A beautiful and well-kept resort. The staff was exceptional and the rooms and entire property were immaculate. The little added extras (like marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers for s'mores) really helped complete the experience.
Just small things like the water and snacks in the lobby not being replenished and no towels available in the pool at the times that we were there. Little things like that should be taken care of at a resort like this.

Dinner was fairly decent. The room was cute but overlooked a parking lot for the cost would have preferred a garden to view.
The massage was over priced.

I like the comfortable sitting areas. I like Woodland Grill and the foods although the menu on the website has not been updated to coincide with the menu in the restaurant.
I didn’t like that the Beer Garden was only open on weekends.

The rooms at the inn were lovely, as was that entire facility. It was like going back in time. The sitting area near the lobby was very cozy, and we, as well as many others, took advantage of it. Roaring fire, games, reading, drink, coffee, etc.
The spa showers and steam room were moldy. The showers were not cleaned on our first visit, but we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and try it again. However, the showers were not touched the next 2 visits as well. I know because here were empty plastic bottles left in the showers.
The room we took was a king room. It was beautiful but had a small counter in the bathroom with no table in the entry where the mirror was located. Therefore, there wasn't a place for toiletries or make-up and hair items. It was extremely inconvenient, especially since the room next door with 2 queens had a large counter in the bathroom as well as a table in the entry with a seat to be used as a vanity.

Barnsley is always a fabulous getaway! Great ambience, great food, great activities....meets couple's needs while also kid and animal friendly.

Breakfast was delicious and servers were sweet. Dinner was delicious, but the appetizer took 30 minutes to arrive. The server at dinner was sweet too. The staff at Barnsley is top notch and really made the place feel amazing. The grounds are pretty. The layout is convenient and pretty too. The cottages are very nice too.
The safe in our room is old and is being swapped out but we had to have someone come and open it. The rooms seem to be a bit dirty since it is a cottage. It just felt a bit dirty. The bathrooms are a bit older. The TV remote did not work. It could use some remodeling. The duplexes are not as nice as the single cottages, for privacy, but still quiet enough.

Breakfast at Woodlands Grill was great- try the breakfast burrito! Also, we had dinner there, and the scallops, steak, and cocktails were great!
We tried to hike, and not all of the trails are marked well the whole way- when we asked the staff, they weren't 100% sure where to go. We found our way, though, and it was a lot of fun!

We enjoyed the horseback ride along with the opportunity to walk different trails.
We did not like the hospitality we received at the hotel. The front desk employees should be more receptive to the travelers who were located in the cottages. There was also opportunity around ensuring the property are thoroughly cleaned prior to the next customer.
6.3
The additional mandatory 20 percent gratuity on everything purchased everywhere!!
