About this house rental
Nestled in Iowa, this lovely house for £288 per night is a great choice for your next break. Bayward is 3 miles from the GTA Owners Club and 7 miles to Downtown Galena. This home is NOT pet friendly. Bayward Lodge is a spacious 2700 square foot 3 bedroom 3.5 bathroom home, amazing space with more amazing finishes. The large 3 bedrooms feature King beds, the main level features 2 Primary Suites, one has a jetted tub and stand up shower, the other has a bathroom with tub/shower combination. The lower level King bedroom has a shared hallway bath with another private room with a Queen Serta sofa sleeper to comfortably sleep 8 total. The dining room seats 8 and is open to the family room and fully appointed kitchen. Enjoy the wood burning fireplace while cooking, playing games and relaxing. We provide both a Keurig and a regular coffee maker. The lower level is huge with a pool table, flat screen tv, game room, arcade wall game and great access to the backyard, etc. This home boasts an outdoor hot tub with privacy and starry skies, screened in porch, huge front porch with rocking chairs and deck off the back. Don't forget the huge yard and fire pit! (we provide the firewood, you bring the matches). The home is located in the Thunderbay area of the Territory and is near many walking trails and Galena Territory amenities. Just 15 minutes to downtown Galena and only 7 minutes to the popular Galena Cellars Vineyard. Jump in the car and you will be at the GTA Owners Club to enjoy the pools, gyms, fitness center, tennis courts and so much more. Your rental will include some proximity cards that allow you access to the The Galena Territory Owners' Club. This is an exclusive amenity that can be used by only Galena Territory property owners and their guests. "The Owners' Club" includes an indoor swimming pool, outdoor swimming pool w/slides, kiddie pool, fitness room, game room, indoor/outdoor basketball courts, tennis courts, seasonal snack bar, WiFi and outdoor playground. Don't forget to visit Lake Galena, The Shenandoah Riding Center and hiking trails throughout the 6,800 acre property. Please remember usage of the amenities is NEVER guaranteed. We do not discount or refund due their closure. When you book a home with us we will require 30% down, this is a payment not a deposit. The full balance is due 14 days prior to check in. If you cancel prior to the 14 days you will receive the first payment less a $35 cancellation fee. At the 14 day mark your stay will become non-refundable and dates cannot be adjusted. Your payments will automatically be processed to the card you place on file at the time of booking. Your rental agreement (sent after booking) will reflect the due dates and amounts. Our cancellation policy is NOT flexible, we highly recommend travel insurance. Travel insurance is offered at the time of booking and up until 15 days prior to check in. The provider is CSA. Please Note: You will be required to sign an electronic rental agreement at the time of booking, we ask this be signed and filed within 48 hours of receiving to guarantee your reservation. You must be 25 or older at the time of booking and present the entire stay. Check in details are sent 3 days prior to your arrival to the email on file. This includes the home's address, the access code and other pertinent home/area information. Early check in is never guaranteed and cannot be considered until the night before or morning of your arrival. The check in details will cover this process.

Our family of 6 had an excellent time at Bayward Lodge! The Lodge comes with many utensils, a fully stocked kitchen and was well kept. You are truly away from everything, and the night skies are dark and lovely. We like a vacation where we can just hang out together and relax, and we found that at Bayward Lodge.

Stayed with 2 other couples for a weekend getaway. We stayed at this house several years ago, and it has really gone downhill. Paint is peeling off the walls and ceilings. Obvious that water is somehow getting into the walls. The towels that were "clean" and ready for us smelled horrible. And the house just wasn't clean. Very obvious that under tables and chairs it doesn't get cleaned either often or very well. Also the king bed in the lower bedroom needs to have the mattress replaced. Woke up sore every morning. Property was accurately described, but the house needs some serious updates and we would not stay here again.

