Great location terrible breakfast frosty staff

Great location & rooms are v nice

Terrible breakfast - the worst I’ve had in a very long time (in a hotel) Had a drink at the bar and asked them to put it on my bill was told quite frostily that I had to pay a £50 deposit - what the heck is that about?? Huge pile of mattresses in the lobby - is there nowhere else to store them? No rear entrance to the hotel if you are walking from the station you have to walk all the way round the block - v inconvenient

Ótima localização. Bom custo-benefício.

A localização sem dúvida é um dos pontos altos. Fica perto da estação de trem e também do centro histórico da cidade. É possível fazer tudo a pé. Além disso, a equipe do hotel é realmente muito boa, cordial e prestativa. Tivemos problemas com barulhos que vinham de um quarto ao lado. Após a equipe do hotel solicitar, sem sucesso, um comportamento mais educado da família que estava gerando os transtornos, prontamente nos realocaram em outro quarto. Equipe realmente fantástica.

O hotel é todo novo, parece ter sido reformando. Os tamanhos dos quartos são surpreendentemente grandes para padrões europeus. No entanto, o tratamento acústico das instalações não parece ser muito efetivo.

Absolutely Fab!

Perfect location, 5 minutes from station, 10 minutes to centre of York. Spotlessly clean, lovely shower and a smashing complimentary breakfast.

The only tiny niggle was the freeview on tv loses signal.

Great little hotel

The hotel is in a great location, and the staff are very friendly. Breakfast is good value.

I found a suitcase handle and a hairband under the edge of the bed that didn't belong to me. it could have been easily removed, and it shows a lack of cleaning. Yet the bathroom was spotless.

Great location, but the cleanliness needs attention.

The room was quite spacious and the hotel location was very close to the railway station which was really handy.

I thought the rate for a Sunday night was a bit steep. The telephone in the room was really dirty, but luckily for me, I walk everywhere with antibacterial wipes.

A lovely stay in the heart of York that clean and surpassed our expectations

Kay at booking in was very good Explained everything and was pleasant and attentive. We also some to other staff with questions and they went out of their way to answer our questions

Another chair but I know that the space is utilised to the last millimetre and there was know space for one. Maybe folding chairs

Disappointing, towels were not clean and TV did not work.

The location and breakfast.

Our TV was not working, we reported it and the receptionist said as it was saturday she could not call anyone as it was not classed as an emergency. She was sharp on the phone for someone working on front of house, this could have just been her communication style, but it was not friendly and she just put the phone down without apologising or saying goodbye, some training is needed for this individual. She did come up to the room to look at the issue quickly though and offered us 10% discount as she could not get the tv to work. Although today Booking.com have emailed me and the refund is only half of what she said and not 10%, which I am following up, taking my time! The main concern during our stay was that on the second day our towels were not changed. We had put the used wet towels on the floor as the instructions stated and when we returned our room had been cleaned and there was new towels available but when we went to use them they were wet and folded up as new. I raised this with the lady who came to the room to look at the faulty tv and I asked for replacement towels and asked her to report as a concern to housekeeping, she did not apologise or comment at all, just replaced the towels with new dry towels and I don't know if they were our used wet towels just folded up to be seen as fresh towels, but how do you explain the new fresh towels being wet? shocking really. Would not stay here again.

Adventures in York

We were very pleased with the quality of the accommodation, fluffy towels, very clean room and comfortable beds. Air conditioning was good, plenty of tea and coffee available. Quiet.

The reception of the TV was very poor. No local ales or lagers available either on pump or bottle at the bar. Very limited choice for an evening meal. Unable to open the window for fresh air.

Location perfect for arrival by train. Breakfast offered is excellent.

Room was booked for three adults, but facilities only prepared for two adults. Pull out bed not made up, two cups, two glasses etc. Mistake soon rectified by staff however.

Nice stayed before knew the location and what to expect

Umfortunately we were both poorly with chest infections picked up the previous day so never had breakfast ,we didnt want to be off putting other guests eating
