Een perfecte plaats om te logeren als je naar Akagera NP reist.

Bijzonder mooi en verzorgd verblijf, luxueus naar onze reisnormen. Prijzig maar goed. Aantrekkelijk restaurant en vriendelijk personeel.

Bad location and cold shower

Because I stayed overnight outside the national park I had to pay 200 dollars instead of 150 dollars park fees for two days. Moreover, I would expect a hot shower for a accommodation at almost 200 dollars per night. It remained cold!

Very charming place, kind and professional staff

We had a great stay at Akagera Transit Lodge. My wife and I were with our two little kids (3 and 4). Directly at our arrival, we were welcomed by a very kind and professional staff which helped us with our luggage and the installation. The room was very clean and spacious and the outdoor was charming. The Lodge also propose Safari tours of the Akagera with a guide. For the tour, the Lodge provided delicous lunch boxes with sandwiches, drinks and fruits. We had a very pleasent Safari experience thanks to our very skilled guide and we had the chance to see most of the animals we were looking for.

Location is great, very close to the park. Staff are great. Modern yet rustic design.

A bit expensive for what is offered. Some things listed (balcony, fireplace) are a misleading.

Beautiful grounds and rooms. Very clean. Attentive and kind staff. Good food with decent prices.

Toiletries are the bare minimum- bring your own shampoo!

Exceptional

Honestly, this is the best guest house in Rwanda. The visit there was even more exciting that national park itself, really...! I wish i had more time to spend there not on transit to the park but for relaxation. The place is good also for distant working as the room has a working desk. Outside: Good terrace with green environment, see the pictures how they are decorated with flowers and greenery. Small well maintained garden. The rooms: Rooms are with nice interior, good design. Bathroom with hot water. Cleen. I had no problems with mosquitoes or other insects at all. Mattress are hard, which i like. My room was backside, so no noise at all. Staff: Friendly and helpful staff. Perfect communication before my visit, they help me to plan and organise any details of my visit to the park. The staff really care about their clients and are fully helpful and reliable.

Thank you for your great hospitality. This is not just a place for transit but good destination to spend time there.

Comfortable stay near Akagera Park.

Excellent location very near the South Gate of the park. Good basic room and very good restaurant. Early breakfast. Very friendly staff.

Great location, great lodge, great staff!

The location of the lodge just 5min drive from the main parc entrance makes it a great starting point . The nice and cosy rooms, the excellent restaurant and most important the very friendly and helpful staff make it even better.

Incredible stay! We will be back.

Everything was incredible! The staff were so accommodating, making sure we had dinner ready and served when we arrived late (11pm!!) and accommodated to our every need. The rooms are beautifully done and it feels like a proper tranquil piece of paradise! Wish we could have stayed longer!

I would happily stay here on my next trip to Akagera.

The rooms are charming and clean. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food delicious. I loved this place located just outside the park entrance.

Like most hotels I’ve experienced in Rwanda, the mattresses and very stiff. Not the most comfortable but I still slept well.

Nice stay, great personell, weak wifi

Great atmosphere, employees who help you wherever they can (they talk English and French well), a nice view, great breakfast, a nice shower and big bed and nearby the Akagare National Park.

the walls are thin so if you have neighbours, it is noisey. The wifi is weak; it does not work in the room, only at the bar.

Fantastic location, service and experience!

Location was very easy to find. The greeting at the reception was great and the service overall was exceptional! They even got an extra bed in the room for my daughter, ironed the sheets and all. They offered a very early breakfast especially for us according to our trip needs and prepared lunch boxes for all of us, which included - water, fruit and very rich sandwiches. The night we stayed there, they even made fire for us outside and maintained it the whole time we were outside.

Comfortable lodge very close to Akagera National Park!

The rooms were very nice - excellent bathrooms (probably the best shower I had in Rwanda). Staff was friendly and helpful; some spoke more English than others. Food was great! They were very accommodating to special food requests as long as we could make ourselves understood.

Slight differences between what I thought I booked and what we got - wasn't a big deal but we had a king bed instead of 2 doubles in a couple rooms.

Great accomodation for a visit to Akagera

Such a great place to stay! The staff was very attentive and even offered the amazing extra service of washing our car after the last day in the park. The rooms are nice and large, with a king size bed and great shower. Also the breakfast was lovely, as are the packed lunch options they offer. Would definitely recommend Akagera Transit Lodge.

Do note that the accomodation is not inside the park, but still very close (5 minute drive) to the southern gate.
