EXCLUSIVE SUITE with Amazing Terrace in the heart of Florence Ponte Vecchio
About this condo rental
Nestled in Florence, this lovely condo for £221 per night is a great choice for your next break. On the first floor of a historic building is born Casa Dante, where the dream of an exclusive holiday with a breathtaking view becomes reality. The apartment boasts a large living room from which you can access both the kitchen and the terrace: precious furnishings, original Persian rugs make this structure a charming and timeless place. From the wonderful terrace, you reach the small and well-kept winter garden: an enchanted place that will make your stay exclusive. The building where Casa Dante is located, which takes its name from the hillside ("coast" in the Florentine tradition) named after San Giorgio, is just Oltrarno, 30 meters from Ponte Vecchio and only 10 minutes walk from the Santa Maria Station Novella. The history of the structure is lost in time, preserving only some indisputable traces of its past: among these, the marble inscription of the eighteenth century in which the use of the building as an oratory of Santa Maria Maddalena in the previous centuries is testified. The structure has also been the protagonist of famous films of international cinema. The Costa San Giorgio district is located just Oltrarno, surrounded by some of the most spectacular places in the entire city. Ponte Vecchio - the city's symbolic bridge, was the only one spared at the end of the Second World War. It offers a charming view of the river and houses in the characteristic shops overlooking the street and back room consisting of a cantilever ("sporto") directly on the river, some of the most famous jewelers in the world. The shops were taken from ancient arcades then closed.

Really enjoyed staying here! The house was wonderful, clean, and in a great location. Loved the design and feel of the inside. It was also super easy to walk to some of the main attractions in Florence. However, there was a bit of a mix up in the booking as we were asked to pay extra fees that were not listed. That said, the host was very accommodating and responsive and we were able to figure everything out.

Perfectly located within walking distance of all the sights. Great views from the back patio.

We were in Firenze for a family wedding and we’re very happy we stayed at this location instead of the hotel they had booked. We were able to walk everywhere/ grocery store close by as well as restaurants snd cafes.

We enjoyed our stay at Costa. Was close to a lot of attractions. We had fun meandering around the streets. Found a lot of good restaurants. The host responded to questions quickly. Grocery store was conveniently located.

This location is great, close to all the tourist attractions, and they allowed us to check in early, which was very accommodating. However, our stay didn't match the description. There were supposed to be three bedrooms, but there were only two plus a pull-out couch, with the living room counted as a third bedroom. The air conditioning was also malfunctioning, and when we reported it, it took two hours for the property manager to respond, suggesting we use the remote control, which wasn't the issue; the air conditioning simply didn't cool. We ended up using our own hand fan to sleep because it was uncomfortably hot. Additionally, the shower didn't work properly; we ran it for over 15 to 20 minutes, and it only produced freezing cold water. Despite our numerous messages, our concerns were ignored until the day of checkout when we requested a partial refund due to the inconveniences. They sent someone to check the place on our checkout day and claimed everything was fine, denying our refund request. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.

The apartment was perfect for our family. It was in a nice location for site seeing. It is extremely close to Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi. It is not far to walk to the Duomo. There was air conditioning, two full bathrooms and a cozy kitchen. The outdoor sitting room was great for mid-day and evening rest and relaxation. The only drawback is it is a bit challenging to get luggage to the apartment, but such is life in Firenze.

This was a nice space with old world charm. It wasn’t amazing, but good for traveling with 2 teens and a recent college grad.
It was at the top of a pretty steep hill, so just know there’s some decent walking to do each day to get back up to this location. We liked the size and that it was quiet. The Air Conditioning (AC) was okay for American standards, but it made a world of difference coming in from the 💯+ degree heat!

Loved the location and architecture. Great view from the outside sitting room. Host was awesome.

The property was listed as having three bedrooms. The third bedroom was actually just the living room, which was not clear in the property description. Also, the air conditioners barely kept the rooms at a tolerable temperature.
I found the host to be totally rude in our communications and would never stay at this property again.

The location was great, quiet, and very close to walk to all the sites and shops. The apartment was very nice and the outside area was great. Good communication and check in process. We would come again.

We had a wonderful stay. It was brief, and the property worked really well for our family. Thank you!!

