A perfect house for our family. Myself, my sister, daughter and son in law had plenty of space, 3 separate bedrooms, 3 separate bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen and a store around the corner for supplies. Wonderful outdoor space. Gated property. Communication with Zelda was a breeze. She was very helpful explaining how appliances worked and places to explore. We loved our stay!!!! Thank you!!!

I stayed at this property with 4 friends, two of whom were a married couple. We loved this place! It was spacious, had plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms and was incredibly well-stocked. It is walking distance from town and the marina. The grocery store is literally in the back yard. It could not have been better! Zilda met us at the house when we arrived. She spent a lot of time walking us through the home and how everything works — the stove was tricky so instructions were much appreciated! We went to the grocery store and ran into Zilda. Thankfully, because we needed help with Portuguese labels. She was available every time we needed her and checked in daily to see if we needed anything. This was an incredible experience and I will definitely return!

We enjoyed our stay using the property as a base camp for lots of hikes in the wilderness as well as urban walks to dinner and happy hour near the water in Horta. Zilda was a great host helping us plan hikes and with restaurant recommendations.

We loved the house and location. AC would be a nice touch since it gets bit stuffie over night and road gets busie very early , so open windows do not help much with a sleep. Loved that store was next door and we could walk to the town. Million dollar view from the porch. Great assistance from the manager and the owners.

House is well located in Horta with a fantastic view on Pico Island. Bedrooms are large and there are 3 bathrooms. When the weather is fine, you can use the terrace which is great.

Great location, amazing view, and everything you need
This place is at the top of the hill with an EXCELLENT view of Pico. It's great to wake up and take a look at the mountain. It's very large, well laid out, and has all the amenities. Having 3 bathrooms is a real luxury. Washer AND dryer make are super useful so you don't have to pack as much. It's also located right next to the grocery store, so it's an easy hop up to the market if you want to cook or get supplies. Zelda is a great host, as always and we really enjoyed meeting Lordes.

Incredible, comfortable, with a gorgeous view!
The place is impeccably kept, beautiful, new and comfortable. The best part is the view of Pico, from all windows and out on the deck (it's just as pictured!) Zelda, the manager, was extremely helpful and friendly. Not a single problem. The location is away from the downtown, which makes it very quiet (not that Horta is noisy!) and there are farms around the corner. You can hear the pleasant mooing of cows in the pasture. Peaceful! It's a pleasant walk to the downtown area, and right around the corner is a grocery store to get everything you need, including a cafe, so you can get your morning espresso and some pastries. When we return, we would definitely stay here again. Thank you Zelda for making our stay perfect!

Perfect Home Away from Home
A super clean, very spacious, comfortable house with spectacular views just above the town center of Horta. It is also conveniently located just below the grocery store so it was easy to supply with good, fresh local foods. The walk to and from town is about 10 minutes. It's steep, but easy and quite nice after exploring or going to any of the many local eateries. Zelda, the property manager, is amazingly accommodating and helpful. We would definitely stay here again on a return trip to Horta!

Our family of 4 adults and 3 small children stayed here for 6 nights. The apartment is very clean and kept. The amenities are as promised. The apartment shows true to the pictures listed on the website. The views were spectacular. Freezer had an ice maker!!! Horta can get hot but the apartment has modern windows and doors allowing for shade and for a nice breeze with screened windows. Zelda was a great help in orienting us to the island and the owner who lives nearby brought us fresh towels. Proximity to groceries is maybe 50 steps, a wonderful perk. 5 stars all around!

She also sat down with us ro go over our planned activities and helped us set up a tour around Fayal island the next day and a Pico island tour the say after that. She called and arranged everything with her great contacts right then and there. She also gave us recommendations on restaurants.
Zelda was very welcoming and made us feel like she was there to make our trip the best, which she did!

Fantastic apartment
From the moment we made the reservations to stay at Repouso do Milhafre, Zelda was a great help in making plans for our family reunion on Faial to celebrate the 100 year that my Grandmother immigrated to the United States. Zelda answered all my questions quickly and set up the most amazing taxi tour of the island with Victor Goulart. Thanks to Victor we were able to find the property where my Grandmother was born. Zelda was also extremely helpful setting up taxis for all of my family when they arrived and departed the island plus an amazing taxi tour on Pico.
The apartment is modern, clean and exceeded all of our expectations. The furniture is very comfortable and the apartment is equipped with everything we needed. The views of Pico from every room was a bonus along with the close proximity of the grocery store.
My daughter and family were allowed to check in early and when our departure flight was delayed, we were allowed to stay at the apartment even though the owners were waiting to clean the apartment. Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality.
I highly recommend the Repouso do Milhafre Apartment. Everyone (Zelda, Victor and the owners) went out of their way to make our stay an amazing adventure. Thank you to all.

