One of the best value vacation rentals I’ve stayed in. Convenient location <1mi from town, beautiful and quiet neighborhood, and excellent accommodations for three couples with an accommodating host as well. Would definitely recommend.

Pros:
-fabulous backyard with lots of space, amazing for stargazing
-spacious living area
-the owner told us about a new AC window unit that we could use so we were able to install it to keep 1 of the bedrooms cool for my pregnant friend
Cons:
-front door lock did not work
-coffee pot broken, had to purchase one on our own
-stains on almost every linen, we had to wash all the bed linens and towels upon arrival in order to feel comfortable using them
-unsanitary/not clean kitchen dishware
-rusty, unsanitary refrigerator/freezer with broken drawers
-stains on walls, furniture, ceiling, curtains, linens, floors
-tons of bugs inside due to the window issues (see note below)
-there's a small cottage in the backyard that we did not know about beforehand, it shares a driveway with the house and is literally in the backyard
-one of the bedroom doors (room with bunk beds) was broken so it did not fully close
-bathroom door would constantly pop open so we had to open a drawer to keep it closed
-no closet in room with bunk beds, instead, the home has command hooks with hangers to use
-a large piece of wood from the base of the house (outside) was missing, so there was a gaping hole leading to the foundation of the house
Biggest complaints:
-NO air conditioning - plenty of homes on the island don't have AC, but this was an issue for us because we couldn't use most of the windows to get fresh air/a breeze due to windows not staying open (we had to prop them open with other objects), rips in the window screens (we let in TONS of bugs by opening our windows) and windows without screens completely. we really wish we knew this in advance as our group had a pregnant women and several folks using the home during the daytime to work and it was insanely warm, it was very difficult to sleep on some of the warmer nights
-listing claims to have 3 bathrooms but make a note: this is not 3 full baths - one of the bathrooms is an outdoor shower. the location of the outdoor shower does not provide full privacy and we had to either drape a towel over the top or shower with a swimsuit on because if folks were enjoying the deck while you showered, they could see you
-listing does not accurately show the home's location. the map on VRBO shows this house as directly in town when in fact, it's a solid 20 minute walk to town. the "what's nearby" section is completely inaccurate
-overall, the home is outdated and very dirty

Our family (6 adults) stayed here for our son's wedding at the White Elephant. The property was close enough to town to walk but quiet enough to enjoy mornings on the deck. The house was wonderful and Karen was always prompt with responses to questions. I highly recommend.

Starting with the positives:
Great location-nice walk to town, street is adorable
Yards is great
Karen the host was extremely responsive
Cons:
Everything in the house needs a good clean or upgrade.
The furniture is white and has stains on it
The walls/ceiling are all marked up
One of the white bedspreads had a huge red wine stain on it when I arrived but I washed/bleached it myself and got it out
Every picture on the wall is crooked almost to the point that we questioned if it was done that way on purpose
The chandelier is propped up with a bent spoon
The kitchen and bathrooms are older than the cute cottagey state that would be acceptable
Lots of little things (outdoor chairs, porch step, bedroom mirror to name a few) are broken
My son is a bit of a germaphobe and would not eat at the house bc he was generally grossed out.
No AC or even window units
The grill is charcoal. I have not reviewed to confirm if that was listed that way but that was also a let down.
The cleaners came early before our check out time and we let them in to start. They were as nice as can be but finished the job in 45 minutes which we were surprised by.
Overall, the house has potential. I am sure a little TLC and a deep clean it would make a huge difference.

House was nice, clean. Had the impression that is was closer to town. It would have been nice to have bikes provided for the price.

We had a wonderful stay on Meadow Lane. Karen was extremely responsive throughout the rental process and we found the house exactly as advertised. A quaint, yet spacious, home at the end of a very quiet street with easy access to town and beaches by a short walk or bike ride. House was clean and in good shape. We were able to get virtually everywhere by bike, and the house was wonderful for our family of 4. Thanks for making our stay great, Karen!

A little off the beaten path, but very quiet and clean. Comfortable beds and linens, we like to stay there every year.

We had a lovely time at Karen's cottage in Nantucket! The house is nestled at the end of a quiet road surrounded by foliage. I came down with my husband and another couple --- we had plenty of space and thoroughly enjoyed spending time on the deck watching the bunnies hop around. The outdoor shower is fantastic as is the yard; we were kicking ourselves for not bringing our bocce set! I would recommend to both couples and families who would like to spend a relaxing time on Nantucket. We ended up bringing our car on island to travel around a bit, however if you could easily bike from town if needed. Hoping to do it again next year!
