Very convenient location in a great neighborhood in the canal ring. Close to tram lines. Very comfortable bed. Overall a great place to stay in Amsterdam. Thanks Steve and Eugenie!

The apartment is comfortable, a little funky, in a quiet bit of a very busy area. The cafe across the street is a fantastic amenity, able to provide everything from breakfast to a light lunch to a night cap. (The place selling local cheeses and wines, etc. is also nice). So, this location is perfect if you want to be near the action, but not overwhelmed. The stairs are steep (it's one flight up), so anyone with any issues with that should take note. The hosts are very responsive and pleasant.

This apartment was the perfect location for our five days in Amsterdam. Centrally located, close to shops, restaurants, and transportation. Located in the Nine Streets district, you couldn’t ask for a better spot. The studio apartment is one flight up, with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable living room overlooking the street below. Steve is also an excellent communicator. He provided lots of very helpful information and was always available via WhatsApp.
We are frequent travelers and were very happy with this place. Thank you Steve!

The accommodations were great and the location is fantastic; we walked everywhere. Our host - Steven - gave us lots of helpful tips and recommendations before we arrived. He arranged for someone to meet us when we arrived, and she waited for us even though our flight was delayed. She went through everything we needed to know, and even arranged transport back to the airport for us when we left. Great experience, great accommodations, great location - would definitely stay here again.

We very much enjoyed our stay in Amsterdam and were able to walk to all the locations we were interested in seeing and touring. 9 STREETS AREA IS FULL OF BEAUTIFUL SHOPS AND GREAT RESTAURANTS. We are in our 70s and found the steps leading to the apartment a little challenging but Floris kindly helped with our lugguage. We found the apartment very comfortable and enjoyed returning to it daily after touring various sites.

We loved the location and the energy of the neighborhood. Rental had all the amenities needed to feel at home. Owner was very helpful with transportation tips and local cafes and restaurants in the neighborhood.

We had a wonderful time. Perfect for a couple. In the best possible location in Amsterdam. Easy to get in and out. Incredibly quiet in the bedroom even when the street was loud and boisterous. Would definitely stay here again!

This property is in a great location. Steep stairs might be an issue for some.

We enjoyed the nicely appointed apartment as it was accurate to the photos, centrally located especially for us who love to walk the cities, close to museums, transportation stations, and attractions, nice neighborhood. Separate living room if one wants to sit up late. Steve was a great host, meeting us upon arrival and getting us familiar with the place. Steve was very responsive during our stay, provided us with great directions by bus to the apartment from the airport and arranged at taxi for our trip back early on departure. Very much enjoyed our stay!

The location of this apartment makes it fairly easy to get anywhere in old Amsterdam. Would highly recommend it for a couple but would hesitate to have more than two people. We loved it and would definitely go back. Steve is a pleasure to deal with.

The apartment is clean, well taken care of and has an amazing location in the center of the city, making it very easy to explore in all directions. That and a host that is very experienced, welcoming and responsible makes it a pleasurable experience. Highly recommended.

This apartment is comfortable and quiet, close to public transportation, grocery stores and with a lovely restaurant/bar right across the street with a selection of international newspapers.
The host was very helpful prior to our stay.
Be aware that in Europe, the first floor means one floor up, unlike in Canada where first floor means main floor. This apartment is one floor up in a very historic building and like most (all?) apartments in the centre of Amsterdam is accessed by a steep set of narrow stairs. We are in our 70s and were very happy that we were greeted by Steve’s friend Michele, who helped us get our luggage up.
All in all, a great apartment in a great location!

Super central, spacious, with quiet bedroom!
My partner and I stayed at Steve's place for 4 nights and really enjoyed our time there. The apartment is located super centrally, has a livingroom, bedroom, small kitchen and updated bathroom. The bedroom is located towards the back of the building, so it's actually remarkably quiet for how busy it can get on the street - a huge plus when you're staying in the city but are a light sleeper! Steve himself was super accomodating, helpful with airport transport and directions, and just overall a lovely guy who cares about visitors having a good time.
We would stay here again and absolutely recommend it!