Perfect house- loud street
We stayed here for a scuba focused trip to the Azores. The house is clean and modern with an amazing view of Pico. The kitchen is well equipped and we hosted 13 people easily for a cook out. The outdoor space is perfect and allowed us to rinse and dry dive gear safely in the locked courtyard. Having the grocery store around the corner was fantastic- it is open from 8-9 daily and has all you need. We had a rental van to explore the island and shuttle the group and gear to the dock. It is a 10 minute walk downhill to the main street, a moderate uphill to get back. Zelda is responsive and quick to answer emails or calls. I requested fans for the bedrooms and had them the next day.
The downside is noise. The house sits right on the street, and due to very warm weather and no air conditioning we had all the windows open at night. The popularity of scooters and motorcycles means loud vehicles pass your bedroom window randomly at all hours. I slept with earplugs every night and was ok, but some others in the group suffered with the noise. So this is a fantastic house in a somewhat unfortunate location. The traffic and noise from traffic is not constant- but a loud one comes by often enough to be annoying. We hit a warm spell and needed the windows open- if the windows were closed it would have been fine.
I do recommend the house, but be prepared.

Lovely, well kept vacation home.
My family and I enjoyed our stay at Repouso do Milhafre. The place is spotless, and very well maintained. Beautiful views of Pico and the convenience of a grocery store a minutes walk away are hard to beat. Zelda was a great host and was very quick to respond to any questions we had. She also had lots of great suggestions for making the most of our holiday. We loved the town of Horta and the island of Faial!

Repouso do Milhafre - Horta
The Repouso do Milhafre guesthouse is a very good place for a weekend hide away in Faial island. I was really happy to be able to accomodate my friends over a couple of days while visiting me on the island. They were really happy with the house and they had a great time. It has plenty of room for 7 people. Nice dinning area and lots of bathrooms.

Perfect equipped apartment with a great view
The very well equipped, clean and spacious apartment is situated on a hill above Horta but in walking distance to the harbour (1 km).
Behind the appartment (not visible) is a supermarket, so you do not need a car to stock up on food. From almost all rooms you have got a perfect view on the harbour and Pico. Very functional wifi and even a first-aid kit in the cupboard!
The owners live nearby and are very friendly.
Zelda, the property manager welcomed us with great kindness and has a lot of information of everything about the island. We would defintiely stay here again.
A pity that we have had only five days here.

The house was very modern, it had everything we needed on vacation, nothing was missing. Since there were no stairs inside the house the kids ran around the hole house and backyard freely. elda when we got there. we will reeturn for sure. awesome vacation

Good location and nice apartment
We had a great time - and benefitted from great service from both Zelda and the home owners.
The house is all new, has a nice view of Pico mountains and within walking distance from the center of Horta.
The beach is also within walking distance and The super market is just around the corner.
Only negative is some noise from the street in front of the house.

What can we say?
The house exceeded our expectations and was excellent value. Location is superb and all facilities we need only a short drive away.
The spacious design of the house allows natural light through it all day, and gentle sea breeze keep things cool, even in August
The Kitchen is top spec and have all we needed. Furniture all high quality and very comfortable. All rooms kept spotless.
We spent many evenings on the terace and enjoyed the amazing view to Pico.
Our stay in Faial will remain in our reminder.

A nice house!
Our stay at Milhafre was very pleasant. We found the house very spacious and clean, and the fact that it was situated so close to the supermarket was very convenient. Zelda was very helpful with everything. We hope to be back one day!

Parfait !
Cette maison, divisée en 2 niveaux indépendants mais que l’on peut louer en entier, est une vraie réussite. Capable d’accueillir une famille, même grande, ou un groupe d’amis elle peut héberger jusqu’à 12 personnes dans des conditions de confort et d’intimité parfaites.
Le plan, que l’on devine travaillé avec soin et intelligence, offre de grands espaces soit pour s’isoler soit pour se retrouver. L’équipement de la maison est particulièrement complet et de qualité, les rangements nombreux, chaque chambre dispose d’une salle de bains. La vue sur le Pico de toutes les pièces est magnifique. La localisation sur les hauteurs d’Horta procure une grande tranquillité sans être isolés (le petit supermarché à 2 pas est bien pratique). « Connected people » pas de soucis : wi-fi efficace, TV et ses périphériques « up to date », connectique complète dans toute la maison. L’accueil a été confié par les propriétaires, que l’on félicite pour la qualité de leur réalisation, à Zelda, véritable ambassadrice des Açores et qui fera tout pour vous rendre le séjour agréable.
Faial est décidément la bonne option pour une découverte de l’Archipel (Pico à 20’ et quelques euros, Sao Jorge pas très loin) et les efforts qui ont été faits ces dernières années pour la mise en valeur d’un patrimoine et d’une histoire étonnement riche et diverse rendent le séjour encore plus passionnant.
Bonne nouvelle pour les habitants du grand ouest français : la TAP ouvre à partir de juillet 6 rotations par semaine sur Lisbonne, 2 d’entre elles permettront un vol Nantes Horta via Lisbonne dans la journée, raison supplémentaire de découvrir (ou de redécouvrir) ce magique archipel ; pour notre part, fidèle depuis bientôt 30 ans, nous revenons toujours ici avec bonheur, sans nous lasser.
