Cabin house on a quiet cove - Lake of the Ozarks near Warsaw
About this house rental
This VRBO at Lake of The Ozarks is a relaxing getaway vacation. Located in the Golden Shores subdivisions, this house sits on one acre on The Lake of the Ozarks. It features a picturesque campfire setting, scenic views from the deck, and a boat well-kept boat dock. This lake has a mystery that attracts families, anglers, and adventure seekers. This home comfortably sleeps 10 to 12 in ten individual beds, a pull-out couch, and one portable crib. It is nestled on a half-acre just minutes from Warsaw at mile marker 84.5 of Lake of the Ozarks; this laid-back three-bedroom, 2.5-bath cabin is situated on a quiet “no wake” cove. It is on the water with a Dock and boat slip, and four kayaks are free to use with the rental. This home is often used for family vacations on the quieter part of Lake of The Ozarks. It is excellent for family retreats, fall leaf peepers, hunting parties, and fall fishing. It is serenely quiet and relaxing in the winter, with few people around. You can almost hear the snow hitting the ground as it falls. The star of our house is the outdoors! The backyard fire pit with natural log seating is perfect for campfires, smores, and laughter. We will also provide split firewood for campfires. The upstairs deck features a ceiling fan for summer comfort, an outdoor dining set for six, and a comfy teakwood couch for outdoor naps. The north-facing deck is just a stone’s throw from the lake. The full walk-out porch beneath the deck features a porch swing, hammock, wicker loveseat, and chiminea. With plenty of beds for a family, a small reunion, or a weekend getaway with the guys/gals, this cabin appeals to families, anglers, boaters, kids, and older adults alike! The main bedroom and bathroom feature a queen Sleep Number bed, rocking chair, changing table (for baby), Pack n Play crib, and washer and dryer in the adjacent main bathroom. The beautiful dining room table seats up to 10, adding a highchair. There is a deck overlooking the back of the property, an outdoor table set for six, and a comfy couch for outdoor naps. The kitchen has all newer appliances, and many cooking utensils and pantry staples are included for your stay. The entire home is electric (no gas). Downstairs, the walkout basement consists of two bedrooms, a full bathroom, three bunk beds, and an 85-inch TV w/ DVD/BluRay. Starlink Internet is well distributed with WIFI throughout (usually between 140 & 250 Mbps). Board Games, Cards, Poker chips, and more are in the game closet on the lower level. The dock is on a 2–4-foot depth with a deeper channel extending beyond. With a mud bottom mixed with some features that anglers enjoy, it’s the perfect place to swim or throw out a fishing line (we are happy to give some fishing tips for the area and can recommend local guides). The serenity of your stay will be unmatched compared to the hustle and bustle often described with Lake of the Ozarks! Remember that water depth is dictated by the combination of Mother Nature and the Army Corps of Engineers, as Truman Dam is a hydroelectric dam. Do you like to cook outside? There is an Oklahoma Joe's Longhorn Combo Charcoal/Gas Smoker & Grill with offset firebox for hardwood smoking. Includes a Gas Grill, A Charcoal Grill, And a Smoke Box in one. This is in addition to the existing OG Weber Kettle. The kitchen typically houses basic seasonings and condiments. Hosts generally try to keep basic oils/Pam available but cannot account for everyone's needs, so please plan if you have unique cooking goals. Calphalon stainless-steel pots and pans with glass lids, a Calphalon non-stick pan for eggs, etc.) decent chef's knives, cutting boards, several cast iron pans, a crepe pan, colander, blender, ice-cream machine, popcorn machine, essential bakeware, silverware, and plate-ware for 12 people. Anglers: We have had success fishing the property for Largemouth Bass, White Bass, Catfish, and Crappie. We occasionally hook Walleye and Drum. Blue cats, channel cats, largemouth, and white bass chase the shad into the shallows from dusk to sundown. Hosts are happy to share a Google map (just before check-in) that includes several of their favorite fishing spots) Missouri Paddlefish season: If you join us from March 15 to April 30th, the odds are high that you will be traveling to Lake of the Ozarks for the world-renowned paddlefish experience. This home is a brilliant place to stay and play on your paddlefish journey. It is quiet, serene, and a perfect place to reflect and unwind. You will want to know a couple of tips. The water in this cove recedes slowly from early December to mid-January. By the end of January, the cove is primarily dry. The dock will be sitting on the bottom. Docking a boat will be possible in mid to late May. Spoonbill (paddlefish) season runs from May 15th to April 30th. Paddlefish move from the depths near Bagnall Dam up the lake towards spawning grounds near Truman Dam. As the spoonbill moves up the channel, guides track their progression toward spawning grounds. If you are coming for Spoonbill season, we highly suggest hiring a local guide if this is your first time. Please visit the MDC website and be familiar with the regulations. Motor Powered Boats: Our dock slip is not small and will accommodate most pontoons, bass boats, and small to medium ski boats. Guests may use the dock for their watercraft during their stay, but be mindful of depth compared to your boat’s draught before docking. LOTO water levels rise and fall throughout the day; large crafts may have issues as there is no boat lift in the dock well. The closest public boat ramp is Drake Harbor in Warsaw. Hosts are happy to assist with directions or suggestions from Drake to our property if needed. Hosts will make available a small outdoor toddler-sized playset, a youth kayak and paddle, three adult-sized fishing “sit-on-top” fishing kayaks and paddles, and some general sizes of life jackets. Life Jackets must be worn while using Kayaks as there is a current in the deep-water lake channel. Based on your occupancy numbers, we will provide rolls of septic-safe toilet paper and allergen-free septic-safe laundry detergent. Each bathroom will also have essential soaps, shampoo, towels/linens, etc. We also try to cover a few basics in case guests need to remember, but we cannot account for everyone's specific wants and needs. House Rules: No smoking indoors (we have set up spaces outdoors with your comfort in mind). No fireworks or discharging of weapons on the property. No Hunting on this property. We recommend water shoes when swimming as you never know what’s on the bottom. Two dogs under 50 lbs each are welcome (there is a pet fee as extra cleaning is usually required), but please keep them on leashes or tethers when enjoying the outdoors. (This is an HOA requirement). We have a $25 per night/per person additional cleaning fee for adults exceeding ten adults. This will help cover extra cleaning expenses and will be added at check-out. Please, no more than five vehicles, one boat trailer on the property, and no more than 12 people staying overnight. We do not have parking for large parties. Just to let you know, security cameras are on the property's exterior public entrances and one watches the boat well on the dock to help secure the boater’s items. We have never had security issues, but peace of mind is priceless. Disclaimer: This is not an event space; thus, parties of guests exceeding what you have booked are strictly prohibited without written consent. We have hosted wedding events and parties at this home to great success. If there is a special event you are planning in which more guests would be on property for a specified length of time, please let us know and get approval of the event. We do not charge extra for this, but we wish to know what to expect. We reserve the right to cancel your stay if these terms are violated. We have a 5-car maximum which includes areas for trailers. So, five vehicles total. Please don't block the neighbor's access or roadways. You will be responsible for any excessive damage to the property(s) caused by you or your party during your stay.

