Bedbugs. avoid.

The location and the flat was well equipped.

Very unfortunately this apartment has a significant and untreated BEDBUG infestation. I was bitten head to toe, which was very distressing. I know this was bedbugs as I saw up to 10 live bedbugs, which I managed to squish. I sent photographic evidence of the bugs and bites and left these for the property to inspect (i've had no response whatsoever). The bites became more evident the 2nd night and I requested that we be moved to a new apartment. I was travelling with my elderly parents who are in their 80s. The accommodation requested photo evidence, which I sent (also cc'd to Booking.com). After sending the photos, I heard nothing back from the accommodation or Booking.com, and I had to continuously chase. I was on the phone for 2.5hrs to Booking.com who were trying to negotiate a refund and move for us- but they were not successful. The accommodation is managed by an agency who could have moved us. However, as it was after 11pm and we had no clear response about a move or refund we were forced to stay that additional evening. I did not sleep and was bitten again. We managed to obtain a refund for the final night (so we booked elsewhere) with what seemed like extreme reluctance from this accommodation and under pressure from Booking.com. Neither party has refunded or compensated us for the nights I was bitten -they took the full amount for those evenings. Booking.com gave us a small token voucher to use for our final evening (it didn't cover the cost of an additional night). We were careful not to take the bugs with us meaning, numerous trips to the laundromat, at our own cost. We stayed an extra night at our own cost when returning home to avoid taking back to my apartment (again, we were careful not to spread to the new place). To add insult to injury, despite our best efforts, new bites have appeared and I may be facing an extremely expensive eradication of my home. The agent has no conscience (or booking.
