This is in a great location and I liked that it was it's own standalone unit. It's cozy and has a decent amount of amenities but there were a few issues with cleanliness and upkeep.
First was the hot tub. It was absolutely disgusting and not usable. There were no chemicals put in it for at least a few weeks, and the water had tons of floating particles and smelled terrible. Needless to say it didn't get used.
The hand soap in the bathroom was mostly watered down, and the washer and dryer smelled pretty bad. Luckily we only washed some towels and none of our own clothes.
The kitchen cookware was not cleaned properly, and the only dish soap was some weird foaming stuff that didn't have a proper dispenser.
It had snowed 5cm the night before and none of the snow was cleared, we had to do it all ourselves and there was no salt for the stairs. I'm surprised none of us slipped and fell down the stairs all weekend. It was a huge liability for Susan if you ask me.
Regarding the upkeep of the property, I assume Susan doesn't care anymore as she just cashed out a huge amount from the property, which had a sold sign on it. I hope the new owners can bring it back to what it once was.
The other problem was actually with the VRBO app experience. This doesn't reflect on the overall 3 star rating however. Not enough character limit to explain but it could have been better.

The first thing we noticed upon arriving was that the property is FOR SALE....
The location is convenient as you can leave the car and walk into town.
We did not have Wifi during our 4 nights which was extremely inconveneint as we had to leave the apartment and go into town to connect with work. It also make communicating with the owner challenging.
A broken coffee pot was replaced mid visit which was appreciated.
The chalet was comfortable for 3 people.

The house was spotless, the hostess charming and responsive, a block from downtown. Private and parking spot there. Bus stop 1/2 block. Great jacuzzi. Fantastic time!

The location was very convenient to town if you want to walk to local shops/restaurants. Perfect location for our day trips to Lake Louise, Lake Moraine and the Icefields. We absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend the Poplar Inn. Our host Susan was very pleasant and quick to respond to our questions/requests.

Had a fabulous 10 nights at this property. Would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere close to town. Would stay again if we’re ever lucky enough to come back to Banff.

This property was just right for us - for a mom's weekend get away. We loved the charming home and amenities. We were nestled right into the mountains and town of Banff. We had no trouble walking to downtown shopping, dining and nearby trails. So relaxing and comfortable. We had a lovely stroll home from an Alberta food tour of the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel. Susan was very responsive and helpful. We had a a great stay, thank you!!

This place is walking distance from everything! We didn’t use our car unless we were visiting some place outside of town. I would definitely return.

We loved our stay here. It was a very clean, bright, pleasant place to stay. Susan was great to work with. It had everything we needed. We would love to stay here again when we return to Banff. The property is right in Banff so was close to everything we needed in the town. But after a full day it was a very pleasant , quiet retreat to return to. Love it!

Amazing location and incredibly easy to find! This is the cutest property and easily walkable to the main streets. The only minor issue was the train during the night, which was in other reviews so we were prepared(ish). Super clean, friendly and great space!!

The property is within walking distance to Banff, its an excellent location. When we arrived, we found that the wi-fi wouldn't work, the wi-fi name wouldn't show up on our I-phones. It was never resolved and the owner was rather cavalier about the whole thing. Banff is an internet town, restaurant reservations and tows are all online. I had some service via my phone and got along. The place had a microwave but none of the dishes were microwave safe, so they were unusable. All the places we have ever visited had a note book full of places to go and things to do, not here, you're on your own. I'd say there was minimal effort put into this endervor.

Suzan was very nice and responsive. The place feels very homey, a great location, and we would love to come back there one day!

We had a lovely stay. The apartment was clean and spacious and the location meant that everything was within walking distance. The outdoor deck was nice (it was +30C) and the apartment cooled off quickly in the evenings because of the breeze you get being up on a second story. The apartment s close to the rail line (600 feet?) so there is periodic train noise (whistles) and a very slight shaking when heavy trains would run through. We thought it was quaint, but it might not be for everyone.

Loved the fact that we could walk pretty well anywhere in the townsite from here. Quiet and comfortable. The only drawback was that there was no oven- just a stove top. A toaster oven would fix that easily.

We stayed here for a couple of nights. Location is fabulous, has a large deck which we were unable to enjoy because of winter & we just didn’t have time. Be aware no oven. Very close to Timmy’s as well.

We had a really nice stay at Susan's apartment. A queen and a double bed worked out great for us and our girls. It's in a great location to downtown Banff.Only complaint is that we had a bit of a hard time finding it when we arrived. After that everything was perfect. I'd stay there again for sure.

This was the perfect place for my adult son and I to use as a home base while visiting my youngest son. We were able to have meals together here, and spend some time together. The unit is clean and bright and we enjoyed using the outdoor seating area. The unit is within blocks of great restaurants, nice trails and the grocery store. I would definitely stay here again.
