Very good hotel with very good staff specially Jackson

The staff were cool and gentil. The room was good and clean. The location of the hotel is perfect. I recommande Jackson who works in the hotel he can help you with everything.

A well-located hotel with pool and beautiful rooftop restaurant

Central location. Lovely pool. Beautiful building - amazing views from 4th floor rooftop restaurant. Great authentic Zanzibari breakfast options. We loved the chickpea curry, banana in coconut sauce and roti. Other breakfast options such as cereal and pastries were also available. Staff were very helpful.

Both of our rooms smelt a bit musty / of cigarette smoke. Slightly pricy but this will be driven by the hotel's location.

Exceptional

For a boutique hotel in Stone Town, it was a pleasant stay. The view from the rooftop restaurant is nice over the ocean albeit it's partially blocked by the containers of the seaport. There's a grocery store in the next building and a currency exchange office. If you're checking out early before breakfast time, you can ask for a breakfast box to be prepared for you. But you have to request it the night before your check out. The receptionists are awesome! They're very friendly and helpful. We forgot an item that we remembered while in the airport, and the receptionist (Iman) was kind enough to ship it to our next hotel in Dar Es Salaam.

Great place to stay for a few nights. location close to the city centre and the ferries and the beach. Value for money

Location is perfect and a walking distance to everything you need in Stone Town. Basic facilities are ideal and quite clean.

No reading table. Couldn't work from the room. But I guess this only matters if you're here for work!

the manager said he didn’t receive the money they sent from UK to the bank account he gave me. the bank in UK confirmed that golden tulip boutique hotel has received the money but the manager denied it.

Very good

The hotel designs were so touchy and have got this calming effect that really easy my mind. It really met my expectations. Swimming pool was clean and staffs were approachable.

Disappointing

The location was good

This was not worth the money we paid. Run down and poor service e.g. Hardly any food available for breakfast and very disorganised staff. We will not be revisiting Golden Tulip in the future.

Good location

Requested take away breakfast as we had early flight, did not receive it. Requested an iron was told laundry opens after 7 am, yet we needed to be out by 6 am. Rooms were OK, fair. Beds not very comfortable.