The host (presumably a woman named Serena), offset what was otherwise a great place to stay.
After receiving check-in instructions, only communications from her were to make sure we paid the city tax (borderline rudely). We agreed I would leave it on the table at checkout. I ended up creating a PayPal acct to accommodate her last minute request that I pay it when we got there. No great problem.
I asked to checkout one hour late due to a transportation mixup. Her reply was was “No. Booked.” I took her at her word and understood.
Several hours after leaving, and on way to Venice, we realized we had left a passport in the apt. I contacted her through VRBO and asked if she could express it to us. We would pay her for her troubles. Her reply was, No. we don’t do that.” I then asked if she or someone else could meet us at the apt later in the day and she said no , the cleaner would be there tomorrow and I could ask him then.
I went back the next day. No cleaner. Through VRBO, I contacted her. After pleading with her to please help me at all in this situation, she sent me the phone number of the cleaner, who she knew only speaks Italian, and which she knew I don’t speak. He ended up showing up and letting me in the apt, which had clearly not been occupied as she told me earlier was the reason we couldn’t check out one hour late.
With so many nice places to stay, and with so many welcoming and friendly hosts, I will not choose to give this woman my business again.

We stayed 4 nights in this rental and were very pleased with our accommodations. The place is roomy and in a great location. It was hot but the ACs worked well. The outdoor area was very nice to enjoy the mornings and evenings. Our only negative comment is that the kitchen was not very well supplied. There was only one wine glass. Overall we were very happy with our stay.

The property was advertised as a 3 bedroom. When we got there a roll away was in the living room. We put it in the sunroom so my 16 year old had privacy. It worked since the nights were cool and a fan in the upstairs bedroom was available.
It said a 10 minute walk from the train station. It was more like 25 with a steep hill or stairs depending on the route you chose.
Sabrina was available within seconds on vrbo in which was perfect. And i mean seconds. That was awesome!
The location was perfect for all we had planned and not too close to the touristy areas so it was quiet. The air conditioner in the living room worked perfectly and was great after hot days out. The apartment was very clean and had basics like shampoo and body wash.

Very central to tourist areas. Residence had all the amenities we needed. Would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay in Florence very much. The location was perfect. The patio was lovely. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. The only item we were disappointed in was that it was listed as a three bedroom and there were only two bedrooms. The third bedroom was a pullout sofa and there weren’t any sheets for it. Just blankets. Our main objective in booking this rental was that we would have three bedrooms. Overall we were very happy there.

Property was a delight to stay in. Just minutes away from the Ponte Vecchio and Arno river. If you’re looking for a place that is central to all of Florence’s historical sites and are willing to walk (really, you can’t do Florence without walking) then I can’t recommend this place highly enough!

My family loved our stay in this property! It is so convenient to all Firenze has to offer yet a little removed from the crowds. We spent every evening in the "sunroom" on the terrace as we would wind down from our busy days. I would definitely recommend this apartment.

Great location. Lots of stairs to get the beautiful view which was fine for us but glad we didn't have large luggage. Amenities are exactly as listed not extras like shampoo etc. Property manager was quick to respond but was very frustrated when I missed emails and asked to be paid property tax via PayPal. But overall great location.

Hosts are friendly and communicate great. Checking in/out so easy. Best location in Florence. Simple, lovely apt.. Small kitchen, but gets the job done.

Perfect location on the north side of the Arno away from the crowds. Very clean and well stocked. Nice deck to sit out on. Walking distance to everything.

This place is even more beat than the pictures. Lots of space, clean, bright and sunny. And the sun porch is the best! We ate breakfast out there, afternoon wine, and evening sunsets. And there is an elevator! Serena is a very helpful host and responds quickly to your needs. This was a dream apartment. And close to everything- markets, Ponte Vecchio, restaurants, museums and galleris. Book it!

I was disappointed in this apartment. I found that the description of the apartment did not accurately describe it. The second bedroom is up a steep narrow stairs which was a challenge! The mattresses were like sleeping on a cot. The terrace was nice but overlooked other houses so not so special. We traveled throughout Italy and were always pleased with our rentals. This was the most expensive place we stayed in my opinion not worth it.