This was a great place to stay for our annual mid-week outing. We spent a day in Galena and another in Dubuque seeing the sights and dining. But the lodge provided a wonderful place to share in conversation - plus, we used all the special features of the lodge, e.g. hot tub, pool table and outdoor fireplace.

This house if perfect for a family reunion. The 3 bedrooms and 4 baths was perfect for our 6 adults/3 couples. The walkout lower level with pool table and PacMan arcade games was a great gathering area. The great room connected to the kitchen was wonderful for cooking and gathering together. We all loved the house and will be back!

I love the location and how beautiful the yard is. The house meets all of our rooming needs. The three king size beds are wonderful and having a rec room on the bottom gives so much room. Yes to the hot tub which is maintained. The only thing we needed was a broom, dustpan, and a vacuum.

The beds are fine, showers are hot, and it’s very spacious. But for the price to stay, I assumed it would be nicer. The pictures don’t show all of the cracks along the walls in the kitchen. I don’t think any of the interior walls have been repainted since it was built. They are pretty beat up. Yes there is complimentary Wi-Fi but we were unable to access it. The “well appointed kitchen” had no kcups as stated, no baggies, Saran Wrap and only the most basic spices. When it says firewood provided, just bring matches they mean it. No matches, newspaper or kindling. There are only 3 chairs by the fire pit which was not great for 4 people. There are no chairs on the deck off of the living room. The hot tub was stuck at 105 degrees which was a bit much. The bathroom towels are super thick which is great but so scratchy we used our beach towels.
The check in process is easy and the communication prior to arrival was great. The photos of the owners club make everything appear much larger than it actually is, but it is still a really nice facility!
It’s just not a stay again place for us and we were overall unimpressed.

We stayed over they weekend, everything was wonderful. We stayed on the screened in porch most of the time to visit, the tvs were only on before bed. The area is beautiful, house was clean, beds were comfy and I slept all night and never woke up. The surrounding area felt secure and the neighbors were quiet. Wish all my vacations were that relaxing!

The game room/pool table were great for some fun and games during the cold weather days. The hot tub was great and we used it daily. Two couples recently stayed a few nights at this residence and we would highly recommend it for couples or families. The residence is large, clean and very well-appointed. All the furniture was comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. A couple of added bonuses....King beds, great hot tub, full-size pool table and a Mrs. PacMan game. Only 12 minutes from downtown Galena. A great get away!

Our first Christmas away from home (London) and we wanted to find somewhere special. We were hoping for a white Christmas and certainly got more than we bargained for in Illinois. The house was fantastic and plenty of space for 4 adults. We didn't venture out that much apart from heading into Galena due to the weather, but that did not matter as the house had plenty to keep us amused. Would love to return in the future

My husband and I took our 15 yr. old grandson for a mini-vacation. We had a great time. While the home could use a few very minor updates (blinds), we cannot complain. The beds were comfy, it was very clean, and the house was close to the trails. We also enoyed our time at the Owners Club. So much fun!

Overall, our stay was nice. Plenty of room for the 4 of us to spread out. Wood fireplace was a nice added bonus. Easy to access wood during our stay.
This must have been a high time for flies, as we dealt with them quite a bit during our 4 days there. The outdoors could use some tending to, landscaping, general cleaning the sidewalk area of weeds.
The kitchen was adequately supplied. Pans could use some updating and mugs could be bigger. Sure could use a coffee table on the main floor. Downstairs living area was very comfortable.
The home was very clean, linens were nice. Overall, I would recommend this home.

I have to admit, I was beyond thrilled when I walked into this house. It was bigger and better than I had expected, as the basement had a huge living room area, two separate bedrooms and a full bathroom and laundry room. There was a bee problem when we first got there but it was handled swiftly, having people come out and spray right away. We spent a lot of time in the screened in porch, eating lots of meals there. All of the rooms were huge and the beds were extremely comfortable. There was plenty of room outside for the kids to run around as well. And it's only a little over a 10 minute drive to downtown Galena. I would definitely stay here again - thank you for the hospitality.