Nice Location
Location is great! Right around the corner from a nice museum. Walking distance to everything. Michele is a delight and a wonderful lady to help with any questions. Steve has a wonderful place. Would go back again when in Amsterdam. Several places to eat near by. Steve will give you a list, our favorite is on top. Starts with a Z. Can't remember how to spell it. Great place.

Great location and Steve an excellent host and communicator! Fit our needs well. Kitchen & bath good plus washer/dryer. Be careful on the stairs. We prefer a king and 4 bed pillows but for 4 nights it was fine. BTW load/set up whatsapp and have roaming data in place prior to arrival for ease of communication. Steve did email me all info which I did not bring with and VRBO did not have the full address on day of arrival confirmation.

My husband and I planned our Honeymoon trip for May 2020, which we had to postpone until October 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Steve was flexible and worked with us to make arrangements for re-scheduling, and we actually ended up staying in his own place due to long term renters in the original property. The decor was very similar, however, and my husband and I found it to be delightfully comfortable, spacious, and inviting. The location of Steve's apartment can't be beat--it's within a 10-20 minute walk of just about anything in central Amsterdam, and it's is in the Little 9 Streets shopping district. The neighborhood is very cozy and pretty quiet in the evening, as there aren't bars or other late-night establishments in this place except for one coffeeshop that was only doing take-away as of when we stayed.
All in all, we had a fantastic stay and would return in a heartbeat the next time we're in Amsterdam!

Thanks so much, Steve
This apartment proved to be an ideal home for 2 seniors as we spent 3 days and nights exploring Amsterdam.
Location-wise, in the centre of the Nine Streets, every thing you could need in the way of groceries, wine and beer, cafes, restaurants, and more was very close at hand. A few more distant attractions may have required public transit, but so many important sites were just an easy walk from the apartment. Also, we found it to be very straight-forward to take a bus from the airport. Steve emailed very specific directions explaining how to get to the apartment from Schiphol.
The apartment was extremely comfortable, and very well equipped. We used the kitchen to prep breakfast and for snacks, preferring to explore the area’s restaurants for dinner. Also, spotlessly clean, with abundant towels, etc.
It was a pleasure to communicate with and eventually meet with Steve. He took care to answer our questions right away, and was very helpful in giving advice about getting around in the city. In summary, this apartment is an excellent home base from which to explore Amsterdam.

Coronavirus Forced Our Cancellation But Steve Was Most Accommodating
The Coronavirus forced us to cancel. We were able to easily and quickly work out an arrangement with Steve that will let us use the apartment at some time in the future when the virus is a distant memory. Steve was very responsive; answered emails very promptly. *I gave it 5 stars in anticipation of our future visit.

Comfort, convenient and unique apartment
Steve’s flat in Amsterdam 9 Streets area is absolutely wonderful! So tastefully decorated with comfy furniture and personal touches - you will feel right at home. Lovely sitting room up front with plenty of seating and room to stretch out if you want to catch up on your reading or take a nap. There’s a sizable lending library and a very nice television with lots of cable channels to choose from- many in English as well. Kitchen has all you’ll need to dress up your take aways or even prepare a light meal. The bed is super comfortable and bedroom is very quiet at night as it’s set at the back of the house - a real plus. There’s loads of fascinating shops and world class museums within short walk and a variety of tram stops nearby as well. Amsterdam is so easy to navigate and it’s such a treat to be in the middle of it all. Staying at Steve’s made my first visit to Amsterdam a true delight!

Great place all around!
We really loved this apartment! From the first interaction with Steve and when we said goodbye, we felt so well taken care of. The apartment is in the perfect spot, easy to walk to literally everything! The street it’s on has shopping and cafes and restaurants nearby. Steve was wonderful with recommendations! The apartment is up only one flight stairs (which is a really good thing in Amsterdam) and the bedroom was huge and bed was super comfortable. The living room area was a nice place to relax and read or watch tv at the end of a busy day. We would totally stay there again! Steve really thinks of everything to help your stay be even better, thanks again!!!

Amsterdam in 5 days
The apartment was everything we expected and more. The location was perfect and central - each direction took you to a different must see museum, etc. Steve welcomed us, gave us lots of ideas and answered all our questions before and during our trip. Definite recommendation to anyone traveling to Amsterdam.

