The hotel was in a nice historic building and the staff are friendly

Getting to town is difficult other than by the hotel car.

The place

No public transport close by. The only bus was not regular. We have to walk a lot from the tourist place. The dinner menu was okay but limited. The second time, we did not know what else to ask for

Lovely hotel, full of character and charm, but distanced from sightseeing.

The pool was small but clean, nice and private surrounded by deliciously smelling vegetation. We felt very lucky to have had this facility in the Sicilian heat while travelling with children. The ambience and decor of the whole hotel was wonderfully atmospheric and the staff were very accommodating. Their free shuttles into the city centre and to the private beach were a wonderful bonus.

The facilities were a bit 3-star, rather than 4, but they were adequate. The drinks and food were expensive, but not much more so than in any other tourist place in the area... the problem was that there is not a lot of things to do in the area they are in, and though this was well known to us before our trip, we did not quite understand that the shuttles were as limited as they were in availability and that taxis would be so expensive. Breakfast was lovely in the sense that the food was served in a lovely room and there was plenty of it, but it was a bit disappointing in the lack of variety and freshness.

Good price

The personel in the hotel is very proffesional, helpfull and always smiling. I also appreciated the architecture and the interior design of the main building.

We got a room with very nice view and tarrace however it was beyond the reach of the wifi - this was reported more than once however nothing could be done except to change our room. The bathrooms were very poorly cleaned and rooms are not maintained properly - falling of skirtings, some of the tiles in the bathroom missing, jets in the thub not working... There was no stuff like pen and paper, needles and things that are usually provided in a 4 star hotel. The view from the breakfast area is stunning however the breakfast itsefl is exactly the same everyday - the only warm food is scrambled eggs made of powder and some sausages. The only thing worth appreciation is the personel and the coffee which was amazing.

Our flight was cancelled, and had to get one a day later, tried to move our booking with villa del bosco we were told someone would get back to us, eventually we got a reply saying they couldn’t move our booking, by the time I got the reply they wouldn’t issue a refund. Even though when I checked online they still had enough space for the day we wanted. I found this entirely unfair.

Disappointieted, old,Dirty carpeted stairs and smelly room

The staff was very cooperative. Breakfast was good.

very old property very dirty carpet and floors that you get dust allergy easily there room was so smelly open windows caused mosquito bites, sunlight, and rain. Dirty couch The washbasin was dirty. The bathroom was just so-so. We booked it, especially for the pool . On Booking.com they didn't mention that the pool is closed but on arrival, we were told that the pool is closed which was very disappointing for my kids.

Very good

The interior of the hotel is very beautiful. Also the 2nd floor balcony has great view of Mt Etna and the coastline. Restaurant offers very tasty meals with a reasonable price. Being outside of the city center makes it a good base for car trips around Catania.

Without car/taxi is a little bit hard to reach the hotel from the city center.

Excellent staff let down by poor facilities- not really a 4-star hotel

The staff are really excellent- very pleasant and helpful. The shuttle to the beach and centre.

The location is difficult if you don't have a car. The buses are unreliable and walking to town is dangerous because of the big road and crazy drivers. It's a residential area, and there's nowhere to really go in the evenings. The pool is quite small and is in a hole- doesn't have views. The decking around the pool seems dirty. Hundreds of flies. The restaurant menu could be better. The breakfast is just about adequate. I can't really understand why there isn't more fresh fruit at breakfast! It's available and inexpensive. Show off your Sicilian produce!! The wifi is spotty to say the least- we couldn't get it for long periods of time in the newer wing of the hotel. I'm not sure how this hotel got its 4 stars.

Lovely hotel and wonderful staff at the reception.

The staff were incredibly nice and very helpful.

The breakfast was ok, but when I think about how good the Italians are at baking actual bread, I thought it was very sad to get completely white flat toast bread from the factory. There are an incredible number of pastries for breakfast, and I would have appreciated more different cheeses and good baker's bread.

Enjoable stay at very unique property

We enjoyed property design and style - it's really fantastic and feels genuine. We truly enjoyed breakfasts and food at the restaurant. Attentive and friendly hotel staff (reception, bar, cleaning service), very high level of service. Special thanks to Pani Izabella who was exceptionally nice and attentive during breakfasts. I don't recall seeing such a professional and nice hotel employee in a lifetime. Swimming pool is nice as well, though could be open longer.

We learned a shuttle to beach will not be provided during our stay (to start later) only after arriving at property. Unfortunately, public transportation is not reliable at all with buses being either 10-15 mins late or not arriving at all. Reaching beach without shuttle, car or taxi is a nightmare.

Good choice for our needs

I travelled with a 7 yo Son and stayed for the evening to get to the airport early. The Lady at the front desk was efficient and welcoming, the hotel is nice and the design is very nice. Morning breakfast and the Staff at the cafe / restaurant during morning service were excellent and helpful (and the view beautiful).

Pushing through cars parked outside with our luggage was a challenge

Nice for a stay in Catania

The hotel staff was always very friendly and helpful. Although the breakfast buffet was surely more orientated towards sweeter tastes with a variety of cakes and pastries, there were also ham, cheese and baguette so everybody could find something and enjoy their morning cappuccino with a view over Catania.

The hotel's location is a bit out of the way, but as there are many bus stops nearby, that should not really be a problem. From the hotel it is about half an hour bus ride to Catania Central Station and about an hour bus ride to the airport.
