Went to check in at 4PM after a long drive and was told room wasn't ready yet and to come back in 20-30 minutes. There were at least 20 other people waiting for their room to be cleaned. Tried checking in several times more and the room was finally ready at 7PM. Completely unacceptable! Once inside, the carpet was dingy and the room was dated. The manager offered a $20 credit. The room should have been fully refunded! Will never stay here again.

Nice view. Staff was nice.
Motel-style, which I did not know when booking and safety was a concern. Elevator was accessed outside so anyone could go up and down the elevator/be on the property, and we felt very uncomfortable from a safety standpoint. Door did not open with key card properly - one key card did not work at all and the other took multiple tries to work/open the door. Could not get clean towels in a timely manner - waited over 24 hours. Toilet clogged. Kitchenette was in shambles - cabinet was peeling apart, other cabinet doors were hung crooked. Decor was severely dated. Did not even get a bar of hand soap in our room. Found a pile of toenails on the floor by the chair. Only one very thin sheet and very thin blanket for bedding- we ended up sleeping with our clothes on. Tub/shower was clean but had several cigarette burns on it. Pools were scummy and very small. Packet of coffee had mold in it. Also, VERY thin walls. Ugh, I don’t even need to explain how I know that (literally had to cover my kids ears). While the pictures online looked like this was a great off-season deal for an oceanfront hotel, it was basically a cheap, dated motel, not worth even the money we unfortunately paid. I requested a refund so I could leave and find someplace safer/better for my family.

The property is used to be somewhere. We enjoyed taking our family out and having fun. We enjoyed the clean rooms in the hospitality you got at the front desk.
This has been the second time this year we stay there and the people at the front desk are not as friendly. In fact majority of the time we are a bothersome. They have changed a lot of their policies and their science post that you are supposed to get your silverware and pots and pans by either calling or going through the front desk. Well we tried going to the front desk however, they looked at us as we were dumb and told us to call, the rooms are not clean. The floors are dirty. The beds look like they have not been washed. The whole experience for me was traumatizing because this is where we have enjoyed for the last couple of years taking our family I don’t know who now owns it or what they are doing with the property but I can tell you for sure it will not be a hotel I stay at in the future.

Always stayed here on vacations. This trip the rooms were not what I would call clean by no means. I spent my first day cleaning and sanitizing the whole place. Was extremely shocked at the first room we were assigned to. I wouldn't let a dog stay in it if I had one. It was honestly UNBELIEVABLE! Asked to see second room, opened the door and the place was literally flooded with water. Still can't believe all we went through just to end up in a room that we did our best to (clean) just to try to make it work so we could have a place to stay for the week. It's apparent that this Sandcastle Resort South has been under new management for quite a while. My last stay there was a few yrs ago and it was the cleanest place ever and staff was excellent then. My Family is so sad that this has happened to what was once our only place we would stay at. I don't like to give a bad review if I can help it but gotta be honest about this one.

The location & how close it is to the ocean was wonderful. Just minutes from anywhere we needed to go.
The property just needs to be freshened up. Rooms need to be painted & thoroughly cleaned. Parking deck is really tight.

It was a great location & staff got us in early after we paid the fee online. Gave us a free drink at pool side bar & never tried bothering us to clean our room during our 3 days which is what we wanted. Super friendly staff. Our room was clean & our fridge was so cold it froze our milk.
The pool was kind of small & crowded & water was a little warm, no biggy. The restaurant was closed but we weren't expecting there to be one anyway. We show a bug in bathroom, water bug or roach, but it was still worth it to stay there at that price.

Not a lot. I know we were in Myrtle Beach, but the posted pictures are very deceiving. This place is probably 2 years passed due for a remodel.
The first room they sent us to was right beside an ice maker, which was obnoxiously loud. The furniture was very beat up, missing parts, and drawers off track. And you could see footprints in the dust/dirt on the floor. The second room was a little better, but not by much. We bought some Clorox wipes, and gave everything a good wiping down so we would feel better about being able to touch, sit, or rest on anything. At least the furniture worked. The pressure in the shower was fine, but controlling the temperature was little tricky. It was either scalding hot or cold. The final straw was, on our 3rd, of a 4 day stay, they were to spray for bugs. Not a problem, as we had plans to be out for the day. But when we returned, we found that our room door was not closed, leaving all our belongings exposed. We decided to leave immediately. The front desk attendant was apologetic but did nothing to make us feel better about it. I would not stay here again. The posting states there is a restaurant on site. Although there is a room that at one point had a restaurant in it, we found out that it closed sometime last year and appeared to be closed for the foreseeable future. This was not the most expensive, or cheapest, place to stay, but for the amount they did charge, I expected a lot more.

The front desk clerk Sophia she was awesome that's all I liked
The fact if it's a resort with fee it definitely wasn't resorting. The bar had gotten shut down a week ago the lazy river was nasty I stayed my last night at the hotel next door Paradise Resort where there everything was what you get at a resort. My room at Sandcastle was uncomfortable we killed roaches the night we checked in and why would you have pest control spray the rooms that's occupied why couldn't it wait till the room was empty. I'll never stay there again

Staff was extremely friendly and professional. I also liked the location.
The elevators are dirty, stinky, slow, and hot. Although the room was clean overall, we had a rusty refrigerator in our room which made the room feel dirty. The furniture is very outdated. In addition, for the price of the room, I expected the room to be a little larger. Update the furniture, the fridge, clean the elevators and add ventilation at least and your reviews would be much better.

ocean front view, 2 heated pools, 3 hot tubs and lazy river
most of staff rude, hallways filthy, have to wait on clean towels and trash bags, inside pool and hot tub was being repainted when we was there for first 2 days of our 6 day stay and smell was so bad took your breath away! so many young children in hot tubs adults couldn’t enjoy them they should close pools at 10 pm and allow adults only until 12 am
