I was at the hotel for a three day conference. The first day the room we were in for 6 hours was no warmer than 64 degrees. There were other empty rooms that were warmer and although they were empty, they did not move us. At the end of a the day I checked into my room, which was lovely, however the thermostat was set to 70 yet was only 63 degrees. After 20 minutes of it not getting warmer, I called to be told the engineer was not onsite but would come later. I asked to have my room changed. I got to the new room, which was not nearly as nice as the original room. However, the heat worked. I laid down to take a nap for an hour, and half an hour later, someone actually walked into the room. I screamed and jumped, I scared them as bad as they scared me. The front desk had not updated that the room was booked. On the day of check out, the alarms were going off, saying the building needed to be evacuated. However, we did not have to evacuate, the whole day was just not what I would expect at Marriott , it was especially disappointing because this is the former Hotel Syracuse, which has some historical, sentimental meaning in itself.

Picked this as the hotel based soley off of it's close proximity to the Oncenter for the Syracuse Half Marathon. One of the nicest places I've ever stayed at a very close price to not nearly as nice of hotels.

The hotel was beautiful with great restaurants located inside & cute shops nearby.

Beautiful hotel downtown Syracuse

Neat historic location. Clean rooms, lovely dining restaurant, downtown location. Self parking for an additional cost per day, and street parking is available but metered. Valet option. Basic amenities available.

This is a ghost hotel - probably appeal to those who love abandoned buildings. The decor and fixtures haven’t been updated since the 1960’s which was probably nice back in the day. Carpet smelled. Had very weird doors like from a submarine or something. The guy who checked us in (Kevin) appeared to be quite high and couldn’t barely open his eyes. Virtually no guests. Only place to eat nearby was an Irish pub which is itself nice. Quite a creepy hotel - but suitable for those into that sort of thing.

We had an issue with our debit card, we had cash but they wouldnt accept cash, after surpriding ys with an extra added $75 charge thst we weren't informed about. The hotel would not accommodate us, nor refund us the money paid for our room. We paid for a hotel room for nothing, and had to drive over an hour back home.

Hotel is beautiful a rooms were very spacious. We loved the locations. Breakfast buffet was delicious and well worth the money. Definitely will stay here again.

Staff was extremely friendly, room was clean, and it was dog friendly. The only unpleasantness I experienced during my stay was that there was a line during check-in and there were only 2 people working. 7-10min. wait.

Front Desk staff was super helpful! There was an issue with my reservation, however. They “upgraded” me to the room I paid for and I had to mention the M club access I also paid for. Did not realize I would also be charged a $75 incidental fee on top of my reservation. This should be listed SOMEWHERE on Expedia and on the Marriott website/app.

My husband and I stayed at Syracuse downtown Marriott from Oct 3-5, 2023 while visiting family. The Syracuse weather was surprisingly nice for the time of the year. The hotel was in a good area, a restaurant in the hotel as well as a bar. There are also several restaurants in the area. Our was located in a good area, it was pretty quiet, the room was clean, beds we’re comfortable, the price was reasonable. One thing that was a negative to me, was the daily self parking rate $19.00/day. Upside it was across the street from the hotel, I would stay there again.

Staff was great, but cleanliness was far from good

Friendly staff, good food. Nice building. Probably the best hotel in the area. We are going to come back.
Small negative things:
We had a light noise all night due the electrical room beside us. Our tv was in an awkward position, not in front the bed nor the sofa. And they forgot to put shampoo in the bottle.

I loved the beautiful reception, very classic!

It was a busy weekend, our room want not ready at check in. Christian at front desk upgraded to an available room and drink vouchers for the inconvenience. Great location to Armiey Square, Dome, hospital etc. Very clean with a old world touch.

Staff was terrific.
Eco friendliness is a rubbish hoax.
As I was traveling with my well mannered poodle, I could not try any of the the restaurants.

Very expensive! It was for college move in and most hotels were full. Paid $600/night! Air conditioner in room was loud, mold in shower, no housekeeping and seemed to be limited staff. Definitely wouldn't stay again.

The parking situation was frustrating because the pedestrian bridges were closed for renovations so you’re forced to walk on the street and around the building which can be a lengthy walk. Ordered room service at 8pm and it was not delivered until 10pm and that was after I received someone else’s order because my order was lost. Just overall very disappointed with service and my stay at the hotel. Will not be returning.

It was difficult to reach front desk via the telephone. I kept getting stuck in a automated loop when I just wanted to talk to a person. There was no “front desk” or “concierge” button on the phone. Also, the outside noise was annoying when I was trying to sleep

Incredible staff. Beautiful hotel. Very convenient location.

The hotel is very tarred down, dirty, the rugs in the rooms and all over the hotel have stains, the don’t have towels (only two bath towels) no hand towels, no bath rugs, etc. if you asked for anything they make you go down to the reception to get it. This is not the first time we stay here and it gets worst every time. Unfortunately in Syracuse there are not a lot of hotels and this is supposed to be the nicest one.

They were very accommodating. They were very considerate and caring knowing our previous hotel situation.

Intrigued by the history- dated, overpriced, dirty with inattentive staff- never found a waitress, or housekeeping, no one answered phones
2.0
Great hotel with updates and renovations but still preserving the beauty of the grand old hotel it was.

The parking garage is very confusing and the checkin person was rude when we were irritated about it.
No linens on sofa bed and huge water leak in bathroom.
Manager refunded 1/2 the fee.

Staff were great

We were planning to just be passing through Syracuse but given the history of the hotel, its location and the comfort of the room we decided to make it a destination and linger longer before heading toward the east coast. Staff was incredibly helpful and polite. The room was gorgeous and the kids and I were fascinated with learning more about the history of the building.
