Awful check in process, run down flat, only saving grace was a comfortable bed!

The bed was comfortable

Run down, apartment was in an overall bad condition. Check in was awful, no assistance, wasn’t given unit number or access codes - had to ring up on arrival and complain.

Posizione ottima. Ampiezza, arredamento, dotazioni e confort dell appartamento: molto buoni. Molto gradite la Presenza della terrazza e della palestra attrezzata.

Il supporto richiesto al check in completamente inefficace. Inoltre la piscina è impraticabile: piccolissima, sporca e malandata.

Praktischer Aufenthalt in der Mitte von New Orleans

Das Haus besteht aus Wohnungen. Die Lobby ist immer besetzt, unsere Koffer konnten wir am Abreisetag deponieren. Es war sehr ruhig, ich hatte meine bedenken, weil unsere Wohnungstüre nicht gut isoliert war, aber das war kein Problem. Unsere 1-Zimmer Wohnung war gross genug, mit walk-in-Closet und Waschmaschine/Tumbler, für 2 Personen. Meine Tochter ist last minute auch noch mitgekommen und es war kein Problem. Die Essecke mit Geschirrwaschmaschine, Kaffeemaschine, Mikrowellenofen, Kühlschrank, und Kochherd hat alles gehabt, was man hätte gebraucht um zu kochen, wir haben das nicht gemacht. Es gab genug Geschirr und Gläser. Das Bett war sehr komfortabel. Es war alles sehr sauber. Die Lage in der nähe des Latin Quarter günstig, es gab auch einen kleinen Supermarket in der Nähe mit den wichtigsten Esswaren. Die Haltestelle der Streetcar ist in der Nähe, sowie eine Busstelle, so kommt man überall in NO hin.

Man kann die Fenster nicht öffnen... Die Lage ist eher ungünstig, wenn man jeden Morgen zum Convention Center gehen muss, ca 25 min zu Fuss oder mit dem Bus. Der Eingangsbereich und die Lifte haben nicht gut gerochen, speziell nachdem es geregnet hat. Einen Abend ging der Alarm los und wir mussten die Treppen runter zu Fuss, das hat alles gut funktioniert, aber die Treppen waren wirklich schmutzig!

I would stay again

Close to everything, nice space to spend a long time. Coffee machine and shower is really good

Not enough kitchen trash bags and kitchen towels for the length of stay. The chairs is really short and is difficult to eat.

Clean apartment within walking distance to attractions

The location was excellent. A few minutes walk to many popular locations. The apartment was very spacious, well equipped and very clean.

Great appartment in the French Quarter...

I ended up loving this appartment. I initially was thinking its a 3.5 to 4 star review but by the end i was loving the appartment and both me and my son said we would definitely stay at the appartmemt again, hence it deserved a 5 star... This apartment is a great location. Was able to walk to most attractions or get the streetcars which I would highly recommend! The appartment was a stone throw from the main sights in the French Quarter like Bourbon Street. It was also a big appartment with both double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms (so was very pleased I didnt need to share a bathroom with son!! That was a pleasant bonus as wasnt expecting that!) and there was an additional separate bathroom. There is a sofa bed too if you have guests. The appartment was clean with crisp white sheets and towels and hardwood flooring! Good size kitchen and living area. Was really nice after a full day out sightseeing to come back to a homely environment rather than a tiny hotel room! The other great thing about the appartment, was the service. Super helpful and very responsive to all my needs.

The appartment was a little tired looking but clean. . There is no housekeeping per se. You need to email through your needs, but if you do this before 4pm you can get help the same day, after 4pm it's the next day but I found them super responsive but not quite the hands on hotel experience. It's in-between an air B+B and a hotel, so best of both worlds really!

Excellent place to stay! Will deci stay here again.

The front desk staff was friendly and very helpful. Our unit was large and clean. The hotel was nearby all attractions/ restaurants/ bars, perfect for walking everywhere.

They didn't have transportation service and we had to call our own taxi.

NOLA: been there done that!

I liked my apartment it was spacious and bright. The added bonus of having a washer/dryer in the room was great.

Sonder at Duncan is great once you are in the building however I had concerns about the surrounding area. There were several drunks and addicts hanging outside the building. I tended to avoid walking around in the evening and very early in the morning due to these folks. Security outside the building was definitely a concern for me. The building particularly the common areas (lifts, reception etc) could definitely been kept cleaner. I went around Mardi Gras and New Orleans gets crazy around that time, it was evident!

