We had a lovely room with everything you needed including a mini bar. Fantastic bathroom and very comfortable bed. Breakfast was brilliant and freshly made and with a great choice. Friendly welcoming staff. We will definitely stay here again.

This is a little gem in a great location, comfortable and immaculate which is run by a little gem called Jude supported by a little gem called Mel. 🤩 The hotel rooms are like the gift that keeps giving, don’t ask me just book and see for yourself 😀 The breakfast is probably the best I have had and I have stayed in many a hotel. Jude and Mel cannot do enough for you and their attention to detail is second to none. Would we return? ….try and stop us 😍
Well I have sat and looked at this question for about 3 hours 🤣🤣 and I’m sorry there is nothing to not like 💥😀

The home cooked breakfast was excellent - they went out of their way to serve lovely honest food and they couldn't of been more helpful to accomodate your needs. It was a very characterful Inn close to all the amenities and restaurants of Dartmouth.
I couldn't complain about anything.

It was quaint and quirky, everything about our stay was exceptional from all the faculties, room etc , a lot of thought has been put into what makes a stay comfortable .

We thoroughly loved our 3 nights stay at the Ship in Dock Inn. Our room although small was very comfortable. There was a fully stocked bar fridge, tea and coffee making facilities.
Great shower and the bed was extremely comfortable.
Breakfast had a number of choices. We loved the fresh fruit and yoghurt to start with.
We had a great dinner in the restaurant also which was very tasty. I particularly loved the fish and chips! My husband had the chicken tikka and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Jude, Peter and the team were very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay a great one.
We thoroughly recommend this establishment!
Just a few minutes walk into the heart of Dartmouth.
There wasn't anything that we didn't like

Lovely room and breakfast was very nice
Noisy outside of room with window open. Sounded like a generator all night.
When booking said there would be a parking permit from 4pm for the nearest carpark. When checked in at 4.was advised that they stopped the permits and I should of received an email. I hadn't received any email. Paid for an additional 2hrs aknuntil could park outside hotel. Need to update booking.com info

Everything, Mel our breakfast lady was exceptional. Always smiling and nothing was too much trouble.
Their sign was absolutely true 'A little pub with a big welcome'.
Parking was a bit of a mission. No longer supplying a free parking pass due to cost. Totally understandable. If you cannot park in the main public car park then you have to move your car every 2 hours up to 6pm. This didn't spoil our visit.

Fabulous! A warm welcome, comfortable bed, fresh clean linen, home from home comforts and a great breakfast! - highly recommended.

Attention to detail was noticeable. Lots of little touches like electric toothbrush charger on bathroom wall!
Noise from febeeator outside in park was constant. Not something the place could alter. Not preventing sleep but an irritant.

Breakfast fine, nothing remakable, but not happy to be told we had 8.15 slot only on first morning....too early for us! Actually managed to change it as didnt want cooked.
Basically this was quite a small ordinary room above a pub. It felt a bit worn and there was a background smell of fried food. We paid £165/night inc breakfast. About £100 would have been plenty for this offering

Perfect location for Dartmouth. Right at the Dart with lovely views from the room at the river. A 5-minutes walk to the centre and its restaurants and shops. Looking back and knowing the town a little bit, I would say, I would book it defintely again, when in town. Hosts are terrific and caring, the rooms are decorated and equipped with lots of love for details, I found even a little toothbrush in the drawers. Theres also a mini-frifge in the room and some snacks for free.
Breakfast is a typical english one. There`s a pub downstairs, but it is not always open and closes early (9pm), so no guest has to worry about noises. For a later arrival dinner (8.30) I went to the Floating Bridge, a really nice pub, 3 minutes away, which has longer opening times. As I day trip in Dartmouth I would recommend a 2-3 hours walk along the river Dart, beginning close to the railway station, and running along the tracks the first 20 minutes, to Agathy Christys former residence "Greenway House", cross with the ferry to Dittisham, enjoy a drink, a pizza in the lovely pub "FBI" there, with views on the river (awesome funny staff!) and ride back with a cruise to Dartmouth in the late afternoon.
A lot of reviews focuses on parking. The Ship In is offering a free parking permit, which is awsome, but the challenge is though, you still have to find a free spot on the public parking spaces, only five walking minutes away from the hotel. I followed the advice of the hotel, to arrive a little bit later, at a time of a day, when the day tourists have left town. Best after 5pm. Perfect advice! I arrived a little bit later, at 8pm on a sunday in June there were loads of free spaces, I was very relieved.

Very imaginative interior design
The bar and restaurant were closed on arrival on Sunday evening. This was not made clear when the booking was cofirmed but they did recommend a good pub nearby.
