Great place to stay at Edinburgh

Location in the heart of Edinburgh old town and apartment is very well stocked for a family stay.

Second level apartment with no indications at the time of booking. So as guests and family with kids- we had to carry 3-4 large bags on the stairs, this is very inconvenient and tricky if someone can’t carry these due to physical or health issues

Great location for downtown attractions, got a good workout on the stairs each day

Location was great for the walking of the downtown attractions. Starbucks really close.

Lack of coffee pot - not enough towels for 5 days - no washer/dryer - non existent parking for apartment - Instructions for the tv would have been helpful - living area furniture was uncomfortable - - stairs were unexpected with no lift - (but that was my error - I did not read the small print)

Spacious room and nice facilities

I did not meet staff but messaged on Booking. They responded promptly and provided all the information. Everything went smoothly. The room and bathroom are spacious. The small kitchen area is well equiped.

The staircase is a bit narrow. The room door is not soundproof. I could hear people walking and talking in the corridor. The tableware was not checked properly before my stay. The cafetiere wasn't cleaned.

Coup de cœur pour un petit nid douillet à l’emplacement parfait.

L’emplacement, l’aspect pratique mais sécurisé d’un appartement hôtel, le confort et l’espace. Tout est fait avec goût (gros coup de cœur pour la salle de bain)

L’absence de clé physique (clé virtuelle sur téléphone) n’est pas très rassurant. On se demande toujours si on va avoir assez de batterie ou si la porte est bien fermée (même si au final nous n’avons jamais eu de problème).

Het niet aangeven dat er geen lift is. Slechte communicatie met contactbureau over mogelijkheid latere vertrektijd uit accommodatie . Wij hadden op bevestiging 11.00 uur, maar moesten er om 10,00 uit. Aangegeven dat er iemand ziek was. Vlucht vertrok om 19.45 uur. Voor vertrek kaas plank gereserveers bij aankomst, Deze was betaald, niet aanwezig, na contact zou deze een dag later bezorgd worden, dit is niet gebeurd, na weer contact geld teruggevraagd. Dit is gelukkig wel goed gegaan.,

The stay was okay. Nothing too special.

The ambience. Good hygiene. Good location. The heating was good. Comfy beds. Plenty towels available.

No customer service. I tried to change the dates within the next 5 minutes of my booking and they charged me 300+ pounds. Very very bad customer service and they were also very inconsiderate. The employees would not call back. Hot water wasn't available when two people were showering. They made us check out before our checkout time!

Clean accommodation in an excellent location.

Property location is excellent within walking distance of the castle and surrounding areas. We were situated on the first floor - the room felt modern and clean. Complimentary biscuits and discounts for the surrounding cafes were also provided.

The access system could be improved. A few times the system went down so we weren't able to open the main door using the URL. Water in the bathroom was warm would be nicer if the water was hot and slippers to be provided.

great location and great apartment

The property was clean and had all amenities we needed. The apartment was very clean and beds comfortable it was great to have a bathroom for each bedroom. Location was good for the fringe and we parked up and walked everywhere !

it would have been great to have a lift to the 4 th floor it was a task to take up all the luggage we also had problems with the door code on the front door and the room door they are very tricky

Cozy and comfortable

- Location is fantastic; right at the start of Royal Mile, close to Holyrood palace and Arthur’s Seat - Has a tidy Kitchenette in the hall but sufficiently catered for cooking (relevant for family with young kids) - Neat and clean, good quality toiletries

- Only thing I hated was the stairs to the property. Our unit was on the 2nd floor with steep stairs and no lift access. If you have heavy luggage, be ready to bear the grunt and pain. Had there been lift access, the property gets a 10! - Small addition like door stops to be provided. It’s strange not being there given all doors have auto-hinge close! Those can just be left at the doors as it really helps for those with young kids - Washing machine to be provided as it would be quite helpful to multi-day guests. If not in unit itself, can be a shared common utility

Luxurious and super location. But not cheap!