Our family met at this cabin for Thanksgiving and had a great time. It was too chilly for lake activities except my son and his girlfriend were brave enough to kayak around the area. It was perfect weather for an evening fire and we appreciated the firewood that was available for that purpose. Our lab Luke also joined us and he had a whole new world of smells and sounds to explore out there. The cabin itself had plenty of room for us to be together or spread out as we wanted. It was stocked with all the necessities you might forget to pack for a few days away from home. The kitchen had all the things we needed to cook our planned meals. And clean up around the cabin was easy and straightforward. Thank you Aaron and Jennifer for sharing your beautiful property with us.

Wow! This place was absolutely perfect for our family vacation. The hosts were beyond amazing- communicating quick before and during the stay. The location on the cove was great for just floating and swimming, and our only complaint was that we only stayed for a week. Highly recommend!!

Everything was as expected. Hosts were amazing to work with. We are now looking for kayaks of our own, we loves theirs so much. Close to a town for shopping and groceries, but in a quiet part of the lake…which is exactly what we wanted

From the very beginning, the communication was outstanding. I was able to send messages and get responses very quickly. This allowed me to be better prepared for our stay. The home is so lovely, and has the perfect location. The cove couldn't have been any better for swimming as it calm and wasn't too deep. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out and enjoy their stay. We enjoyed the firepit at night and kayaks during the day. We got to roast marshmallows and listen to mother nature with no concern of running out of firewood that was provided. Overall, a wonderful experience for myself and the family. Thank you for sharing your wonderful vacation home.

