First I’d Like to say the guy at the desk checking us in is 5 star. That being said, this hotel is very dirty. They have a serious issue with small brown ants (piss ants in the states) they are all over the pool area and in our room. The door knob was broken. We were literally locked in our room. It just kept spinning around. But the desk guy came right away and changed it. The help is great, the hotel is not even good. It needs a deep cleaning everywhere. Especially the tile around the pool and trash cans as well. It’s the cheapest around but you definitely get what you pay for.

If you are looking for an inexpensive stay this is great. Close to bay st and shopping. Hotel is clean and staff are very friendly. Bathrooms are not very big but for a nice clean room it was perfect.

We had originally planned on staying at an Airbnb but didn’t realize how far away we were from the main tourist attractions and what part of the city we were so when we arrived here we were so happy! The staff was welcoming and helpful with any questions we had. They have a parrot Max that they told us has been there since the 90s, was able to get some pets in but he warning he doesn’t like the men very much. The food and happy hour was great as well! Would definitely stay here again if we return to Nassau. Thank you to the staff for taking care of us!

An ok place to stay if you want to be in Nassau. The rooms and utilities are small but practical. The pool and roof are decent but don’t get much use. The wifi is not reliable throughout, but works pretty well in the lobby. The staff are friendly and Max the parrot greets all visitors. Downtown Nassau was pretty deserted at night in January.

The hotel is obviously an older structure which adds to its charm. However this also works against it by the lack of electrical outlets in the room and the age of the fixtures. I did like the artwork by local artists in the common areas.

The walls are super thin, you could literally hear everything that’s happening in the next rooms and outside couldn’t sleep at all. I called to complain and nothing was done. The breakfast I took a bite and threw it away terrible and the shower is extremely small and clog easily. The furnitures were also wore done and broken. Overall wouldn’t recommend.

The location of the hotel makes it convenient walk around near by stores. The room was decent enough, however this place isnt very quiet. Breakfaat was okay(boiled eggs, toast, salami, tea and stick cheese). Overall, the staff was very friendly and made the experience less awful, and you can walk to any store and food joint.

Even at the cheap price it isn't worth it. You don't need to have an alarm, every morning at 6 am these very obnoxious air blowers are going, AC didn't work, I couldn't fit in bathroom and hotel was very dilapidated.

I liked that the staff provided a great service and were friendly, I did not like the fact that there were not enough outlets, and that all the furniture really needs to be updated, there were a lot of mosquitoes in the room and in the hotel in general.

I’ve actually stayed here before & had a decent experience, which is why I returned. The hotel is in an excellent location, the heart of downtown Nassau. My check-in was good, the woman at the front desk had a great personality- very professional. The bellman was super kind! In fact I remembered him from my last visit. The room…a whole other story. Let’s start with the humongous dead cockroach in the bathroom. I called the front desk, whomever I spoke with was very apologetic, maintenance came straight away, removed it &sprayed bug spray in a few corners. Next, the microwave. I attempted to heat food-opened the microwave door &there were dishes inside. Took them out, put my food container in, pressed the start button& heard a crackling sound. It was plugged into a surge protector (along with the TV& mini fridge which I didn’t think were too many items. I unplugged the TV& tried again. heard crackling again, didn’t want to risk electric shock so I ate my good cold. Back to the bugs. There were gnats, spiders & some other unknown little flying insects I battled with all night. I did call the front desk twice, no answer either time so I wrapped myself in the blanket& slept off& on all night. next morning I didn’t want the breakfast there, as I was grossed out. Went on with my day, when I got back that evening I decided to sit on the balcony. seating area was riddled with cigarette butts& a cigar. Upon check-out I asked for a small 16oz bottle of water, price was $3.30. Insane.

I don't understand why this place has so many good stars. The pros are its location is great and it was affordable compared to other hotels in the same area. The cons are while it's not disgustingly dirty, it's old and doesn't appear clean; the bed is as old as the hotel; the bathroom is tiny and it's a 50/50 chance on if you'll have hot water (let it run 15 minutes for your best shot), it's very very noisy (they have a bird on property that you can hear all night not to mention other guests). Maybe if you're in your 20s, all of this would be OK with you. Otherwise, consider paying a bit more.

Pros: Location is close to the Bay Street strip; Good coffee and orange juice for breakfast! Cons: Pool is disgusting and the pictures of the pool online are very deceiving (likely used a wide angled lens)! Toilet didn't work! AC didn't work! TV remote didn't work! After calling about each issue, the maintenance man was able to fix these things but clearly not a good place to book your vacation at. UNLESS you order breakfast, the included items are not worth eating. Be sure to give yourself enough time to have a taxi drive you to the airport since they are NOT readily available outside the hotel NO MATTER what the front desk tells you. After complaining about these things, they didn't give us any discount for our troubles.

The hotel has a great location in the picturesque section of old town Nassau. Quiet street, close to shopping and restaurants. Nice lobby with interesting art and a macaw. Rooms look out onto an open courtyard, shielding them from outside noise, but the courtyard itself can be quite noisy during the evening. Very helpful staff. I could get only lukewarm water in at night. Excellent air conditioning. Mediocre breakfast was included and the advertised supplements such as omelets and pancakes were not available. Most of the nearby restaurants close at 6:00 PM when the cruise ship crowds leave, but you can walk to the many Bahamian conch and fish places on Fish Fry St (about a mile along Bay Ave). Or have a a decent meal in the hotel. The Towne hotel is excellent value for the price. Mostly a Bahamian clientele.
