Everything you need to a basic ski trip

Perfect location for the slopes - only a 50m walk. Room was cozy and warm. Kitchen was tiny but had everything we needed.

We didn't seem to recieve the warm welcome that others have reviewed about. It was towards the end of the season and we felt a bit like an inconvience to the owners.

Great lodge, awesome staff, perfect location.

Wicked location, right next to the ski field. The staff are super friendly and down for a yarn at the end of the day. Was very peaceful and quiet for a lodge. Food in the restaurant was great and good value. Highly recommend this place.

Perfect stay for skiing with amazing hosts

Amazing owners, super nice and friendly and very helpful on everything ! Lodge steps away from the slope and right next to a rental shop. Food is very good and handmade.

Awesome lodge for a group right next to the slopes.

Abby & Mark are wonderful hosts and make you feel so welcome in their lodge. Nothing is an inconvenience. With one of the best locations in town, great food and plenty of comfort, Madarao Mountain Lodge has to be the best value in town!

Great breakfast, clean comfy rooms, warm ski room, great hospitality.

The Madarao Lodge was outstanding! The legends Mark & Abby with their staff provided great food, modern room & showering facilities, and the warmest hospitality ever. Jimmy the cat was also great entertainment!

Exceptional for us

Very convenient to the ski slopes. They had a drying room, bedrooms, dining area with tea available all day. Ski passes at a discount available and recommended

The hosts provided vegetarian friendly breakfast and dropped us off at the bus stop.

Excellent hosts, good food, perfect location for snowboarding and Jimmy will steal your heart!

The owners and their daughter were all extremely welcoming and had no problems dealing with any little queries that we had. The staff were also all very kind and attentive. The food in the restaurant was else very nice for both breakfast and dinner! We went for a 3-day snowboarding trip and the lodge is next door to the slope, so walking there and back every day was super easy. And last but certainly not least is Jimmy, the lodge cat! I'll be back in the summer to take him for a walk through the forest!

*Not really a negative point* Maybe the dining room could use an extra table to squeeze everybody in, but we were more that comfortable sitting downstairs to eat in the lounge room. The young gentleman that waited on our table was very cheery too and had no problem running up and down the stairs to bring us our orders!

Very friendly hosts and overall great experience, highly recommend.

Absolutely friendly owners and were very helpful during our stay. The location was amazing as it was 3 minute walk away to the Madarao ski resort. The beds were comfy, the showers and toilets were clean and it was convenient that there were multiple toilets. The breakfast served was great and they also had a nice selection of meals for dinner. A washing machine and a dryer was available too at the property. Overall great experience staying here and Mark and Mayuko were very pleasant.

This is probably a very minor inconvenience but I wish the showers had stronger pressure, as well as maybe a rack placed higher to hold the soap and shampoo.

Comfortable, accommodating lodge at a skier’s paradise

Everything was fantastic- great food, friendly hosts, location adjacent to the slopes, and clean, comfortable bedding.

Exceptional

The hosts were great, and the house was very cozy. They have delicious homemade dinners with all kinds of drinks and good breakfast as well. The hotel is pet-friendly so we met a few cute dogs. There was a heavy snowfall on our last day but Mark helped all his guests get to the slopes. Thank you!

Must go lodge when skiing Madarao

Simple accommodation but clean, warm and cosy. Friendly and very welcome owners. Tasty breakfast. Location is perfect for skiing, just a couple meters away from slopes.

Perfect Après-ski Property

Everything. Mark and Mayuko run a mountain lodge by which all other properties should be judged. The comfort of the rooms was amazing, the hot water abundant, the restaurant food sensational, the atmosphere cozy, and the staff incredibly hospitable. The powder on Madarao was insane, to boot. I cannot recommend a stay here more highly. Book now, treasure the memories later!
