Florence Roof Terrace Apartment View of Cathedral Dome
About this condo rental
This characteristic two bedroom apartment is located on the top floor (fourth) with an elevator of an old Florentine liberty style palazzo. It is located in the heart of Florence one half block from the cathedral square. This is a no traffic street. The flat has the most spectacular view of the Cathedral Dome with its lovely rooftop terrace (unforgettable views). It is situated on two floors. The entry level houses the two bedrooms (one with two single beds and one with a double bed) and 2 bathroom with a shower stall. On the next floor (reached by a small wooden stairway) there is the living/dining area and small (but functional) kitchen alcove. There is a lovely corner fireplace in the living area. Up a few steps is the study area with a day bed (single) and its spectacular view of the Cathedral dome. From the study you enter the terrace. The terrace has outdoor furniture and a big sun umbrella. The furnishings are comfortable and reflect the owners many travels to the far east. We are a family of three: my husband is a doctor, my 30 year old son and I am a math teacher. We are native Florentines and we live on the third floor of the building. Our English speaking skills are fairly basic so please be patient and excuse any mistakes when responding.....thank you. P.S. From my precedent American guest. We stayed at a delightful place in Florence and want to let you know about the place. It is no problem communicating with Angela by e mail but she does not speak English although her 30 year old son, Marco, speaks English. The location is fantastic ! It is about a 10 minute walk from the train station and smack in the middle of everything. As a matter of fact, when you step out of the building you are in one of the main thoroughfares and surrounded by about 4 restaurants and stores. Amazing thing is that when you are in the flat you cannot hear the street noise at all .. it is only when you are down on the ground floor about to step through the door that you hear the street noise. So, you find number 11 .. press Angela's flat (she lives on the 2nd floor and the flat is on the 3rd floor) and she meets you at the door. You go through the old main door .. then an iron gate .. then up a short stairs and you come to the elevator; which is amazing in itself. It is a modern elevator but will hold only 2 people .. or one with bunch of luggage. The unit itself is on 3 levels .. as you enter there are 2 bedrooms and 2 bath (shower) on the main floor. This can sleep a couple in the double bed room .. and two singles (or 3 as there are also 1 extra bed!) or other couple in the other room. The you walk up a short set of stairs and you arrive in the living room which has a fire place .. dining table and comfortable chairs. Also a kitchen well equipped whit microwave , mini oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher washing machine. The you go up one more level to the study; which is attached to a marvelous roof top deck with fantastic view of the Florence sky line. The study has a wonderful couch where one more person can sleep (sofa bed) . Other than that .. what a find. The location is perfect .. I love all the restaurants and shops around her place .. And we lit the fire in the fireplace and it was marvelous .. to be able to make a cup of tea in the kitchen .. on an on .. Keywords: Apartment

Wow what a great stay. My husband and i were in Florence for about 10 days and used this VRBO during our time and we enjoyed every minute. The check in process was very smooth and apartment was relatively easy to find. We took a cab from the airport and it was about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. We were greeted by the host when we got into the building and he helped us get settled in the place and gave us a quick tour. Very personable, helpful and friendly. The kitchen was perfect to use for breakfast and a few dinners here and there, the top floor dining table was really cute and, of course, that view! It doesn't even look real and pictures don't do it any justice, it was just amazing! One of the highlights of the trip was that we got to watch a ton of fireworks for new years eve and we didn't even have to leave the apartment! It was an amazing sight. In the area, there is so much to do. Restaurants literally everywhere, plenty right outside the building. Bars very close, if you're into records make sure to visit Move On, a bar very close to the VRBO that sells vinyl records on the second floor. There is a supermarket right outside the building also and we got lots of food so we didn't have to eat out every meal. The train station is very close by, we were walking around one day just trying to familiarize ourselves with the area and the train station was about a 10minute walk away. I can go on and on because i genuinely enjoyed this place so much 10/10 would recommend

We stayed here as our 1st place for our trip to Italy. We came for my daughters 21st. Location is great & we had a blast!

We all loved the apartment, especially having the rooftop terrace and the location, which was fantastic. There was nothing better than sitting overlooking the sites first thing in the morning with a cup of tea.
The apartment had lots of space. The kitchen was sufficient for what we needed. It was great to have two bathrooms.
Just outside the apartment door was a supermarket and lots of others shops and restaurants, so really central to everything, not forgetting the Duomo on the doorstep.
Sandro and Francesco greeted us on arrival. They were lovely and so friendly. Sandro showed us around and had even left us a bottle of wine. Sandro also kept in touch during our stay to make sure everything was ok.
We hope very much to return. I can't recommend the apartment enough.

Great communication. Short walk from the train station. Centrally located in Florence - close to everything. Served us well on our vacation. The view from the rooftop can’t be beat! Enjoyed our stay.

If you love the old library feel, warm, comfortable and nostalgic, along with being at the center of everything. This is the place. Marco met us upon arrival, showed us around. Really warm welcome. The rooftop will not disappoint. So wonderful. We'll stay again when we come back.

