Great area for friends and family to get away from the city and relax. The area has something for everyone. Browse through Galena stores, grab lunch, spend time with friends. The home is approximately 6 miles from downtown Galena. 8 passes to Galena Territory Owners Club that includes outdoor/indoor swimming pool, game room, tennis, fitness room, and basketball court. Lake Galena marina has boat and kayak rentals. 26 miles of hiking trails. Near Thunder Bay Falls. Things to do nearby: antiques shopping, golfing, bicycling, hiking, spa, restaurants, wine tours, trolley tours, plus riverboat casino in Dubuque, IA. In winter time there is skiing/snowboarding @ Chestnut Mountain Resort plus summer sport activities. This is a Log Home, Country Setting, Wooded View. We have Foosball, Pool Table, Hot Tub, Satellite TV, DVD/VCR Player, Stereo, 2nd family room in lower level, all seasons porch. 5 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, plus a queen sofa sleeper, and daybed with trundle

Had everything we could need for a nice weekend with friends

Our first time in Galena. The area is amazing and we just happen to stay on what appeared to be the peak fall season. Everything was so beautiful driving from Galena to the house – beautiful views everywhere. The house was in a lovely neighborhood just a few minutes from downtown Galena. I would highly recommend this beautiful home!

The cabin is beautiful, and we enjoyed our stay immensely. We did not take advantage of the territory amenities. House was as presented, with the exception that we could not use the grill, as there was no gas. The kitchen is very well equipped, as we cooked all our meals on site. There are only 5 outdoor chairs around the fireplace, so bring outdoor chairs for your fire.
A few more towels would be appreciated for larger groups,

House is huge and fits multiple families very well! Basement was a hit for adults and the kids with a pool table, fooseball and tv w sofas for movies!
The kitchen is very well stocked! Everyone enjoyed the stay at the house. One thing tho, is that all 4 girls stayed in the master loft upstairs (ages 8-10) and on the day we left one left with some sort of rash all over arm and face and the others have all had the same rash shortly after.
I’m not sure if there is anything in the yard area or what but it’s something we all came away with.

The house was great for two families. Overall everything is well organized, stocked, and clean.

We had the best time ...The cabin was comfortable and spacious. The hot tub was very relaxing, and the game room was a plus. Our kids and grandkids enjoyed kayaking and swimming which was not too far away. Saw turkeys and deer outside the cabin and nearby. Many family memories were made.. A very enjoyable weekend.

I reserved the home for my siblings annual reunion. It was just what we needed and perfect for us! Melissa was a fantastic host and all details from the VRBO site were just as we found upon arrival.

Beautiful area. Home was perfect size for our family. Grandkids loved the game room downstairs. Close to downtown , golf, grocery store. The clubhouse pools were very nice.

This property is a great size for our group of 7 women. We had plenty of room to spread out for sleeping but also cozy enough to be together for meals and to play games. We enjoyed the hot tub so much.

This lovely and well appointed cabin was the perfect setting for a college girls get reunion. Melissa, our hostess, was attentive to detail and responded quickly to messages.

Main floor and loft bedroom were very clean and spacious. Loved the large dining table for playing games. Lower level bathroom in need of repair, cleaning and sprucing up. Owner was exceptional at communicating. Stairs lead to main entrance- if you have someone not too stable on their feet -would be difficult. Overall a great weekend

Stayed 2 nights with girlfriends. Communication with owner was great. Thought it might be a bit too far out, but the area is so beautiful, it was worth the few extra minutes to drive.

It’s what you see!!!! What a great home that allowed us to enjoy a wonderful family trip. The home is laid into a quaint quiet neighborhood and is all of a luxurious log cabin feel, while still being in a modern home. We had a blast, and would certainly recommend it to any family or group that wants some privacy, as well as easy access to the town of Galena and surrounding areas. Thanks again for being a great host!!!

Wonderful Galena Property
Owner very kind and communicative, house was large, ideally located for tranquility but also easy access to downtown and lakes. Owners Club provided for excellent additional amenities! I would highly recommend this property, and look forward to staying there next time we are in town!!

Stayed here two nights with my siblings and their partners, was a great weekend. Enjoyed the layout a lot as well as the amenities such as large living area, hot tub and the fire pit. Perfect for a weekend getaway, especially if trying to accommodate a larger group.

2 things, tho: The bath tub in the loft bathroom should have a rubber protection or a grab bar for seniors to hold onto. The guy that stayed in there slipped but fortunately didn't suffer a bad fall. Also, I hope you don't mind but it would have been better if we had light colored and light fabric linens; they look cleaner.
Just the same, someone in our group wants to book this place again soon .

Four couples started coming to this property in 2020. We have since returned for 2021, and will continue this new tradition for years to come. Perfect amount of space for four couples.
