Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt :-)

Die Zimmer und das Haus sind sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr hübsch und kreativ gestaltet. Alles war sehr sauber und Küche und Bad sehr hübsch und gut ausgestattet. Vielen Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt!

Adorable guesthouse and kind staff!

Beautiful room and guesthouse - you will enjoy the design and decoration (ours was sea themed). The beds were comfy and the terrace was a cute addition to the room. Staff is very friendly and accommodating as well. The town itself is a cute beach town that is not too far from Furnas. Keep in mind that there is a bar very close by, so you might hear some noise from that.

I only wish there was a fan provided during the hot summer weather.

Lucia is a super host, always available to help. The house was very nice, with a very authentic interior. There is everything you'll need for a short or even long stay.

Passable

The owner was great and accommodating. Easy to communicate with and very responsive. The accommodations are very clean and well maintained. Nice view from the terasse.

Perhaps I didn’t read enough about the property prior to booking, so bad on me. This accommodation would be good value for backpackers or young groups sharing rooms, but is not for family vacation. We had 3 single beds, no air conditioning. It was like a sauna, so had to leave the windows open to try to sleep, only to have a noisy bar below with music, screaming, motorcycles passing, etc until very late. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, so will try to be constructive. If tour’’ré looking for basic shared accommodations on a budget, in a good location then this is your place. But for a comfortable family vacation look elsewhere.

I'd love to come back there again

excellent climatic place; it is separated from the ocean only by a rarely traveled road; amazing views; nice reception by the owner; room with a terrace with a nice view of the mountains and the sea; purely; comfortable bed; stable internet access with good speed; easy parking (on the street); nice arrangement of the living room and kitchen

Lúcia is a super host, always friendly and helpful. I liked all the details of the house, very interesting handmade upcycling. Room comfortable, shared bathroom every 2 rooms, all clean. Good beach 100mt from house

Lovely decoration (inspiring) and great facilities for backpacking Travelers, welcoming and attentive host, beautiful location. Lovely cats as well 🐈

Our host told us to ask for a blanket if we were cold, which we were a little bit at 3am, which wasn't a proper hour to ask for a blanket, so it would be better if the blankets were present in the rooms as a standard 😄 Not enough to interfere with our great experience!

A little gem in the heart of Sao Miguel

- Avó da Rosa is a lovely accommodation in Ribeira Quente. The town is little and the house is easy to find and close to supermarkets, restaurants, beach and beach bar, and bars. - The house is truly a work of art. Every room is different and the impressive decorations are hand-made (Lucia's mom mainly does them). - The kitchen, communal bathroom, and bedroom are well equipped, with all needed amenities. - Our host Lucia was the best part of this trip. She's kind, and open to sharing great tips about local spots and about her experience living in the Azores. I learned quite a lot about the Azorian culture and I'm grateful we met at the beginning of our journey as it helped me appreciate more the rest of it.

- The mattress was too hard for my taste and the bed frame squeaked quite a lot when moving. It made it difficult to sleep, but I have issues falling asleep if noise is around. - Ribeira Quente is a bit off the grid - which we loved but can be challenging if travelers don't have a car to go around.

Located at sea front, home filled with charm & heart.

Convenient location close to Furnas hot springs. Beautiful room & wonderful host Lucia, who dedicated time to provide me with explicit details about hiking trials, weather condition & local transport. Thank you ever so much :)

Great stay

Very cute and comfortable. My favorite spot is the lounging area - hole in the wall, next to the dining area. Very nice kitchen. Comfortable bed and bedroom.

Superb

Loving decorated and the warmest host, Lúcia went out of her way to be kind and helpful and we were grateful to meet her! We stayed very off season in November and in the village there was only one place to eat offering bar snacks (fries, pizza), so we cooked instead. We loved the wonderful dramatic beach and sunsets. You will love staying at Avo da Rosa and the fishing village of Riberia Quente with its working harbour and cafés full of characters!

Not a dislike, more a comment: We are quite tall and had to be very mindful not to bang our heads, it is a charming mid C20th architecture with low ceilings and small doorways. The bed is also quite short, we slept well but not fully stretched out. If you are smaller than 165cm there will be not problems!

Lovely place to stay on Azores

This place is adorable and I would definitely come back again. I had 2 weeks of "workation" and stayed with my small dog in Lucia's house. Location is just perfect: small fishing village, in a very calm area, 15 mins to Furnas by car, 2 min-walk to the fantastic Fogo beach. Shared kitchen has everything you need so I cooked almost all the time. The internet connection is great and you can easily work remotely enjoying the ocean view. The house is very clean and cozy with many handmade decoration which make this place unique. Lucia was a great host: very welcoming, friendly and helpful, we had easy and fast communication. If you want to feel the true Azorean spirit and escape from people, this location would be definitely one of the best on the whole island. Highly recommend for short and also long term stay!

clean, fine location only short walk from beach, excellent shared kitchen facilities (useful as restaurants closed when we were there). very pleasant and helpful owners. very good value. we had the triple with a very good terrace with a fine sea view. very clean shared bathrooms. great value.

The had a very nice decor, we also loved the sofa between the walls a lot. Also the size of the bathroom was very nice too + they have a rain shower!

The bed was a bit small, my boyfriends feed couldn't fit in (Dutch)1.85m.

A great place to stay. The owners live upstairs and are very friendly and helpful. The place is very nice and comfortable and also very clean.. The beach is a 2 minute walk away. I would highly recommend this place to others.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful place

When we came we were greeted by Lucia - such a difference to other accommodations in Azores where you do not meet anyone at the accommodation. We had the bigger room with the terrace. The room was very spacious and comfortable with very comfortable beds. Terrace is facing the sea and it is just perfect for having a breakfast there. The room and the whole house has a very nice design and it is nicely decorated - it was apparently decorated by Lucia and her mother. There is a mini market next to the appartment which is very handy.

Loved every moment.

This place was an absolute highlight during my stay. The hosts were absolutely adorable and welcoming, the house itself is absolutely amazing. The interieur design and furnishing is really beautiful and done with so much love to details, from the colour concept to the details in the fabrics. Very thoughtful setup of the kitchen and living room, I really enjoyed them after a long day exploring the islands. I´ll surely be back if possible. Ribeira Quente itself is a beautiful and amazing place, so the combination of this house in this location is just perfect.

It spoilt me - after staying there, it´s hard to be happy in other places ;)

Very good

Nice place. Very individually decorated. Big kitchen with all the stuff you will need. Lucia is a very nice host and respondents quickly to all our questions. Check in was easy at any time with a self check in.

The bed was a bit short (purple room). So for people taller than 1.60 m it won't be very comfortable. People from the bar at the beginning of the road are a bit noisy. Bring earplugs and it's gonna be ok.

Wonderful location, just a short walk to gorgeous black sand Fogo Beach. Friendly owner and staff. Claudia, you should emphasize your closeness to the beach! Add a photo or two of Fogo!

not to the standard of hosting couple looking for quiet nights

Lucia was really helpful

the bed is extremely small both in height and width making it not proper for a couple , the doors and room is very very bad isolated from other room and the shared area (you will hear everything), though not advertised on booking people can smoke in the first floor and the smell stays and goes in the room. overall for the price paid, it really isn’t worth it at all.