Perfect location on the royal mile and close to everything. Very comfortable and luxurious with everything you need for a great stay. Really liked that there are 2 bedrooms plus lounge so nobody is sleeping g in the lounge. Great beds. Very smart little mini kitchenette.

The entry system is high tech but highly dependent on Wi-Fi. We had to wait outside in several occasions as there was No connection - it was worst at busy times if the day when there are Lots of tourists. We were not the only ones who had problems. Heavy door to lounge which banged a lot. Could have done with some basic instructions eg on how to use dishwasher It’s very very compact - may be a problem for those with lots of big cases!

Comfy apartment, great location, but beware of noisy seagulls!

Very nice apartment with a built-in kitchen and everything you need to prepare meals + a dishwasher. Spacious bathrooms (one for each bedroom), comfortable beds. Contactless entry works very well. The one time it did not work, a phone call to the service desk was all it took to remedy the problem. Great location, right on the Royal Mile, a ten minute walk from Waverly train station.

Soundproofing. Even with all the windows closed (litte to no ventilation), there was constant noise from passers-by, trucks loading and unloading and, unexpectedly, screeching seagulls. Also, for extended stays, adding a washing machine would be a great feature.

Very pleasant

Location was superb! All attraction are accessible. no need for bus rides. We walked up to Calton Hill down to Princes St then up to St Giles Cathedral then back to apartment. About 10km walk of great attractions.

I did not expect that we were on the top floor as we are occupying the whole apartment. However, very understandable since the building is in the Old Town where all structures are culturally preserved so elevator is not expected.

This is not a hotel, it is a self check-in nicely equipped apartment in a good location.

Excellent location, the apartment has a well equipped kitchenette which suited our needs for five days in Edinburgh. This is NOT A HOTEL, it is a nicely furnished minimalist apartment. They provide some tea bags, coffee and a bottle of bubbly in the fridge, which is a nice touch.

There is no lift, there is no contact with a human being, only email communication, and it was odd to receive an email with instructions at the end about emptying out the bins and switching off appliances. Just one rail with four hangers and one shelf for clothes.

Great location and a very cool room

Room was very clean and tidy and in a great location

Could use another fan. Also the sensor light in the entry was annoying, it would be nice if this could be turned off by the tenants if they wish.

Great Location

The location was perfect , that it was self check in and the size of the apartment and nice design static.

There was no lift.( so basically you use the stairs),other that that no complain.

Liked the rooms and location. Wouldn’t stay there again.

Rooms were clean spacious and comfortable

No concierge or help desk! Also did not receive the email asking for online check in prior to arrival. So we landed at the door with no access codes to get in - everything is electronic- and had to call them to get the form and then do the online check in from the street and then got in. Not a pleasant experience. Other similar properties are better.

Very nice property but poor customer service

On a positive note, this property is beautifully decorated and in a really good location. Now for the negative … on our first day we noticed that our master bathroom flooded on our first day there. The drain in the shower didn’t work so all of the water came out if even if you only took a very quick shower. The sink in the second bathroom was also not draining. My husband and I had to use all of the towels in the unit to clean up the mess. When we notified the property company, Altido, they sent someone to look at it and he said he needed to order a part to correct the plumbing issue. We were there for four nights and it was never repaired. We had a second bathroom flooding issue and again we cleaned up using all of the towels in our unit. There is no washing machine here and Altido didn’t replace our towels this time so we had to go two days with no towels. After our stay, I asked if we could have some type of small monetary compensation for the plumbing issues we had (plus no towels and only being able to use one bathroom). I was told we needed to provide pictures even though they know we already left the property and they have record of what happened because it’s in the email exchanges that both parties can see. Overall, this is a well decorated property but the customer service was very lacking. If you book and experience issues, make sure to take photos as documenting the issues didn’t seem to help us.