Bad bad Sonder

The location and the rooftop terrace. The room was awful - see below. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but unfortunately they weren't able to solve our problems. This was not their fault. The building needs a major refurbishment.

This is an old, run-down property. The room was furnished with old, broken-down furniture (although the bed was ok). Our window opened directly on to a rooftop covered with HVAC and ventilation outlets, including for the seafood restaurant next door. Bad smells. Also the noise of roaring fans 12 hours per day. Do NOT stay on the 5th floor if you don't like the sound of this! The tv is not a smart tv and we could not get a Chromecast to work. So the tv is useless unless you're happy to watch reruns from the 90s. The washing machine never worked.

Very well spent!

This was literally an apartment mixed with a hotel! Security was so kind to us. The place was clean and worth the price. There a pool upstairs and a place where you can hang out with your friends. The local people are very kind and recommend this place as the Mardi Gras parade was one block over. I’m definitely telling my friends about Sonder!

I believe it’s loud at night as the homeless people tend to yell around 3am. But it was normal for us as we can sleep through loud noises

Above average stay near city center

We liked the location for the most part, which was central, and allowed us to get to the center quickly by foot. We loved how spacious the room was and that it included a half-kitchen, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. The room was clean. It was nice to have a roof top to look at the cityscape. It was easy to get into the main door and the door of our room with the keycode.

It was noisy, but this was to be expected. The elevator and lobby smelled moldy, which was a little bit concerning. We were also told there would be complimentary coffee at the roof every morning, but there was none, despite there being a sign at the roof that advertised as such. Some of the pictures of the roof are a little misleading; the pool is very small. I also wish this property would provide free or low-fee breakfast, even bagels/toasts.

Perfect stay

We stayed in room 1500 which was on the 15th floor, it was large, well equipped and a beautiful room. Both bedrooms had en suite bathrooms with bath and shower and walk in closet. The pool and gym were really nice and everything was well kept and clean. The room had coffee machine with coffee supplied. The washer dryer was a great addition. It could be a little noisy at night due to the location and carnival but it was a great place to stay. Would highly recommend.

our ceiling had a leak in it and never heard back from management about it getting fixed. really gross to know that the room above us shower water was leaking into our shower… felt very unhygienic

Buena situación

La ubicación lo mejor. La cama es muy cómoda pero es una cama de 1,35, no es cama extra grande. Dos baños y la cocina muy completa. Te dejan café e infusiones. El apartamento está muy limpio y decorado con buen gusto. Es muy amplio

Los cristales están muy sucios y las ventanas no se abren. Las vistas hacia un parking que emitía mucha luz. Las cortinas no cubrían bien y entraba mucha luz. El cierre de la puerta hay que explicarlo mejor. Cuando sales de tu apartamento tienes que esperar unos minutos para que la puerta se cierre. En mi caso llegué tarde el primer día y salí temprano de excursión. Me fui pensando que el apartamento quedaba abierto y en el momento no hay nadie que te de solución, me respondieron demasiado tarde

Location was pretty good within walking distance of everything even walked to the mall

Couldn't get the shower to work , but that wasn't a deal breaker, I was still able to bath. The apartment was very comfortable, it was a little chilly weather wise the heat in the apartment was good.

Worked for what we needed, but wouldn’t stay again.

The location is close walking distance to the French Quarter and the Superdome. The kitchen was nice size and well stocked. The bed was comfortable. The view from the top deck is nice.

There is a strong chemical “air freshener” smell as you enter the building that pervades throughout the complex (luckily not in the room). The elevators were loud and broke down. There was some shoddy maintenance work, e.g. towel bar that needed to be replaced and the holes from the prior one were left with large patches of white spackle. We requested an extra blanket on more than one occasion and never got one.

It had a gym. The apartment was large. Conveniently located. The security staff at the door made me feel safe as a solo traveller.

You can’t store your bags at the venue after checkout, but Bounce bag storage is just around the corner and has fair rates for storage.

A really pleasant surprise

I loved my stay at Sonder. I try to find one everywhere I travel.

Great location in walking distance to a variety of restaurants and venues.

No breakfast. Took a while to figure out tv and heat. Wash/dryer were great but why no detergent pods?

Not a bad price, but not clean enough to return.

Having a place to our selves was great.

The shower was terrible, all of the cabinets showed signs of water damage. The building smelled like human waste, and was disgusting.

Location was central, apartment was well furnished

Not hot water for the full week, no help from the building, no refund until I asked. Terrible customer service. Laundry didn’t work.
