I didn't stay there even though I had already paid
The employee who welcomed me was dirty; dirty clothes dirty fingernails. He said things that I didn't like ;and I became doubtful about my safety and decided to leave

Easy to find, Great Price and in a beautiful farm setting.
There was no electricity and we decided not to stay there. It was very cold and heater/aircon was needed. We had to find alternate accommodation.

The fact that there is no electricity and thus no internet, no hot water. That's SA.......

Enjoyed the two nights which we booked, and then we extended our stay. Beautiful Namaqualand landscape, quiver trees and rocky mountains. Enjoyed braaiing peacefully under clear starry skies.
No double-bed in the 3-bedroomed villa.

Enjoyed the rural landscape and farmhouse. The hosts were excellent.. friendly, helpful and communicated well about any needs that guests may have. The farmhouse was clean, comfortable and well-equipped as advertised. Very safe location not far from the town.
There was no double-bed in the 3-bedroomed villa... only single beds.

Lens is a warm host. Not he just welcome us as a guests but he shared with us lots of family adventure and explained the life in Springbok. There is a nice trail to do in his Farm of 2 km. The room is clean and it has all you need. He has a brillant idea to put an electrical blankets and it was lovely to sleep with it.

The location, the feeling of utter freedom, the access to hiking trails and off-trail walks/scrambles which included permission to access a neighboring guest farm. Although a bit tired looking, the facilities, including internet, was perfectly functional. The host went out of his way to ensure that I at all times had access to hot showers and at least some electrical power (by starting up a remote generator) during the SA Power Utility (Eskom) loadshedding periods (which are country-wide). I flourished on this guest farm. I had access to two bedrooms in 'my' chalet, which prompted me to invite a friend to join me for part of my stay. A perfect stay to be sure! And only 8 km (tarred road) & 4 km (gravel road) from the major town of Springbok where all necessary food etc. purchases can be made.
I liked everything. But many persons/types that I know would not have the same very positive opinion as I do about the guest farm. But that is their problem. Nothing was promised that was not delivered, so given the very cheap price of staying on the farm, one should have realistic expectations!

Len is an exceptional host with a good local knowledge and advise. The setting is stunning if you want to enjoy the local natural environment.

The fact that the owner accommodate his guests during winter times with a heater and an electric blanket was very considerate for me, I think that was the cherry on the cake.
A shield for the cars is important especially if it is during the other warm months, Namaqualand can get warm and to avoid the vehicle to be parked direct under the sun.

Next time we will make time for breakfast