What a nice visit our family had on this property. The owners were quick to respond the couple of times we had questions. The property was exactly as they described. It was a quiet, peaceful cove with great views from the deck. My family was able to not only spend quiet time, but also get out on the kayaks, fish and swim. Just a great time to make memories. Thanks Aaron and Jennifer!

I stayed here with my husband, three children, and dog for our first VRBO experience. While my husband had wanted a wide-open view of the water, we found that this secluded, shallow area really suited our family well. We sat on the deck and watched our kids swim below with little worry, thanks to the clear view and shallow water. My kids (12, 8, and 5) loved the multitude of beds and that they had their pick of rooms.
I did struggle to get comfortable in the master bed, which surprised me because it's a Sleep Number, but I just found a different one downstairs and woke up rested every day. I was the only one with problems sleeping, though, and I have chronic back issues so take my opinion on this with a grain of salt.
It's a no-wake area, so it's pretty calm, but you can see/hear the bigger boats on the other side of a thin island across from the house.
There's no shortage of thoughtful concessions for families, down to water shoes of varying sizes and even extra diapers and wipes.
There's only one TV, which we thought might cause some drama, but to our surprise, it was enough to entertain the kids when they weren't swimming or fishing, and with the TV being downstairs, the grownups could have quiet upstairs. The kayaks and floats were a lot of fun, and there's a game closet, a hammock, and even a telescope (which we admired but didn't attempt to figure out).
We weren't really looking, but we saw deer, foxes, heron, turtles, lizards, and we believe some armadillos?! (They were in the form of roadkill, but they sure looked like armadillos. That, or they have some really impressive roly-poly bugs...)
It's a bit of a drive to the nearest stores... expect a 15-20 minute drive to get groceries. For the heck of it, I tried to DoorDash some groceries from the General Store, as it's listed as available in the DoorDash app, but after waiting an hour to be assigned a courier, I gave up. One evening, we went to El Camino Real, which seems to be a chain we'd never heard of (we live a couple of hours from the property) but we lovvvved it. We also made the 2-hour drive to Silver Dollar City, and it didn't disappoint.
Over all, it was a relaxing, rejuvenating time. The hosts were really lovely to work with and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable (but didn't communicate more than necessary.) You're not going to have big-city types of attractions without a major drive, but if you're looking for quiet and seclusion, this is the one.

July 4th Family & Friends Getaway
Aaron and Jennifer were wonderful hosts answering all of our questions in a timely manor. Their home, property and little piece of lake provided a very relaxing place to escape our busy lives. The home fit our party of 12 (6 adults, 4 teens and 2 children) perfectly with beds, bedding and towels for all, plus extras.
The kitchen had all the basics plus some. We could have used a large mixing bowl and liquid measuring cup but made due with alternatives we found. The freezer is also on the smaller side.
Inside we enjoyed the closet full of indoor games, puzzles, books and the large TV on the lower level. The outdoor space offered room to play in the grass, a dock to jump off (shallow and muddy, but still enjoyed by all) a quiet cove to kayak and fish in and a fun firepit to sit around.
Fireworks at neighboring homes were plentiful and lasted all weekened.

The owners went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We ended up with a party of 7 and everyone was very comfortable. Owners provided a lot of little necessities that we didn't think to bring. We got married on the dock and it couldn't be more beautiful. The views from upper deck are amazing. Saw lots of wildlife, even a bald eagle flying on our last day. Lots of memories made for our family! Hope to return soon!

Excellent place to stay with great hosts
A great place with great hosts! The property was absolutely beautiful with lots to do. House was clean, fully stocked with things like towels and washcloths. We didn’t have to bring much for the kids which isn’t normal so that was nice! The hosts were incredibly informative, kind and accommodating. We will be coming back!

The owners were excellent with communication, and very friendly. The house was just as it was listed, but there were a few extra fees added on that they didn’t have listed in their original ad, like for extra people and extra cleaning days. It’s listed to hold 12 people but they charged extra for anyone over 8 people.
They really did think of everything a group would need while staying there. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, Tupperware, trash bags, games, hammock, extra blankets, water shoes, hats, robes, pack n play, etc.
The backyard is really where you spend your time. Plenty of wood for the fire pit, kayaks, floats and a very solid/stable dock.
We were there for Memorial Day and it had rained for a few days before we showed up. The water around the dock was about 4ft deep.
We would absolutely stay here again!
