We have spent 2 weeks there and this time was beautiful! Both beaches are wonderful and have completely different scenery and the most important ocean. The first one is more open for the wind, so you can enjoy rolling waves when the second one is covered by the hill, so the water there is almost always very peaceful. The hotel territory is quite big and even allows you to meet black and red monkeys daily, so the visit to Jozani was less special for us…:) and it’s very important to mention incredible food! The hotel chef is amazing and very creative. Every day we got something new and it was always delicious! The grilled meals were especially tasty and always made us ask for more ;) also after seeing the gorgeous villas on the first lane we asked receptionist if we can upgrade our room: the price was very reasonable and the process is very quick !) the same with the late checkout-amazing support from hotel’representatives👍
The stuff in the hotel is the sweetest and very respectful of your space, however there were quite annoying guys on the beach offering tours-services, who would follow you when you go to the sea trying to sell their services. I assume it’s a regular situation on every beach there, unfortunately, but it was the only moment I don’t miss.

That is the best hotel experience in Zanzibar. We are all enjoyed. All of staff are very kindly and the room are very clean. Good viewing in any where. The vegetable and fruit are from own farm.

It was awesome stay. The hotel staff is brilliant. and the view is mind blowing. We enjoyed 2 days trip very well…
Nothing at all… I liked everything about the property.

When booking the pictures gave us really high expectations and the hotel exceeded them expectations. The view from our room was amazing- the resort itself was gorgeous and had the most amazing view from the massage area of the sunset! Staff went above and beyond to help and were so friendly with my 1 year old it was like visiting family rather than guests in a hotel.
The cocktails were standard (the ones we had anyway) strong but not much flavour to them.

The overall was good and the location was awesome. The view was incredible. This is a very good location for people who wants to be away from crowds and just want a peaceful and relaxing stay.
The restaurant quality was very good, however not many choices in the menu for lunch. The dinner is normally a buffet and there is nothing else, so you are 'forced' to eat the buffet as no other options are available and 20 dollars per person is very expensive. There are no other restaurants or markets around, so you'll most probably always stay in the hotel and forced to eat there since no other options available. The staffs are very nice but some of them will be after you to buy things with them like massages and spas (which are also very expensive), and they don't get it when you say NO for a first time. It can be very annoying.

Great location with amazing views and very friendly staff. The room was so comfortable and clean. tasty food. Playing football on the beach. Stayed at 3 hotels around Zanzibar and this was by far the best. Couldn't believe how cheap it was for such a stunning place.
Nothing bad to say

Stunning views from the hotel.
The staff were all amazingly friendly and helpful. The hotel made sure that Xmas Eve and Xmas day were special.
The large infinity swimming pool was a bonus as swimming in the sea is very dependent on the tides and the coral reef
Rooms need some modernisation/renovation.
They did not give us Ocean view room as they said Booking.com and their booking system had miscommunicated & overbooked. However they did upgrade us to all inclusive as compensation but not very satisfactory as we had booked 4 months in advance.

The surroundings are incredible and the staff made our stay feel so special. Nothing was too much trouble and they went above and beyond each day. The hotel itself is clean, original and perfectly located on a beautiful sandy beach. We went to a few other hotels in the local area and have to say that this stands out.
There is no Wi-Fi in the rooms, but, this was not an issue as Wi-Fi is available at the bar and restaurant areas.

very spacious rooms with beautiful seaview. Increadible beds, so comfortable. Good dinner with African entertaiment program. Good location with only short walking distance to famous Rock restaurant.

It was a lovely resort. 2 pools, amazing expansive views, accommodating staff, food was good. Was tranquil and a really nice experience. The rooms were clean and air conditioned and most importantly we didn't have any insects in our rooms at all! They also have activities on at nights and there was a white party on our first night which had lots of singing and dancing on the beach- a lot of fun.
I was pleased with it all. There is a long bumpy road leading to the resort but do not be deterred by that. When you get there it is well worth the wait.

The traditional style building and the quiet surroundings
Poor service. Received only on bath towel each day. My friend received a hand towel the 1st day but then it was never provided after that. No chair or seat to sit down and dry hair or put on makeup.

it’s a great property in the heart of Michamvi.
the fact that they do not have wifi in some of the rooms which is okay but then when you cannot access internet data in the very same rooms with local SIM cards?
that’s very unsafe. what if there is an emergency.
this is one of the reasons we won’t be going back to this property.
another thing, the property should mention they charge a tourist tax of 1 dollar per day outside the normal room rate.
finally, its okay to charge the usual 5% tax on debit or credit cards but when the property insists on using a very high different currency exchange rate as opposed to paying in cash knowing very well you cannot walk around with alarge sum of liquid cash around is highly unprofessional.
the current exchange rate when i stayed there was 2306 to a dollar but they wanted us to pay with 2350 using card. we did not accept.
The above should be mentioned after booking so that people can be prepared mentally

Room lacked adequate AC and Wi-Fi connection.

The view from the restaurant was beautiful.
The food. The lack of urgency with maintenance had to use another guests shower because I was not given a room with a working shower. Informed them that it will be my birthday while I was staying there and no effort was done on their part just an after thought of a card.

The gym was funky but fun and the staff was all-around outstanding. My wife and I became friends with most of them, truly unique and overall great folks to interact with. Zakaya (I hope I’m writing this correct) from the Masai folks guarding the hotel at night was a joyful guy who was fun to talk to.
Pool has a great view and the Beach is great as soon as the tide comes right back up. Sheesha/Hookah lounge upstairs was an extra plus :)
WiFi could be extended to rooms, if possible, not just lobby area.

really nice hotel with good and friendly stuff, beautiful bungalows, garden, pool and restaurant. The food is really tasty and we like that there was buffee - you can choose what you take. In the dinner was some days shows like dancers etc 💃🏼
The wifi is only at the restaurant

The pool was amazing and unlike other spots around the island, actually cooled you down. The included dinner and breakfast were both great!

I believe the heart of this place are the people running this hotel. They were some minor hickups but always solved quickly and kindly. We never experienced such a special compensation from the hotel management, thank you for the perfect dinner & suprise. Actually we have enjoyed all meals as well.
Wifi worked only at restaurant area - however finally we realized this is not such a big problem at all. More time to enjoy the view 😉

Staff were very friendly. Beautiful property. Lovely beach with a bar. Worth a few days visit.
The food was a bit bland and boring but edible. The bottles of wine where filled from box wines which is not an issue but then they should not give the impression it is from a bottle.
