Welcoming and enjoyable

The whole experience of staying at the Tumbling Weir Hotel was enjoyable. The check in was welcoming and the room clean and comfortable. The food, including dinner, plentiful and well cooked and presented. I would definitely stay there again if in the area.

The incorrect postcode made locating the hotel difficult but the instructions given over the phone solved the problem.

Fantastic hotel in great location

Fantastic hotel. So clean, comfy bed and great breakfast. The garden is beautiful and the hotel is in a perfect location to visit Ottery St Mary and all the towns and beaches at Sidmouth, Beer, Branscombe etc. would highly recommend.

Very comfortable, great location and hearty breakfast

Very comfortable warm room and a quiet scenic spot in the centre of town but well tucked away. Great breakfast.

This is a traditional guest house, generally a little tired and in need of updating but that's what we were expecting and it was very comfortable and clean and the owner was friendly and helpful.

A 1 night stay

Lovely fresh breakfast, clean room, nice and quiet with a faint church bell.

It was quite expensive to be fair for 1 night and the bed was too small.

Quiet peaceful stay, good food, clean & comfortable

Excellent small Hotel, in quiet position, with adequate facilities. Owner & staff extremely helpful. This is a little Gem, tucked away on the outskirts of Ottery, with walks available, and superb eating - both breakfast & Dinner.

A warm welcome and delicious food.

This is a small English hotel close to the historic heart of Ottery St Mary and next to the River Otter. It is very comfortable, we received a warm welcome from the owner and the food was delicious.

We really can't think of anything.

First class service and food - ignore or enjoy the “retro” decor

Staff and food are first class. We felt at home and well looked after. Charming break Step back in time with the decor but you come here for the excellent staff and food

Quiet, clean and friendly.

Lovely building in a beautiful spot. Staff were all friendly, polite and efficient. The room was well appointed and very clean. I loved looking up at the roof thatch above the bedroom window.

The restaurant was closed on the Saturday night. There was not enought lighting by the bed to read by.

Comfy bed large airy room. Radiators had thermostatic controls so we could keep the room at a comfortable temperature. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of options.

The only tiny niggle was the single glazed windows meant we heard the bad weather as if we were outside, however this did not detract from our stay.

Should be called B&B. Locked up early. No access to anything but yr room come eve. Given front door key to get in/out. No hot water in the morning.

A friendly hotel in Devon with delicious food!

A very friendly welcome and delightful room. Delicious breakfasts and dinner on the first night was exceptional.

Disappointed that our bath taps didn’t work. In fact the plumbing generally was faulty. Also it is quite a long walk into town to explore.