Some pluses and minuses to this property. On the positive side, the location was wonderful. Close to the main sights of Florence. We also really enjoyed the terrace room. It's a great place to take in the view and have a glass of wine. It was also great to have a well-working washer/dryer.
On the less positive side, the apartment could have been cleaner (trash left in bathroom, things from previous renters left in the showers). Also, there was no one to greet you when you arrived and go over the logistics (best ways to take advantage of Florence, restaurant recommendations, etc.). Finally, and this is definitely partially my fault, but we received a reminder two weeks before we travelled to leave the room tax on the table at the property. By the time we'd arrived in Florence, I'd forgotten (yes, absolutely my responsibility). It would have been helpful to have that reminder included in the check out instructions along with the details for dealing with the trash and leaving the keys. I felt like the owner was unnecessarily rude about my error and it really dampened the whole experience. DO NOT FORGET YOUR CITY TAX IF YOU RENT HERE!

This is a lovely apartment with bonus outdoor patio. The only problem we had was that mosquitoes were buzzing around at night and several of us got bitten while sleeping. Great location near the Ponto Vecchio bridge.

Costa San Giorgio was amazing. I cannot wait to visit again:). This property was on the 1st floor with a second floor bedroom
/bathroom. The first floor is actually a second floor -
So a flight of stairs or elevator ride is needed to access front door. My parents had some trouble with the incline hike on cobblestone street to get to the vrbo. We had to be thoughtful of how many times they would have to walk up and down to leave. Those of us without mobility issues had no problem with the incline. The outside veranda was our favorite room to be in the morning for coffee and breakfast and again in the evening for Prosecco and lemon cello. Thank you so much for all the good memories!

Great apartment in a terrific location near the Ponte Vecchio. Charming and classic. Had a wonderful stay and can't wait to return when my daughter does a semester abroad in Italy.

Four adults stayed here for a few days in July 2022. There were lots of options for grocery and restaurants nearby. A great location for connecting to the Ponte Vecchio and other sites within walking distance. Very quiet and we had no problem with late night noise from the streets. The rooms were clean and had plenty of space for everyone. My favorite feature was the terrace and a separate walled room outside off of the terrace that had beautiful views. The AC worked well during the record heatwave while we were there. The property is located on a steep hill that can be difficult for taxis to access. It was fine for us, but did make it difficult for my mother in law who has some physical limitations. If you do not, the hill is not bad at all but if someone in your group has any limitations it might be difficult for them. It was nice to have an elevator for the luggage. The host let us check in early which was helpful after our long flight and with the extreme heat.

We loved this property. Was perfect for 2 couples and was in the heart of the action in Florence. Many local restaurants and stores within minutes and great communication with the property manager!

Wonderful apartment
This apartment actually fit 6 of us nicely. The layout is great and the terrace is amazing!! The only downside (which is not the owners fault at all) is the hill leading to the apartment is VERY steep and long. We had two senior citizens with luggage that struggled getting there initially. However, without luggage, there are stairs around the corner which is a nice alternative when just walking. We REALLY appreciated being able to drop our luggage off when we arrived. We would definitely stay here again!

Authentic Florentine Living!
We absolutely loved our stay at this VRBO! Entering the apartment was a breeze and we felt very safe inside. The apartment itself was perfection, it was exactly how we imagined an apartment in Florence to be. The location is beyond amazing!!!! So close to the Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi, and many other famous landmarks. Also extremely close to many amazing restaurants. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

This property was quite conveniently located for access to the Uffizi and other major museums, as well as being a walkable distance to the Santa Maria Novella train station, Pitti Palace, and other destinations. Additionally, there is a supermarket located a short walk -- about a minute or two -- from the apartment.
My only complaints about the property were as follows:
(1) the apartment was advertised as having 3 bedrooms and 4 beds, when in reality there were 2 separate bedrooms (with queen or double beds in them) and a fold-out couch in the living room that 2 people could have slept on. We were expecting 3 separate bedrooms with 4 total beds, based on what was was stated in the listing. But the apartment was quite comfortable for my spouse and I, and one of our adult children.
(2) Blankets, but no sheets, were provided for the fold-out couch; I presume that this was an oversight.
I would definitely stay in this apartment again, but with one or two other persons who could stay together in the second bedroom.
