An excellent solution, a new word in the hotel business in my opinion. Being within walking distance from the historical center, the hotel itself is an attraction worthy of being shown to tourists. Beautiful interiors of the main building, a very beautiful and quiet courtyard, a building in the courtyard where my room was located - all this forms a complex of beauty, comfort and tranquility. The room is simply huge, high, a lot of air and volume. Excellent wide bed, all furniture in the same style, kitchen corner, dishes, clean and spacious bathroom. If it were possible to rate this hotel a 12, I would do so.
Nothing to clame.

It's a great place in the city's center, and the staff is very helpful and kind. The rooms are huge and designed very well and interesting. Nice breakfast. We were happy to stay in these apartments and will be back again.

Great big room, lovely garden and a very beautiful old house.
Breakfast was also very good.
The “commercial cheap” ham at breakfast - especially since Portugal have such nice ham.

Lovely old school decor. Huge bathroom and great shower. Pleasant quiet courtyard. Helpful staff. Convient in room mini bar. Location just a few blocks up from main city center. Felt safe walking around at night. Studio room across courtyard has a large sitting area and bed upstairs.
Bed a bit hard. Had a little trouble with the wifi.

A good breakfast. Nice decor. Quiet.
The property has potential, with the beautiful ambience and decorations. But owners need to make the room more functional.
The owners need to buy new beds and provide a storage situation with at least a few drawers so that you don’t have to live out of your suitcases. The bed was very uncomfortable and you could feel the springs though it was firm. it was hard to sleep on the bed.

I’ve made a solo trip to Porto and for me it was important to be close to the main things I wanted to see. You can go everywhere by walk(I also recommend it so you can see and experience Porto and the locals). But besides the city the Charm Palace is really a charm and one of a kind. The characteristics of the entrance hall, the garden and especially the room! I was staying at the Silk room and it had everything! First a great amount of room and a cute ‘lounge’(as I would like to call it myself) upstairs. Besides that the layout and furniture were great! It was also very clean and I felt safe trough my whole stay. Also you get more in comparison to the price you pay, because it’s really incredible! I am going to recommend it to my friends, colleagues and to you reading this right now. It definitely made my Porto experience better! 10/10

I spend amazing time at amazing place. I will definitely come back there! Thank you guys!
Everything was amazing! The only thing I would probably recommend for the future is to add a couple of sanitary napkins to the medical kit drawer. In case the emergency happened at night when to solve the problem isn't easy.

i loved the spaciousness, the whole decor of the Palace, there was also public spaces (lounge ), garden + glasshouse lounge! my friend and were there during christmas so it was a bit quiet, but that was also good. When I asked for a few different things for the room, the reception was very accomodating . Just note this is not like a regular hotel, but more like a luxury traditional BnB. If you love design, lots of space and a lot of luxury for good value , then I highly recommend.
Daily or any cleaning of the room is an extra fee, so perhaps for any stays longer than 3 days (we stayed 5) there should be an offer to empty the bins +replenish towels. Highly recommend !

Artistic renovation of converting an old row house to a guest hostel.
Size of the room is bigger than an ordinary hotel.
Very heavy bathroom door (timber door cladded with glass plane), but without door handle. You simply cannot close the bathroom door.
Very weak shower water.
At a neighborhood with postitutes working on the street around the corner.
BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT THE CHECK IN ARRANGEMENT : It was a rainy day and the city was packed with traffic jam, and our car was caught jam in the middle of the narrow street. We knew that check in office would close at 6pm, hence when we awared that we could not arrive before 6pm, we sent email to inform the management that we would arrive 6:30pm. Though we eventually arrived 6:25pm, the premises was locked and no staff was there. A very kind local people helped us to call the management, but no one received the call. We waited on the street for around an hour before a staff came to do check in for us. The fact is, we reserved the apartment for three days and have fully pre-paid the sum. Fortunately we drove and can wait inside the car, under the heavy rain.

