerneville is however a very good location for visiting wineries, redwoods (Armstrong Woods State Nature Reserve is right in town), and the beach (it's not a long drive to Sonoma Coast State Park). We did not drive ourselves to the wineries (we used Grapeline Tours), but everything we wanted to visit on our own was close.

The highlights of the house is the private access to the river in the back, although it's a bit steep at the very end so just be careful getting in.
The deck was also great. We spent a good amount of time grilling and hanging out there. The hot tub was also very nice for when it gets chilly. We saw a ton of stars at night from the deck.
The 3rd bathroom was locked so we couldn't access it. It would have been nice since one of the bathrooms inside the house is between 2 bedrooms and not easily accessible for people not in the bedrooms.
Other than that we had a great time. Would rent again.

Arthur was very communicative before during and after the stay. All very positive. The house is right on the river and has a certain amount of River Funkiness which we really enjoyed. The layout is not conventional, but our group really found it to work well. Seems like an impossible number of bedrooms but they all felt quite adequate. Not fancy, but it was just what we needed. Overall, the price was reasonable and so an excellent value. We would stay there again, no question.

Nice riverfront near Vacation Beach. Plenty of room for our 7 people. But -- no cable or satellite TV. Rather, a Samsung TV with multiple apps (Netflix, etc.) that all required either a subscription or one-time payment. No local channels for sports or news. Various issues in the house including a shower door that would not close, refrigerator that would not cool properly, light fixtures that did not work properly. The host is very responsive to questions, and we recommend that you contact him to see if these issues have been corrected.

The house is perfect - lots of room and areas to socialise in. The garden is pretty with lots of outdoor seating areas in and out of the sun. River access is at the bottom of the garden. We spent many happy hours each day swimming, canoeing and fishing.

Arthur was a great host - very responsive and flexible. Although the kitchen and living room were a bit small for our group, we did most of our living in the amazing backyard area. The decks, and grassy area were amazing, plenty of tables/chairs for our dinner meet ups. We took full advantage of the kayaks/floating doc area. I think we used every inch of the back yard, and there is a LOT of it. Very nice stay - thank you!

The location is great, right on the river, as described. Everybody loved their stay, we'd definitely come back.
Arthur was also an excellent host, he went out of his way to help us retrieve the camera a guest had forgotten at the property. Thanks!

We had a relaxing and fun stay at the Camelia House. There were 6 adults and 3 kids and we had plenty of room. The kids and adults enjoyed playing in the River and using the kayaks and canoe. The owner was responsive and replaced a broken coffee maker as soon as we notified him. I would definitely stay here again

Everything you could ask for in one place
My family can't wait to visit again. It's like a personalized resort, no need to go anywhere else. The Russian River right behind the house, hot tub, bbq, large grassy area, beautiful home. We all came together, bonded, celebrated a birthday. My grandchildren wanted to stay. It's a close proximity to the Redwoods and the Ocean. We all loved Camilla house

This is a well maintained property in a lovely setting.
The kitchen was fully equipped with anything a cook would want, with high end utensils and cutlery. There were generous amounts of towels and blankets. The host was extremely helpful and available. The amenities were top notch. We really enjoyed the property .
