Located in Smith Mountain Lake, this attractive house for £138 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Spike's Place is located in a small cove with a southern exposure and magnificent 'million dollar' view overlooking the main channel, the Hales Ford Bridge, Smith Mountain and the Bridgewater Plaza just below Bouy Marker R 30. This waterfront unit is one of two rentals in a unique triplex (See Kathy's Place, VRBO Listing #218590) situated on over 2 acres in a single family residential subdivision. A convenience store is 5 minutes away; and grocery stores, restaurants, shopping centers, marinas, boat rentals, movies and the State Park are all within 5 to 30 minutes' drive - some by car and some by boat! The small protected cove is ideal for swimming, fishing, floating, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding and paddle boating with easy access to the lake and only 2 minutes from the Bridge by water, which has restaurants, miniature golf, game room, gift shops, realtors, etc. and our Chamber of Commerce. Spike's Place is a ground level lakefront unit totaling 1400 sq. ft. All rooms are spacious and comfortably furnished. It has 1 bedroom with a connecting bath. The bedroom has a queen bed and a twin bed. All beds have pillow top mattress covers. The large great room has a dinette, full kitchen, living room furniture with a 57' HD Flat screen TV with BLURAY DVD Player. Xfinity TV Service and Wi-Fi High Speed Internet are included. The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel cookware, a cast iron skillet, 17 cu. ft. refrigerator, microwave, blender, toaster, Mr. Coffee coffeemaker and chef knives. The unit has cleaning supplies, vacuum, ironing board, iron and hairdryer. The tiled patio has wrought iron furniture, a porch swing and gas grill (propane provided). It does not have a dishwasher so you might want to bring paper products. All bed linens, bath and kitchen towels along with toilet paper, dish soap, trash bags and courtesy soaps are provided year round EXCEPT FOR THE SUMMER WEEKLY RENTALS. SUMMER WEEKLY RENTERS MUST BRING THEIR OWN BATH AND BEACH TOWELS. The other items listed above will be provided. There are two docks/patio areas with floating docks, diving board and a fish cleaning stand plus electric and water. You will have shared use of 5 kayaks, 2 paddle boards, a paddle boat, canoe, diving board, tubes, noodles, floats and sandy beach with firepit. The dock has access by stairs or golf car ramp. A complimentary golf car will also be provided for your exclusive use (adult drivers only!) during your stay for access to the dock and beach. We also have free trash pick up. We are Pet Friendly provided you have a crate to contain your pet when left alone in the rental; your pet is currently in a flea treatment program 60 days prior to your arrival; and you clean up after your pet. There is not a leash requirement on our property provided your keep your pet under control. The neighborhood is 'casual' and cats and dogs do wander onto the property at times. A $50.00 fee for the first 2 nights and $5.00 for any additional nights per pet will be charged for extra cleaning to keep the unit and yard neat and clean. Any major damage done by your pet will be repaired and billed to you. There is 'No Smoking' inside but ashtrays are provided on the deck and dock areas outside. Please do not throw butts in the year, driveway or lake. Thank you for your cooperation. Loved staying at Spikes Place! Kathy and Spike are both nice folks. The condo/house is great as it comes with a lot of lake toys. I love the SUP and kayaks. Dock is very spacious- even when sharing with other guests. We also did a charter with Kathy that was really great!

There were four men that stayed May 19 to 25. We were there to night striper fish. House was clean and had the full use of both docks and dock house. The fish cleaning station was great with electric and running water. As Spike and Kathy are both guides they also gave us info on where to fish. Great people and we will be back.

The place is even nicer in real life. The view is amazing and the whole place and neighborhood is lovely. Kathy and Spike are super nice and made the check in process very easy. We would come back for sure!

Spike and Cathy are wonderful hosts. The property is beautiful. The place I rented was clean, and cozy. Everything that I needed was in the kitchen. And if you love to fish they are great guides. Plus you can dock your boat right there and even clean your fish at the cleaning station. WE CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK!!!!

Owner of the property called me a week ahead of the stay to give me very clear directions and instructions. The property has a wonderful view of a nice cove as well as parts of the larger lake. The unit was very comfortably furnished and the kitchen was well equipped. Everything was super clean. There's even a very talkative cat that patrols the property and will gladly come if you call it!

Truly an amazing location on this beautiful lake. Spike's place was the perfect size for our small family and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay on Smith Mountain Lake. Kathy was super helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had. The surrounding neighborhood was safe and peaceful. We were so thankful for the opportunity to stay and look forward to making another trip soon.

Description of place was accurate, Spike and Kathy are excellent and available for any needs you have. If we had more time would have asked to go on fishing trip with them. We had very good time and spent Thanksgiving there. Considering going there next summer and renting the larger unit.

My fiancé and I had an amazing time at "spikes place" the condo was perfect, clean and comfortable. The property was gorgeous with beautiful views of the Lake and mountains. The extra amenities were a plus too! We loved the paddle boat and paddle boards! Kathy was so nice and super helpful! We will definitely be a repeat guest!

House was great and in a great location. Kathy and Spike are awesome as a host and hostess. Very accommodating, knowledgeable and accessible. They present a complete package, house, guided fishing charters, knowledge and information on the surrounding area, and the presence of a great new friendship if you are open and wanting to make that connection. They were fully available, but not intrusive or overseeing even though they live in a property on the premises. This is their means to make a living but it truly shows that they love what they do! We used Kathy as our fishing guide and we had a great day on the lake with her. The charter leaves from their dock on the property you are renting, making it super convenient. We have already plans in the works to bring our family next year. Definitely one of our most enjoyable rents on VRBO.

This is a beautiful condo with amazing views of the lake. The hostess was friendly and gladly helped us get our boat to the dock and showed us everything we needed to know for a perfect week. The condo was super clean and well set up so you don't have to run to the store for minor things. Smith Mountain Lake is huge lake and you can see something new each day you venture out. I highly recommend Spike's Place for your next lake vacation. We are looking forward to when we can go back!

The place was very comfortable for a family of 4 and a dog. Views are great and we spent a lot of time in the water right off the docks. Kathy and Spike are great hosts, ready to help with any request. I strongly recommend a fishing trip with Kathy or Spike while you are staying with them. We didn't just have fun but also guaranteed ourselves good dinners for the entire week.

Great place to stay, the view of the lake and the access to two docks and all kinds of water toys made this a great vacation. The hosts are super nice, Kathy even gave us veggies from her garden. Also, The location makes it a perfect spot to go to many national and state parks!!!

Second time at SML and we picked Spike's for the stunning view right outside the patio. Serene, calming, and just plain beautiful! Kathy and Spike were wonderful hosts. We even had fresh herbs to cook dinner with from the garden! We will be back, and we had an absolute delightful stay.

Kathy & Spike were warm and welcoming. We had fun canoeing, paddle boating, from their dock and hiking in near bt SML State park. Evenings sitting on the back porch looking over the lake were so nice.