We loved our stay, especially time on the terrace with its stunning view of the Duomo and Tower! Sandro was a very attentive host, and he’s right downstairs if you need anything. There was plenty of room for my husband and myself in one room and my sister in the other. She had a spare bed, so, at least, one more person could have stayed with no problem.
The location is convenient to all the major sites and very close to the Santa Maria Novella train station.
We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

We loved the stay here. My wife and I went for our anniversary celebration and love the location. This was our third time staying here and every time was very enjoyable. The location is great for visitors as everything is close by. We will definitely be looking at this location again in the future. We hope by the time we return we are allowed to bring children.

Our best apartment ever!
This place had old world charm, great location and great hosts!! The views from the rooftop deck were outstanding (even better in real life than the pictures showed!). This was our first visit to Florence in the winter and the weather was great and the crowds were very small. The apartment provided a great place to unwind and if you're looking for a rental in Florence, this is the one I would recommend.

Perfect!
Angela and Sandro are wonderful hosts! They were very accommodating when we arrived in Florence exactly 12 hours later than scheduled. We felt so bad checking in at 11pm, but they were pleasant and took the time to show us everything in the apartment. They even sent a follow up email the next day to make sure everything was OK and wish our son a Happy Birthday! As for the apartment, it is centrally located and we walked everywhere. Shopping, food and attractions were just steps away, but it was perfectly quiet inside. It rained 75% of our entire Italy trip, but whenever it wasn’t, we popped up to the rooftop terrace. We didn’t have time in Florence only being there a few days, but if you have time, get some food and wine and enjoy dinner on the terrace! Beds were comfortable and 2 bathrooms were very helpful. If we visit Florence again, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Fantastic
This place was amazing. Just one alleyway away from the Duomo, cobblestone street for pedestrians only, and a million dollar view from the roof terrace. Restaurants and shops downstairs, short walk to the train station, even shorter to the market. Location, location, location. The apartment itself was great as well, pictures and description were accurate. Sandro and Angela live downstairs, very friendly and available if you need them. Overall...highly recommended!

Best Patio on earth !!
We had a incredible time at Angela’s apartment . The location is A+ . In 3 days we never took a taxi ! We walked everywhere and saw as much a humanly possible in 3 nights . The view and size of patio is honestly the best your ever going to get in Florence . Just sitting out on that deck so close to the Duomo is a vacation in of itself !! I could go on and on about it but you’ll have to see it for yourself . The apt is large and you really feel your in Italy ! We have zero complaints ! The elevator is a HUGE plus !! Everything went smoothly and we already can’t wait to go back and stay there again !!

Perfect location
My family of four had a wonderful stay in Florence. I do not know if we would have enjoyed it as much if we were not staying in such a great location. Angela and Sandro were great hosts and provided advice as only a local can. The apartment is only 1/2 block from the Duomo and 1/2 block from the Basilica di San Lorenzo and the Medici Palace. There is a market, cafe, and a dozen restaurants on the street below.
The apartment itself is a little austere and the kitchen is very small. We never cooked, so it was not a problem. It actually consists of four levels, so if stairs are a problem you would be limited to the bedrooms and bathrooms. The rooftop patio makes up for it all.
Out travel to and from Florence was by train and it was about a 15 minute walk from the the train station to the apartment (with our luggage) but once we were there we were set. Upon arrival in Florence I had not gotten any reply emails (I think there was a delay due the emails coming from Italy to me in Italy), and I goofed up a digit in their phone number so finding the apartment was a little difficult but google maps was spot on. I would suggest installing “WhatsApp”, which is used extensively in Italy. Sandro replies almost instantly to all my texts during our stay.
Since there was four of us I would have rented two hotel rooms. This apartment is a great alternative. In short it was great.

Two couples from Vermont, USA
Everything from booking the appartment to checking out was incredibly easy. We were greeted with Sandro waving to us out the window, buzzing us in, then helping us up the stairs with our luggage. Angela was waiting for us as well and gave us a quick tour of their fabulous appartment. As advertised the appartment is very quiet at night which was wonderful. The roof terrace is breathtaking! The entire appartment was extremely comfortable. The elevator worked perfectly, but the climb up the stairs daily was a great for working off the daily wine and gelato. The location was better than we had expected!! The street is actually one of the few where cars are restricted. We also booked a tour with ToursByLocals and our guide, Eleanora, met us at our door since it was so centrally located. An extra bonus is
that Sandro and Angela live in the appartment below. Highly recommend this appartment and we would definitely stay there again. Thanks so much to Sondra and Angela!!

Wonderful apartment in great location
We had an outstanding week in this apartment. It was big, clean, and a short walk from everything. Getting there was extremely easy using the new tram line (1.5 euro); short walk from the final stop. Angela and Sandro were perfect hosts. They provided all of the information we needed and some fine restaurant recommendations. They even mailed us a forgotten item. The view from the terrace was just like in the picture; we enjoyed relaxing there after a busy day of sightseeing. The lift was a welcome feature as well, as the apartment is on the top floor. Although Florence was quite crowded for Easter week, the apartment was very quiet. The beds were comfortable. Just a wonderful week!
