Love this place

Not impressed especially since my shower was cold. :(

Room was clean but is showing it’s age. While showering water wouldn’t drain.

Very friendly! Quiet and relaxing! Beautiful atmosphere.

This is a great place to stay. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. Everyone that we interacted with was so nice and courteous.

Nice for older place. I don't like how lake is across busy street from hotel and camp grounds.

30 years ago it was, no doubt, a gem. Today, it’s in bad need of a major renovation.

The stay was more than expected and their food was so good. We wish we were living closer because we would dine there frequently. Also, they have affordable prices for hotel and cabin stays. We will definitely return.

This is one of our favorite places to stay around starkville area for football and baseball tournaments! 30 min drive to state games and easy access!

Very, very neglected property. Horrible stains at bottom of toilet & in corner of bathroom. We arrived early & room wasn’t available so front desk took phone number to call when room was ready. We waited in parking lot, although of course we could have stayed inside. At official check in time still had received no call. When I went inside to see what was going on, I learned that all rooms had already been cleaned & they didn’t call because they were “too busy.” Ordinarily that would not have been a problem but we had limited time to change clothes & drive to another town for a wedding & had not realized the check in time was 4 PM. Obviously mistake about check in time was on us but their asking for phone number but never calling was on them. When we got back that night had very difficult time getting keys to open our door. Key (old fashioned key) worked fine earlier but we were on verge of calling office when we finally jiggled one of the 2 keys in just the right way to open the door. That of course was little more than annoyance but certainly did not raise my opinion of this property. I can say desk between beds had generous options for plugging in devices. Also bedding looked nice with bright white comforters, but those comforters were apparently designed for Alaskan winters & the only other option for cover while we slept was the sheet. I can say that AC unit worked very well.

Though our travel here was for a life celebration we throughly enjoyed the resort. Yes a bit summer camp feeling, which we absolutely love, everyone was incredibly friendly and nice and the facilities are in good shape. Feeding the duck, geese and fish was a daily event. Let me tell you they have some awesome cooks!

Everything was great!!

This place has great potential but needs a lot of money pumped into it to reach that potential. The place is falling apart. There were bugs in the bed of our first room, and our second room had a strong marijuana smell. We were told the cleaning staff is subpar and tends to leave open doors after cleaning. I believe this because most of the doors in our cabins either did not close or needed to be lifted to close and lock. Hinges in the rooms and the dining room area were rusty, and light switches reminded me of the ones I had growing up in the 80s. The breakfast bar was limited and had dried eggs due to staff not paying attention. The orange juice tasted well.

Stayed here a few times over the years. Beautiful location, rooms are in good condition. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Has a good restaurant for lunch or dinner.

Weekends Only... I requested a room on the top floor facing the lake. Even though there were only a couple cars in the entire parking lot of the motel, I was given a ground floor room NOT facing the lake. When checking in, the clerk's attention was only on her adult daughter behind the counter. When asked about the breakfast offered, I was told that it only applies to Fri/Sat night stays. When asked about the restaurant advertised as open 7 days per week, I was told it was closed during my stay. The lake was beautiful! The service was not.

Every thing

Beautiful seating by the lake! Sad only able to use water Saturday and Sunday. AC worked wonderfully and the beds were clean and soft!

The staff is excellent. The food is good. The lake and it’s surroundings are beautiful. However, the rooms are dated and in need of an overhaul.

They had a large number of youth set up in front of our room to their point we could not park in the spot for our room. They had tables and boxes blocking our door when we needed to get to our room for an afternoon rest period from meetings we were attending. The radio was set on the window sill of the window outside and blaring music. The floors were so dirty that we had to clean the bottom of our feet after just taking a shower and walking to the bed. It was very disappointing when we had to manipulate the cold water facet in the shower to have cold water because it was broken and could only turn on the hot water facet. My husband had to work with it every time we got a shower.

Our front entry way was blocked with boxes, tables, radio placed on the window sill of our room blasting! Loud kids everywhere by our room. My husband couldn’t even park near our room due to the teenagers setting up registration tables with boxes everywhere in front of our room. The floor in the motel is not being mopped. I had dirt on the bottom of my feet just going from the shower to the bed! I had to wipe the bottom of my feet off before getting in the bed. The facets in the shower was stripped and we had to manipulate them to get the cold to even work. I couldn’t even rest when I came to my room in between meetings due to the level of noise at our door. I was very disappointed in our overall stay.

We are still here will check out at 11:00. I have my granddaughter and great granddaughter here to celebrate her 10th Birthday. The food was delicious had fried chicken 🐓 it was Great. The girls loved the Mac and cheese and string beans. The lemon pie was my favorite good old fashioned from scratch. The room was huge 2 Queen size bed. kitchen was clean and living room sofa and two love seat. The bathroom was small. But it was clean and served the purpose for 4 female. First time here. Safe family environment where you can sit and watch children. Don’t have to get in pool unless u desire to. Thanks for your service we will return. God Bless your business.

Booked this on a whim and so glad we did! The room was perfect as we stayed in 88 and it was front door parking with no steps! The room also has a microwave:). The fridge could manage to be replaced but no other complaints there! The facility was just too cute and perfect for a weekend getaway. Walmart is a mile or two away. The downtown shops looked so cute so maybe next time we can shop them. I will be back for sure. Take some stuff to roast on the fire if they have it going.

We had a really good time. Just know that all food is very pricey at this place. You will want to bring some groceries. Great fun for everyone in the family, and beautiful scenery!! Good place to throw parties of all kinds!!

Walls are too thin. We could hear people talking in room next door and their dog barking.

I felt that it was reasonable and a calm environment. And the hostess was a very friendly gentleman that helped you in the restuarant. His warm smile made for a pleasant evening . ☺️

Location & scenery

This is a family friendly, family owned operation that has been around for decades. The lake is beautiful and the people are very nice. With that said, I ended up with multiple bug bites from staying in the motel room. I was never in the woods, or even off pavement for that matter, so it could have only co.e from there.

Great food at the restaurant. The lake views and baby ducks were very enjoyable .
