Modern kitchen with stainless appliances and granite counter tops, is perfect for cooking meals in which is open to the oh-so comfortable living area, ideal for togetherness. Complete with a formal dining room for a family dinner after a fun day in Hood River. Three bedrooms on the upper level each with their own TV and little balcony for a breath of fresh Oregon air. Two of the three upper bedrooms share a pretty jack and jill bath. The primary has it's own gorgeous bath with extra large soaking tub and separate shower. Love the glass light fittings! This gem is complete with A/C, river views and a hot tub . . . truly the perfect Hood River location! License #504 The Columbia River Gorge, with its mountains and rivers, offers the vacationer and recreation enthusiast the opportunity to windsurf, mountain bike, kayak, golf, ski, hike, fish, or just relax in the unhurried pace of a natural paradise. Historic buildings line the beautifully scenic streets of downtown Hood River, with a bustling shopping district featuring boutiques, designer shops, outdoor adventure gear outfitters, antique shops, art galleries and no less than 30 restaurants. There are many orchards and vineyards in Hood River. The Hood River Valley is known for its luscious apples, pears, cherries, peaches and other fruits, and for the view of the majestic snowcapped peak of Mt. Hood. People from all over Oregon make an annual trek in the fall to the many farm stands to stock up on fresh apples and pears. Other produce is available, and varies by season. The award-winning Hood River Vineyards is located on a hillside overlooking the Hood River Valley. Their tasting room features traditional wines, and fruit liqueurs. This was a great property! A bit far from downtown, but worth it. Great size, plenty of bathrooms, a very comfy living areas. We especially enjoyed the hot tub! Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Hood River.

The house had a great set up for our family. The check process and communication was great!
The only thing we would of liked is if the kitchen would of had some supplies, such as foil, Syran wrap and maybe some zip loc bags. We stay in VRBO often and most of them are all equipped with all of that but overall great house!

Everything was perfect.... the organization of the property made it unnecessary to contact the host. They had already thought of everything!

Carpets need to be cleaned. faucet in jack and jill bathroom upstairs is slow to drain, cabinet under kitchen cabinet does not close properly. hard to open patio door. outdoors furniture and deck has not been cleaned. left over pizza was in oven from previous renters. chair in bunk room needs to be replaced. side door was unlocked before we came, rugs in living room have rolled corners. a tripping hazard. minor things but house could be stellar if fixed!!!!!

The house was a great size for our group, very comfortable, great floorplan and spacious. Enjoyed the hot tub and the many balconies. Check-in was easy and the place was clean.

Overall it was a great experience! The house is was exactly as expected. It was clean and comfy, lots of room for everyone to hang out and relax, great location (if driving- only a couple minutes to downtown) and the hot tub was a nice touch. The only issue we had was the Wi-Fi took a little awhile to figure out and the TV set up was a bit complicated but if your tech savvy, than it’s not a problem. The check-in, check out was super easy and we had a great stay and would definitely go back.

We were there for a wedding, so the house was spacious and had good amenities. The master room had gorgeous views and big windows. The 4th room is literally in the garage so the guests staying there did feel a little awkward having to walk through the garage (with our cars) in the morning & night. The location was also behind a huge storage unit and somewhat hard to find. The nice thing was that it was centrally located.

Excellent property, convenient location to town. Nice amenities and comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen. It is very close to the rear of a shopping center and the HVAC drones 24/7 very noticeable with open windows. The master patio faces front and does not have enough window coverings if you preferr it dark. The other bedrooms do stay pretty dark. Lots of stairs to climb to the main floor and bedrooms. Overall it was very nice stay.

We really enjoyed this condo. It had everything we needed. The hot tub was great, the central air conditioning was greatly appreciated and the location was easy to get in and out of. We would like to stay here again in the future.

Large space, modern and clean. Not quite close enough to downtown to be considered walkable. Basement room with bunk bed was strange but we didn’t use it.

A very enjoyable stay however and I would recommend the Downwinder to anyone looking for a large place to stay when visiting Hood River.

Great Wedding Accommodation at the Downwinder
The property was perfect for our party of 8 adults visiting Hood River for our daughter's wedding. Plenty of room for everyone, good parking, comfortable beds and we made great use of the kitchen and lounge for family gatherings.
Communication with the host was excellent and instructions for entry and exit were very clear and easy to implement.

We spent a lovely weekend in Hood River. The house was great for four friends to enjoy - both inside and out. The private patios off each bedroom were great. We wished we had more than just a weekend to enjoy!

Weekend getaway
Great house and only a mile to town, easily walkable to shopping and dining! Our only issue was Dish network. Missing some key programming options and inability to cast from phone, etc. But if TV is not a concern, it’s a great place to stay!

Rental was nice and clean, with a lot of space. The only downside was the pillows on the bed were so bad.

We had a great time in Hood River and the house was mostly great, with a few caveats. The home is spacious, well stocked and well thought out. The back patio is charming and the hot tub was a nice touch. There were a few things that were a little wonky however. The wifi didn't work worth a damn. We could connect, but could never get enough signal to stream a movie or do anything significant. I was less hassle to just turn off the wifi on our devices and use cell data. The stove must have been bought off the clearance rack, it had some quirks, including one burner on the glass-top that isn't located where it is supposed to be? The worst was the people renting the place next door. I don't know how many people they shoved into that place, but they had seven cars, and obviously didn't know that loud hot tubbing at 2am or letting your kids stomp down the stairs at all hours wasn't courteous. All in all we still had a great time, but loud neighbors detracted a bit and a few house upgrades would have been nice.
