We arrived a bit earlier than the check-in time and called Pedro. He came right away, gave us the keys, and explained everything we needed to know.

It was hot because there was no air condition

In summary, a nice stay with great service and location, but improvements in maintenance and cleanliness are needed.

Overall, I had a good stay. I appreciated the option to leave luggage before check-in, the kind and helpful host, and the availability of coffee, tea, and basic supplies like toilet paper. The location is very convenient, though a bit noisy due to street traffic. Neighbors were quiet and respectful.

On the downside, there was mold on the wall, the bathroom is very small (especially the shower), and some maintenance issues need attention, such as a loose door handle and a broken toilet paper holder. The furniture also looked worn.

Dont believe the good reviews, there is mold, dirt, and hair on the matress from previous guests

Nothing. Dont believe the good reviews ! Booking will not help you also as the property is handling the payments! Carefull ! The appartment had a huge water damage and mold. When i called the Host, they just told me there will be no new water comming and that they did not fix it due to insurance reasons. So they knew about this damage and still decided to keep the calendar open for booking. There was hair on the mattress, even if a cleaning fee of 70€ was charged.

The appartment was completely run down. Almost every appliance and furniture was damaged to a state where it is just disgusting to stay in the apparrment. Dont believe the good reviews. I am not a critical person, and i understand that things get used and may not be changed immediately, but what happend here was an incredibly bad experience. The least problem is the furniture and the wallpaint, everything is scratched, damaged, allready teared down. The worse part was the huge water damage and mold in the room next to the bed. This is a health hazard. I told the Host about it, and they told me they know about the issue, they assure that no new water would come in and that they did not fix it yet due to insurance reasons. This means they were fully aware of these issues and decided to keep the calendar open for bookings, even if the mold was a health hazard. Ruining the health of your guests for a few euros seems to be the mentality and work philosophy of this place. Also they charged a 70€ cleaning fee, but there was hair on my mattress like in a barber shop. It was just dirty. Would you like to sleep on a bed where somebody shaved and the cleaner did not even clean it ? The worst part is, the payment is handled by the property, so booking will not help you and try to give you some 10-15% discount on a next stay. They take a security deposit which i did not recieve back even after 7 days. I did not even stayed 1 hour in this appartment due to mentioned issues. Please look at the pictures for yourself. Awfull experience. Stay away if you value your health, money and time.

Santa Catarina's Loft was a perfect spot for a quick visit to Porto

Maria met us with the keys and couldn't have been nicer. We didn't need to call her during the visit, but I felt sure she would have been responsive. Her English was great (important for my friend), and she didn't laugh at my Portuguese (helpful for my ego). The room was located right where we wanted to be, and was quiet at night. There were extra blankets, important for southern people visiting Porto. I noticed there were four (count them, four) heaters in case you're visiting in the winter. The windows were new, so they block sound and unwelcome drafts. There are also external shutters that we found convenient. In general, the space in the studio was well-used: a sleeping area, a place to eat, a small but decent kitchen, a place to put your luggage, a cleverly planned bath. The place was comfortable.

The room was really good. A few inexpensive items would make it great: a spatula for cooking eggs in the morning, paper towels, things like that. These are really minor issues given everything that was good about it.
