Breakfast was wonderful and very tasty. You have your pick of eggs and then a buffet. Enough options for vegetarians (like us), I never had the feeling I wasn't accommodated. The same goes for lunch and dinner; there was always a vegetarian option. The rooms are nice and comfortable, the common areas as well. Prices for drinks are very affordable. The guides/rangers were very friendly and knowledgeable, they definitely made our stay even better.

If I'm being picky: I never understand why hotels use white light bulbs in rooms, instead of more yellow/warm ones. The storage room was a bit limited for 2 adults, so we kept some clothes in our bags.

The experience is simply AMAZING! We were excited to do our first game drive, but what we didn't know is how lucky we were to have picked Shiduli as our hotel. The team is very warm and is concerned to your well being at all time. The accommodation is very cozy and they organize it and clean it twice a day. The 2 game drives we do per day are a must, since every game drive is a different experience and the rangers/guides/trackers are 100% open to help you find the animals you are looking for. Really a great experience and would definitely recommend Shiduli and all the Karongwe Portfolio branches to everyone.

Really nice room. They even came while we were doing a safari to hang the mosquito nets and put chocolates on our beds ! The game reserve was awesome and we had the greatest safaris - seeing all big 5 - with the best guides Matthews and Raymundo. Also, the dinner outside with the fire was great. Location was easy to reach and staff available at all times. Would highly recommend this stay!

It was beautiful, right in the reserve but you always felt safe and very well looked after. Very nicely decorated. The staff were so attentive, friendly, and helpful. The staff arranged all our game drives and other excursions perfectly. The food was amazing, and we ate in different areas of the property every night which kept it interesting. The maids kept the rooms so clean and always made sure to put our mosquito nets down at night. The rangers were great fun and very knowledgeable. Everyone went above and beyond!

The swimming pool looked a little worse for wear, but they did explain it was getting renovated soon- otherwise we loved it all!

Staff was friendly and helpful. I expected abit more based on the pictures on booking.com as well as all the superb reviews. Wasn’t what we experienced though.

They didn’t know we were arriving and weren’t expecting us. They rushed to find us rooms and we were basically on the main road with trucks driving past all night. Didn’t sleep much!Food was ok!? When you at a game reserve 4 star lodge a buffet for all meals not what I’m used to!

Whilst we booked to stay at Shiduli, due to low occupancy we were upgraded, free of charge, to the Kuname Lodge. This review is thus for the Kuname Lodge and not Shiduli Lodge.

We were upgraded from Shiduli to Becks lodge and I am so hater we’re. Everything about Beck’s is exceptional. The decor, space, view, food (oh so much food) staff, bar and wine list. The chef came to chat each evening and even baked my husband a cake for his birthday. Every meal time the table was set differently and moved around the terrace, dining room and outdoor dining area. We had a boma evening too. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The tracker Freddie and guide Nathan were exceptional. We learned so much and they were determined to get us the sightings we wished for. Their passion for their work is contagious. The reserve was beautiful and green in its first flush of summer and there was a lot of new babies to coo over. A tailless warthog mommy brought her piglets to the safety of the tents. They were so comical on their unsteady legs. Just one day old. Small touches like a welcome cocktail and hot cloths to wash your hands and face after the game drives, turndown service and little personal motivational notes left on your pillow to the ranger who walks you to your room each night. This was truly my African dream.
