Situated in Blackheath, this charming cottage for $295 per night is a great option for your next vacation. With its clever and unique design, Blue Gum House is suitable for a romantic couple retreat, for a group of friends or a family getaway! Blue Gum House is managed by the owner. Emails, phone calls and messages are answered promptly. Please note, due to the virus situation, chemicals and cleaning procedure have been upgraded. Blue Gum House offers: -Three bedrooms (each with a built in wardrobe), the main bedroom has a king bed, the blue room, a bunk bed (top bed only suitable for a child) and the loft bedroom, a double bed. All beds are made prior arrival. There is a portable baby cot and chair. -Two bathrooms: the main bathroom has an in ground double spa bath, a shower and toilet. The other, a shower and a toilet combined with laundry facilities (washing machine and dryer). One bath towel per person, one hand towel and one bath mat in each bathroom, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand liquid soap, toilet paper and hair dryer are provided. -The kitchen has an electrical oven, gas cook top, microwave, fridge, toaster, electrical kettle, dishwasher, crockery, glasses, cutlery, serving plates and cooking utensils. Cling wrap, aluminium paper, paper towels, tea towels, paper napkins, coffee, tea, sugar, oil, vinegar, salt and pepper are provided. -The kitchen has an open plan onto the dining room area (table and six chairs), the TV area and the slow combustion fire place area, wood provided inclusive to the price. The 37 inches LCD television has the basic paid package paid TV. A DVD, VCR together with CDs, DVDs and videos. Further, there is a collection of books, games boards and puzzles. -An open air paved area with a table and benches, a gas BBQ with two gas bottles looking onto the peaceful garden, with many trees, flowers and birds. -A lawn at the back of the house. Great area to play. Blue Gum House will allow you to experience the true life style of a Blue Mountains local being tucked away form the busy tourist routes. Blue Gum House is situated to a walking distance to Govetts Leap Look out where is the start of many beautiful walks in the world heritage listed Blue Mountains. There are tracks for every fitness level. Blue Gum House is also within walking distance of Blackheath Park. On your way there, you will pass Blackheath open air public swimming pool (Open from October to April). Blue Gum House is situated close to Blackheath village where you can find everything you need: groceries, bakeries, vegetables, delicatessen, news agency, bottles shops and many more! The village has many restaurants: Italian, Thai and Chinese and some take aways: Turkish and fish and chips as well as pubs and cafes. Something not to miss out too, is the very interesting antique shop where you can have trip back in time or visit many art galleries that feature local artists. There are a multitude of things to do... -Walk to the Wildlife Heritage Center, you will be able to learn about the Blue Mountains. -Walk to Govetts Leap look out and Evans look out where is the start of wonderful walks in the Blue Mountains. -Visit the Rhododendron Garden in Bacchante Street, the best time of the year is October and November to admire the 1 500 rhododendrons in the garden. -Drive to the Zig Zag train, worth the ride! -Few minutes drive away from Blackheath golf course. -Walk to the public open air swimming pool (Open from October to April) and swim. -Drive to Megalong Valley where you can do some horse riding. -Drive to Katoomba (15minutes) where you can see the 3 sisters (very touristic). -Drive to Jenolan caves (60 minutes). -Drive to Mount Victoria (30minutes) and watch a film at the old cinema. My daughter and I were in Blackheath for a family occasion and did not spend much time at the property, but from what we saw it would be a great starting point for the walks one can enjoy nearby. (Although at the time of our visit, Govett's Leap was closed - until Feb 2023). The house backs onto bushland and we were visited by rosellas, cockatoos and a possum carrying a young one on her back. The property was clean and well-equipped. Blackheath is chilly in the spring, and we had figured out how to use the slow combustion fire by the end of the week. Marie was quick to respond to our inquiries.

The slow combustion fire was a highlight. This place was cosy and warm. The bed comfortable. The spa bath made relaxing after long bush walking days easy. Close to the best bushwalking spots in area.

My friend and I did some bushwalking around the Blue Mountains and Blue Gum House was a lovely place to call home for the few says we were then. I would highly recommend this property and look forward to staying here again.

We loved our stay at Blue Gum House, it was perfect for a family weekend. Close to great walks with views and also shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs etc for anything you might need. We loved waking up to and coming home to the wood burner fire and the spa bath. The house has everything you need for your stay in it and there were some nice touches for guests. Marie was great to deal with and quick to respond to any questions that we had. We would consider staying here again and could certainly recommend the property to others.

Very clean with a great atmosphere. It’s a comfortable and cosy house with a lovely garden and outdoor areas. We would stay there again. The spa is a bit of a concern because someone could easily fall into it they walked into the bathroom at night without turning the light on!

What an amazing house to stay at! Marie was awesome at answering all my questions before my stay so that I had no concerns before my arrival. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable and the fire place sure kept us warm. The spa bath was large, hot and relaxing after a big day out in the mountains. The kitchen was stocked with everything I needed and it was such a delight to find that there was coffee and tea and a chocolate! I look forward to staying in Blue Gum House again soon and would highly recommend to families for a great place to stay in the mountains. I must admit that I missed having an internet connection, however this forced me to have some real time out!!!

Excellent accommdation
We arrived on a Friday evening for a two day break from very busy lives. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very welcoming. We spent Saturday travelling around the Blue Mountains and then enjoyed a fabulous evening meal at a local restaurant. We did some serious bush walking on Sunday morning before heading back to Sydney.
We will be recommending the cottage to our friends and will be back!

We loved Blue Gum House - it was exactly as described and spotlessly clean. The house is relaxing and comfortable, we had 5 people and it did not feel crowded. We were welcomed with fresh flowers and chocolate, the kitchen is well equipped (although has only just enough place settings for 6), the bedrooms were comfortable. A highlight was sitting in the comfy lounge room watching the mist settle in the beautiful garden. Location was great for our needs - bushwalking, poking around the shops in Katoomba and Leura, visiting Megalong Valley. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

The cottage was very clean and well presented and is very comfortable. Despite very cold weather we were able to stay warm and cosy and the wood fire is lovely! The kitchen is well equipped and the spa bath was awesome after hours of steep climbing on the mountain trails. Be aware that the spa is in the middle of the bathroom though - you need to take care going to the toilet in the dark! Overall a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.
