Very pleasant location and accomodations. Would certainly stay again.

Definitely not as expected from Expedia listing and motel website.
"View" out the back window was of a tall fence 2 feet from the window. (No lake views out the front. It's on the other side of the street, behind a different motel)
Nobody present during the posted limited office hours, sign gave a number to text, but those texts went unanswered.
Paper thin walls and front door meant hearing ALL of the passing traffic, as well as the guy in the adjacent room having a screaming meltdown all night and the next morning.. (Staff actually on site would have needed to deal with the disruption)
Tiny shower in tiny bathroom, with no exhaust fan. (Bath window, the only way to ventilate the bath, wide open upon arrival). Hit my head on the sink standing up from the toilet. (It's THAT close)
"Breakfast" of cereal or half loaves of store bread not available until sometime between 8 and 9. Generic K-cups for coffee.
Never did find the advertised bottled water.
Bottom line: 50s dive motel for a major chain hotel price, with no charm or views to redeem it

Comfortable beds, good linens, good wifi, and easy check in/out. Coffee maker in room broken, no water bottles as advertised, moldy baked goods for breakfast, shower head good if 5ft tall or under, and no daily maid service.

Was on a biking trip doing colors. The hotel was very convenient for us and it worked well.

Very nice place, clean cute. Would stay again!

Great place, accommodates for later check in times, provides numbers and address for local places to eat and emergency services just in case. Staff was very nice as well.

I understand we stayed towards the middle of the week, but in the room it stated coffee was available along with a grab and go breakfast by 7:30 am. By the time we left, the office was dark and locked. No coffee except in the room, and no grab and go anything.
We never saw a manager or caretaker in the evening or morning.
If we would have known this, we would have stayed down the road that had a breakfast. With everything closed, we had breakfast in Traverse City.

The convenience was great! I really liked the process for check in and out. I appreciated being able to text that I didn't need housekeeping for the day. Thank you.

Loved that we were able to walk to the beach and watch the sunset on Crystal Lake. We could of watched it from our rooms as well.

The room was not too roomy and had sand all over the non-carpeted floor. There was no hot water after a 20 min. wait. It was situated right on a busy road with noise all night. Might have been quieter on the back side. There were 2 rooms filled on our side of the building and we were situated right next door to one another. Those folks were loud and we wished we could have been situated further away.
We never saw an employee of the place. Check in was by code which I was not able to find right away. A bit confusing.

. It’s a bit older building but you can tell they’ve done a lot, very clean. Don’t bother trying to shower unless you’re under 4 foot tall. Would stay again.

Left a day early walls were so thin. We could hear the people opening their beer. the party that went on till 3 AM.

The property is quiet and cute, with a nice pool, deck, and fire ring. The manager is very responsive, and he reached out prior to our arrival to give us a room key code so we could arrive anytime. A typical continental breakfast was available. The bathroom was small, the rooms were clean...so clean in fact that it was problematic. When arrived, we were overwhelmed by the smell of cleaning agents. We opened all the windows and left. It took six hours for it to air out. Once the clean smell had neutralized, I noticed the detergent smell of the bedsheets. I am allergic to two types of detergent fragrance. The scent on the sheets had me so concerned that I slept on top of the bedspread with clothing covering everything but my head. I got a contact dermatitis rash on a patch of my face, probably from the pillow. Obviously, I appreciate that the linens were laundered, but I've never had this issue at another motel/hotel. It's a relatively easy fix to use unscented laundry detergent, though it takes several times through the wash to get scented detergent out of fabric. I know most people don't have a reaction to laundry detergent fragrance, but if I'd seen a review with this info, I would have chosen other lodging.

We enjoyed staying at Coastal Inn! It was clean , the staff were accommodating to us, and it was quiet when we were ready to sleep. We would stay there again!

It was adequate.

This is the second time staying at this facility. Both times had excellent experiences.

Weird place. No one was around. Pool was not working. No sleep from loud guests sitting around a fire ring until 1:00am. Would not stay there again.

Good location, well managed place. Strongly recommend this place.

This hotel is clean and well maintained within the rooms. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. There is never anyone in the office, and the first morning I went after 8:00 am and it was closed, darkened and no lights on in the breakfast area. If you are comfortable with never seeing or talking to anyone who works there, this place is for you. Personally, I find it a little creepy and maybe a bit overpriced. Speaking of the breakfast, this might have been the most lame continental breakfast I have ever seen. Plan to find a breakfast elsewhere.

This property was very clean. Kelly helpful. Brandon helpful. No hot water. Would not give me even small rebate. Expensive rate for this property.

The motel was clean and room was comfy. We had loud neighbors though. Pool was not clean so we didn't use it. Overall, it was a good stay. Lady at breakfast was nice and they had good variety of breakfast items. Area was beautiful. Would stay again!

We had a nice stay.

The good : The room was clean and check in was easy with great communication. The bad: The air conditioning in room 1 does not stay on. It runs for a few minutes then shuts off. We had to turn the unit off and on all night long to try to cool the room. Someone’s used towel was left hanging in the bathroom. There’s only blinds on the back window, no curtain so it’s quite bright from the outdoor lights.

Stayed 2 nights and the staff was good.. gave us the wrong room at first—pulled up and go to unlock the door and saw the window was open and heard people talking inside. The shower head is a good height if you’re 4’8”. Wish there were more hooks or shelves in the bathroom to be able to hang things. Lots of bugs—rooms should have the bug light traps. Breakfast was good besides the muffin having mold on it? The sheets should be white instead of navy to see stains though you know? Liked that it was vinyl flooring instead of carpet

Check in was a breeze and accommodations were comfortable. Across the street from Crystal Lake; a real beauty comes with great sunsets.

The pool was warm with a warm shower next to the pool. The breakfast was the best one we had during our week of vacation and staying at different hotels. Lot of variety and the quality was the best of all our stays.

We stayed in the Cove room which was a large apartment style room that easily slept our family of 5. Nice kitchen with appliances. Room was very clean and updated

Clean and all new! Super cute and close to everything

Don’t get crazy prices in overall Traverse City area, okay small hotel, small room, tiny shower, service was great, very helpful staff Very noisy rude guests, not motels fault, but you could hear everything in next room and outside, would have been okay at half the price

We ended up with a second floor room- we have a cranky older lady traveling with us, 4 suitcases, and a cooler— no elevator or help of any kind. Only 1 bath towel in bathroom for 4 guests. Not sure about breakfast yet. More of an air b&b feel so far….

Coastal Inn was nice and clean and maintained. We enjoyed out stay here.

Pricey for the small room and shower. But the property is clean and we were comfortable. Continental breakfast is a convenient mart breakfast.

If you have to stay a night without any other choices , you can stay a night not with pleasure . Otherwise , you can go with better option

The bathroom door did not close which was a privacy issue. There were a variety of bugs on the walls and ceilings. The toilet did not flush well and when clogged no one was available in the office for assistance. The complimentary breakfast offered oatmeal but nowhere to microwave and only had styrofoam bowls which are not microwaveable.
No decaf coffee available in the lobby.
Very disappointed with the overall stay !
3.0
The room was clean, but we are 70 years old and were not informed it was on the second floor with no elevators. It. did not look like the room we saw in the pictures online! Breakfast is a muffin not grab and go sandwiches or anything hot! The owners are working on two different properties so you can only reach them by phone. You need to get towels and toilet paper yourself in the morning. No services at all! We will not be going back again!
