Friendly, beautiful home

Lovely old style house in Stone Town, the manager Said is very helpful and organised transport for us at a good price. There's a kitchen and shared social areas so this would be a good place to stay for a few days for a solo traveller.

Nicht empfehlenswert!

Das Zimmer war nach innen gelegen und hatte nur ein Fenster zum Flur. Wäre die Beschreibung genauer gewesen, hätte ich dieses Zimmer nicht gewählt und mir 10,- € gespart. Mein Ansprechpartner war eher desinteressiert und nicht gerade freundlich. Nicht empfehlenswert!

Unfreundlich, ungenaue Beschreibung der Lage des Zimmers.

The property location the facilities and the staff make this property so special

I would have preferred our own private bathroom facilities but the shared ones were clean all the time

Prima Unterkunft für ein paar Tage in Stonetown.

Das Hotel liegt nahe am Stadtkern. Die Zimmer sind einfach gestaltet aber sauber und ausreichend groß. Schöner Frühstück- und Aufenthaltsraum. Schöne Dachterrasse.

We had a great stay at the Balcony House!

The balcony house was in an excellent location in stonetown, and we loved the communal feel. We met other friendly travelers, and the staff were exceptional.

The rooms were pretty basic, though comfortable.

Family friendly, good location & lovely staff

We had a great stay at the Balcony House, they are really family friendly and made our 4 year old feel welcome and safe. Saidi on the front desk was very helpful and kind, we enjoyed his friendly chilled manner. The location was great with a bakery opposite and a short walk to all tourist attractions as well as a nice little water side cafe with affordable food. We felt very at home and want to stay back here at the end of our trip!

We had a very pleased stay at amka house. Michela our host was lovely and helped us in every possible way! The room was cozy and the terrace was perfect to relax or catch some rays. The breakfast was very good and the location is quite good to both go the sea and to the Jambiani shops. We strongly recommend it!

Fantastic staff, nice rooms with beautiful views, the rooms I stayed in were simple but better than what I expected for a long stay, and the fact there was a kitchen and beautiful large communal spaces was fantastic. Very good cleaning, as well as washing facilities.

You can’t miss it, it’s the house with the balcony

I loved to proximity of Balcony house to multiple locations within the city. The views were spectacular as well, along with the most helpful and friendliest of staff ensuring that my stay went as smooth as possible

Clean, neat and safe, central and walking distance to all of Stone Town’s attractions. Lovely view over the rooftops!

Very friendly inkeeper! Clean place and central.

Noise of street below was quite excessive- although it was the end of the Eid festivities.

The bathroom/ toilet was not very clean, and there was no soap or shower gel. For 5 dollars, the breakfast could have been better .

Lovely chilled stay in busy Stone Town!

Beautiful house with open spaces to chill out, nice views from the terraces. Room was a good size, the air con was most welcome! Being able to use the fridge and washing machine was handy. Staff is friendly and helpful. We liked being close to many places to eat. Would stay here again.

The wifi did cut off sometimes but not a big issue. Pillows could be a bit better.

I would definitely come back.

A very nice and laid back atmosphere. You can meet other travellers in the big shared living room. That is nice and what travelling is all about. And it is a lovely place to hangout. It is super central and within walking distance to all the nice experiences in old Stonetown. All family members age 4,12,15,45 enjoyed our stay. Thank you to Said, Said and Laurine for a nice welcome and help to arrange tours and taxi.

Many common areas with aesthetic chairs and tables. Didn’t have to wait for the bathroom. There is a washingmachine that you can use.

It was very noisy, was hard to relax and sleep.

Good budget accommodation

Great location. The room had AC and two fans! Bed was comfortable and large, and I liked the pillows. We used the common kitchen and it was well equipped. There is a washing machine you can use, which I think is rare for budget accommodations.

One of the shared bathroom doors did not close

The staff are lovely and the the building is beautiful. Maybe if we had a different room it would have been perfect.

the location is Amazing ! right we’re you need to be a very safe.

The toilet didn’t flush and the shower didn’t drain properly. We had to hand drain into the sink. Also did not top up with toilet rolls.