A gem in 9 streets
We had a really comfortable stay in this cosey characterful apartment, Steve was extremely welcoming and helpful from the outset, keeping in touch with us from booking through to arrival and then on leaving. The people in the shop below were also really friendly. We had everything we needed and the apartment is in one of the best locations in the centre of Amsterdam and is within walking distance or a tram hop away, from supermarkets, bars and cultural activities. We had an excellent New Year.

Perfect Vacation
Steve was amazing from beginning to the very end! He met us even though we landed later than expected and stored our luggage until our check in time. He immediately provided us with a transit card with money to start! Since we were there for Christmas he shared some delicious Christmas goodies. Steve went out of his way the entire stay to help us in any way possible. We highly recommend this property and the location was fantastic. We walked everywhere and found the location to be quiet and extremely comfortable for two people. Stay here, you will be very happy!

Great home base!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Grachtengordel-West! It is a perfect location for exploring all Amsterdam has to offer. We loved being close enough to everything to drop by "home" in the middle of the day to leave packages or just put our feet up before venturing back out. The apartment has everything we needed for a week's stay and is laid out so that you feel a part of the city in the front room and can escape from it in the bedroom.
Steve was the perfect host for us. We are fairly independent travelers, but he checked in just enough to make sure everything was going well. Check in/out was smooth and we appreciate Steve's being able to accommodate our travel plans both on arrival and departure.
We would stay here again!

Perfect 7 day Amsterdam home base!
Our seven days at 9 Streets Apartment was the perfect location for exploring Amsterdam. Our host, Steve, was great about communicating, was welcoming and available, with great recommendations for sightseeing, transportation and restaurants... A kind and respectful host. The bus from the airport is just a 10 minute walk to the apartment, where we were warmly welcomed, and easy to get for the return using Steve’s directions.
As for the apartment, it was spotless, with a wonderful and spacious bath that featured our favorite European amenity, a heated towel rack, stocked with shampoo, cream rinse, soap, razors, deodorant etc, so you can leave that stuff home. The bedroom has a large closet space, very comfortable bed, lots of pillows, blankets/throws and plenty of room to move around. It was very quiet due to the separation from the street front by a long hall and two doors. We live in a rural area at home, and are disturbed by noise at night. No complaints here. The use of mirrors coupled with the large window made it pleasant and a great space for organizing before a day of adventure. The living room provided a great and attractive hang out , with a library of books, maps etc to help with finding what to do. It was fun to look out onto a typical street scene with bicycles and pedestrians . Across the street is a cute cafe that serves a lovely breakfast, and yummy croissants.
We used the small but well stocked kitchen for some breakfasts and snacks, and it was great. The cupboard was stocked with essentials; tea, coffee, honey, basic spices and cooking staples. And the restaurants in Amsterdam are fabulous, so plan to sample as much as you can.
From 9 Streets we walked everywhere. And the price for this rental is very competitive with tiny rooms in hotels that ere not as close to the action. We never felt like we were in an unsafe area, even returning late in the evening.
We highly recommend this VRBO rental, and will be sure to contact Steve when we return. Thanks for everything, Steve!

Great Spot to Stay in the "9 Streets" Area
The apartment was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bed was firm which I appreciated. Host Steve is accommodating, friendly and helpful. The location is convenient for many things and about 5 minutes walk from tram stations.
As others have noted, the kitchen is small and has limited furnishings, but it was fine for us -- a coffee maker, refrigerator, and microwave made breakfast and reheated leftovers easy to accomplish. (There is also a hot plate which we did not use) We did hear street noise some evenings, but it is much quieter in the bedroom which is away from the street.
We were very happy with our stay here and would stay again if we come back to Amsterdam.

So happy with this choice!
What a great location! Close to everything we wanted to do, yet very quiet in the bedroom at the rear of the unit. The apartment is clean and spacious and the bed is very comfortable.
The bathroom is newly remodeled and has a nice shower with lots of hot water. The kitchen is tiny but with a refrigerator, electric kettle, hot plate, and microwave, we had all we needed and were able to enjoy a couple dinners we bought at a grocery store only four blocks away. Steve is a great host and met us when we checked in, showed us everything in the apartment, and provided lots of useful info about the nearby area. If we returned to Amsterdam, we would definitely stay here again and I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to family and friends.