Absolutely gorgeous, designer space. I wish I got stranded there the way I got stranded in Paris for 4 nights; the studio is well appointed (none of the issues some people reported- plenty of space and a kitchen that’s just enough (no oven but who wants to bake on vacation?) Also getting to the studio: you enter through an old mansion, the reception area is beautiful, through a pretty hallway and a garden where you might be lucky to spot a neighbor’s Siamese cat in a corner (she stays far away though); there’s a covered area by the garden where you can relax, then on to a modern apartment. My daughter and I were there in Dec but I imagine it would be nice to sip coffee in the morning in the garden.

The location of this property made it very convenient to walk to many places. A large grocery store is not even a half block away. The 2 bedroom apartment was very roomy and the beds comfortable. Being located in a separate building offered more privacy and no through traffic of other guests. The manager was very nice, responsive and helpful. He even took the time to provide a map and mark places we should visit. We really appreciated that!
The kitchen was not well equipped at all - a mishmash of silver ware with tons of forks, no real knife to cut with and 3 spoons! There was no cutting board or coffee maker; just a hot water kettle. We went out and bought a small french press so we could have coffee in the morning. We had to buy paper towels and sponges (the ones provided to wash dishes with were filthy). Some of the amenities in the listing were not there - no bathrobes and I had to ask for an iron. The couch was very uncomfortable and made me itch - not sure why but because of that we couldn't use it and had to sit in the hard plastic chairs at the dining table. The small outside patio is a nice idea but a fail - the wooden chairs are not in good shape and the plants have taken over the area making it unusable. The WIFI signal was inconsistent - weak and often dropping so this is a no go for digital nomads! I think it's because there is so much poured concrete (interior and exterior walls) that it interferes. Even going outside in the courtyard didn't help when trying to make WhatsApp calls. Trash cans were very small and filled up quickly (especially if you're eating in). When I asked for more trash bags I was given some but also told to buy my own at the grocery store. There is no place to throw away your trash so you have to carry it down the street a couple of blocks and put it in a public receptacle. This was more like a large hotel room without the services than a true vacation rental apartment. Also of note, the breakfast provided is an additional 15 Euro/person and parking is offsite at a public garage several blocks away for 10 Euro/day.

Facilities were clean. The studio was tidy and quiet. Good location, everything was in walking distance or a short Uber or bus.
I felt very pressured to check in at a deadline. I understand the property is run like an airbnb (check in only from certain times) which is fine but we made it clear we were not able to make that timeline and were prepared to pay the 30 dollar fee. We were told someone else would have to come in after hours to check in and we would just have to inform them when we were 20 mins out. We were then reminded several times that we needed pay the late check in fee and to make sure we met the new timeline (this being our first time in Portugal we didn't know what time rush hour ended or how long exactly it would take to get there). Keep in mind we were in a city a few hours away. We texted once we were 30 mins out and were told that we may have to wait a bit as he was with another customer (this was a frustrating because the whole time we were being rushed to make it in). We finally arrived and struggled to find parking. The person who checked us in advised us to "just park in the street", but there was no parking available and we asked again where else we could park. He told us to park in front of the building for 5 mins to unload and pointed to a spot which obviously would not fit her car (which is not a standard European car). My friend was so stressed that she forgot to put on the parking break and we almost hit another car. It was seemed like he just wanted to pass off the keys and start his weekend. He told my friend, who was driving, to just wait in the front with her hazard lights on while I checked in for us. While she was waiting, other drivers were getting very impatient and honking so she had to move and circle around until I was done with check in. We found the whole thing very unhelpful and frustrating. I was advised to "Just calm down and enjoy Porto." Thankfully, we were still able to enjoy Porto and take in the lovely sites the next morning, but our trip really started rough.

The location was brilliant. Initial reaction was wow a lovely looking large apartment with designer furniture.
Practical living was tricky. Nowhere to put hand or bath towels. Sofa and chairs in our attic room were uncomfortable. Internet kept dropping. A space to sit and eat on the balcony would have been good. Creaky floorboards. Soundproofing was poor from room below. No mattress protector.
