My stays at OB Samesun are always amazing. I will continue to visit here every year. Staff is always perfect . The vibes really vibe here . It’s always like family

This is the second time we have stayed at this location and everyone is always so welcoming and helpful. Being disabled and solo-traveling with my fully trained service dog is not always easy, but every step of the way they were so accommodating while being respectful and knowledgeable on the ADA law. Will definitely continue to stay here any time I am in the area.

A fantastic hostel! Incredible staff, great people, very clean, and great services. They serve coffee and some food in the morning, offer boards and beach toys for rental, and have some very nice, comfortable common spaces. The rooms are very clean, beds are very comfortable, and are set up nicely to give you a private, cozy space even though you are in a room with 1-5 other people!
This was my first time staying at a hostel and it was truly an excellent experience.

Property vibe and inside the hostel was great! Nice staff etc.
There were a lot of homeless nearby so as a young solo and inexperienced traveller, it felt a little unsafe, and there are not many restaurants etc that are easy to access close by.

Probably the nicest, cleanest hostel I have stayed in anywhere in the world. Staff were super friendly great vibe to the place and perfectly situated close to beach, shops and restaurants. Only downside was on street parking but always managed to find a spot but you may have to drive a couple of laps to get close to the hostel.

Room I stayed in smelled horrible and had a person staying there who snored so loud he kept everyone up.

This place is a gem. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The guests are all so respectful. This is my third time staying here and each time has been so nice!

I stayed at Samesun for 4 night. They had 24/7 reception which was great for security and late flight times! The location is right on the beach , giving a chiller Venice beach vibe. The workers make sure the place stayed clean, I see them cleaning every morning ! The workers had great hiking and food recommendations. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was overall environment. There were some young groups who were just like me looking to explore new places , but there is also a wide range of people who are staying long term and are not permanently housed outside the hostel. Some of these individuals made it really hard to relax inside the hostel, I made sure to keep busy and stayed exploring. They made me feel super uncomfortable when I tried to relax around the hostel. At night it would get super rowdy within the hostel , i would hear a lot of banging. There was an obvious divide in guests where most of the people I met there were just as uncomfortable as me with the guests that were staying long term and even decided to leave early because you could not relax within the hostel it’s self. I was lucky to meet two amazing people , but I’m not sure Samesun is the environment I was looking for. There was great potential for the environment to be welcoming and friendly , it was already done by the workers and the LGBTQ community inclusion. The guest demographics was not at all as expected in the social media posts, but thank you for the memories and the walkable neighborhood

Great hostel. Newly-renovated, great staff and awesome facilities. Bed was quite squeaky and lacked privacy curtain. Loved the young lady at front desk as well as the helpful friendly Latin guy. Kudos to them. Energy bars pancakes and fruits at breakfast. Loved the hammock, couches, surfboard rental, beach towels rentals and availability of sunscreen.

This hostel is great. So close to the beach (OB). A lot to offer close by:restaurants, laundromat, drugstore, grocery store souve ir shops,... the staff is really nice and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

This hassle was surprisingly wonderful. Obviously it was affordable, but the amenities were better than I expected with breakfast including waffles,, pancakes, fruit, coffee and granola bars. The location could not be better for proximity to all the fun things in ocean beach. It also offered people watching at its finest. I recommend this hostel and plan to come back again.

Hostel was well-kept and the bathrooms and kitchen were always clean. The lockers in dorms could be bigger, I would’ve liked more space to lock things up. 6 bed dorm felt too small and crowded with everyone’s bags and suitcases on the floor. It was ok for a short stay but I wouldn’t choose it again. The hostel is good option if you want to be seaside, it’s only steps away from the beach. Just know that without car you need to be catching buses or Ubers to go anywhere in San Diego, it’s not walkable to other neighborhoods that might interest visitors.

Their is no seperate AC , so it was a little hot.
However location is really great to go to beach and pier.

My girlfriend booked me 10 days at Samsung and they got huffy about not having a debit card on file for incidentals. Which I get if your the Hyatt Regency and I offered to put up a cash deposit....there's literally nothing in the rooms that you could break. Bunk beds and a sink. They told me I had to leave 3 days into the 10 day stay and we never got our money back for the 7 days I didn't stay there. For a bunch of hippies, they were a giant hassle and not super-chill.
