Pros: Room was clean & comfortable; Breakfast was minimal but tasty; Convenient to walk around downtown; honored request for a later check out; housekeeping all very friendly with good morning & smiled.
Cons: strong smell in lobby from renovations; loud traffic noise all hours (room was 5th floor corner of main intersection); AC unit was loud but helped to drown out the traffic noise; overflow parking has 2 sets of stairs to haul luggage up/down; room esthetics were outdated & room phone did not work.

This location was close to events, dining, shopping, and things to do. The room is large and beds were comfortable. Street noise was loud, but we slept through it fine. They were under construction in the lobby, and I think that's why breakfast was pretty limited. Overall, we would stay again.

The location was accessible to downtown and public transportation.
Breakfast was good, friendly staff

We always enjoy our stay here. Rooms are spacious, staff is friendly, and the location is within walking distance to temple square, Delta Center, and City Creek mall.

Really nice room right next to the Delta Center.. Go Jazz!!

Good location and clean. Parking at this hotel is not an issue. The tea/coffee station can be better. I stopped by 2 times and there was no coffee, hot water for tea, no cup available, I assume that since the hotel is selling espresso hence this tea station is neglected.

First thing that was a disappointment was the fact that the pool and hot tub were closed. They should really advertise that seeing as that was one of the only reasons we booked here because we wanted a relaxing night together with a hot tub. Second, we paid $10 for parking in another lot that they must have a deal with, but the gate was up in the morning meaning we technically didn’t have to pay. Next, they advertise that they have chrome cast when you scan the QR code for amenities, but they did not. The tv was positioned mainly for the couch not the bed, so it was a little awkward watching tv from bed. The lighting in the bathroom was awful and the shower felt like getting hit with a firehouse. Then breakfast was definitely lack luster. I’ve had better breakfasts at cheaper hotels. Honestly not impressed and have no desire to stay here again. Definitely not worth the money we paid.

We were on the road for 3 hours and noticed that check in time wasn’t until 3pm so we killed an hour and then went to the hotel at 3. The worker apologized and said the room would be ready in “30 mins to an hour” we said we would wait in the lobby bc we were tired from traveling. The guy said he would text us when the room was done. An hour passed and we check in, sorry the room isn’t done yet. Tired we just sit there staring at the guest service desk. (The lobby is very small, so they should know we are waiting). My dad paces back and forth in the lobby, another lady goes can I help you? Just waiting for our room he replies. (this is about 1 1/2 hours waiting in the lobby. She finally gets us in right before 5pm which was enough time for us to drop off our stuff and head to our 5:45 event across the street. “Oh…. We were suppose to text them” the other worker said who I first spoke to when I checked in at 3. It was a frustrating/exhausting experience for us. Wasn’t worth the $200 I spent

With my other review already written. The only other thing that is frustrating is the $10 per night parking fee that is not talked or said or mentioned anywhere on the website or upon check in. Not cool nobody likes hidden fees at all.

It was fine. Room was comfortable, bed clean and cozy. The remodel didn't affect me too much.

Excellent hotel, convenient, wonderful breakfast going through remodeling at the moment..only problem encountered was with through the wall heat units not working as required and often too noisy for light sleepers. Staff is just wonderful.

We stayed for a New Year’s Eve to be able to walk to the Gateway location was great! Staff was friendly but the first floor was loud due to the street. They need better noise canceling windows.

Great location, right next to The Depot. Quiet, clean, renovations in progress so some areas were unfinished looking but not lacking anything.

Though under construction for renovations, this was one of the nicer places we stayed this year. Liked the layout of the room, the bed, and normal pillows, not sky high ones that cramp your neck. We had food before going to a concert next door. Chicken caesar salad and crispy chicken wings were both very good. Breakfast was also good, with a variety of choices. Checkin was quick and easy, staff was extremely courteous and friendly. Unfortunately the pool and spa were outdoors so we opted not to use them as it was about 34° outside. Will definitely stay here on our next visit to SLC.

The biggest disappointment of our stay was the food. The hotel's website claimed that it had a restaurant, I even called the hotel to confirm before I decided to book this place but when we arrived, we discovered that it was more like a limited-service food service. The only options were pre-made sandwiches, salads, and snacks. We were hoping to have a more substantial meal, so we ended up ordering door dash as all the restaurants were closed due to the holiday.
Another concern was the hotel's security. While we were having dinner in the lobby, two suspicious-looking men walked through the door. The receptionist immediately went and started closing the blinds, and she then called security. The security guard arrived and escorted the men out of the hotel. He then checked the entire floor to make sure that no one else was unauthorized. This incident made us feel uneasy for the rest of our stay.

This hotel was decent. Staff at check though was somewhat frustrating.
