Everything was just perfect!! A beautiful, cozy cabin with great rooms, quilts, fireplace, fire pit and great for a Gobble table and time and space for family games!! We would certainly stay here again!! Near to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock!! Thank Noreen and JR for your hospitality!! As a VRBO host myself, your place definitely deserves five stars in all areas! As for a few who whined in their comments about the gravel road to the cabin, what did you expect!!! You’re in the high foothills! We loved the ride up and down from the cabin! Thank you! Cozy cabin tucked back in the hills. We had no issues with the property. Accommodations were nice and super clean; even better than the pictures present. Property manager was great.

You definitely feel like you are in the woods with the authentic log style, exterior and beautiful trees that surround the property. I saw a bear on the way into Lake lure the day I arrived. I also saw several beaver on the sides of the road, and crossing. Definitely a magical place I shall return.

We absolutely loved JR’s cabin. From the solitude of the surroundings to the amenities and comfort it was everything we hoped it would be. The owners were always readily available if needed. The cabin was spotlessly clean and supplied with just about everything. Our two small dogs loved the fenced and secure yard. Close to Lake Lure, Chimney Rock plus a grocery store nearby made it even more convenient. We will return for sure.

The property itself is overall nice, but the gravel roads to get there were a bit of a pain. We did run into an internet availability problem, but it was due to the owner's plan not providing a high enough data limit for the amount of data that we used over our 2 week stay, which did involve M-F work that required internet usage.

A fabulous escape awaits you and your dog at JR’s Cabin! My partner and I took a long weekend here with our fuzzy little pup and it was amazing. The cabin is warm and welcoming, with well-appointed rooms and delightful touches. We loved the dog bowls already set out, the excellent cookware and the mindfulness coloring books and pencils! Having a secure fenced yard for our dog was priceless, and we loved relaxing on the porch almost as much as he did! The proximity to water recreation and great hiking was outstanding. At the end of the day, we could unwind with a beautiful stroll down the quiet, rustic road or veg out with excellent cable options or wi-fi time on our own devices. The owners are kind folks who are generous with their itinerary suggestions and assistance. Look no more— this is the one!

Riverbend is a private community with access to the Broad River and 2 lakes for swimming. We stayed mainly at the Old Swimming Hole right after the entrance because we had 2 dogs with us. JRs cabin was perfect for my family of 4 (plus pups). The yard is fenced. I was really impressed with the extras throughout the cabin. All of the cookware is higher quality and there was bug spray/sunscreen/first aid kit available if needed. Less than 20 min to Lake Lure and really close to the Ingles for groceries. Definitely recommend!

We loved JR’s cabin located in a mountain oasis in the Lake Lure area. Very convenient location to area attractions. Gated community with a small lake and river…gravel road to the cabin was fine with our SUV. The cabin was comfortable and had everything needed for our stay. So nice having coffee on the porch in such peaceful surroundings! The owner was very responsive and accommodating.

The cabin was perfect. It was clean and better stocked than any place I have stayed. I appreciated all the extra little things like a first aid kit and the mustard and mayonnaise. The rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. I did not bring my dog, but I will definitely return with my fur baby. The yard was securely fenced. Dispite being a dog friendly cabin, there is no dog smell. My only suggestion is to include in the description that there are steep, dirt roads to get up to the cabin.

Cabin was as listed. The fenced yard was a plus as we were able to let the dog out to play on her own. The overall location was great, with the gated community, nature walks, river, and lake. The only problem that we found was the washer had mold in it and our allergies flared up really bad. We cleaned it the best we could and informed the owner of what we found.

JR'S Cabin is a wonderful getaway for a couple or small group. Located in River Bend, it is charming, comfortable, well appointed, and the owners have made it dog friendly with a secure fence around the property. It is minutes from Lake Lure and a short drive to Rutherfordton, NC. We have stayed at other properties in the area, but JR's Cabin is our favorite and definitely one we will return to.

This property was better than described. The owner keeps it spotless. If they don’t have something in there available you don’t need it. Cozy, relaxing, quiet and just wonderful! We had a fire inside every night which kept the cabin toasty without needing to turn up the heat. Noreen the owner was immediately responsive when we had a question. We will be back!

Great location, just where we wanted to be. Communication with Host was excellent. We really appreciated the fenced in area available for our dog, the beds were comfy - and I have never stayed in a more well-provisioned rental - all the kitchen basics and beyond! At the last minutes we had to come up with a new vacation plan and found this cabin. This turned out to be the perfect time away for us! We were already familiar with the general area, but the first time we have been able to truly relax and enjoy it. The cabin is exactly as described and then some. It was cozy and comfortably. It far exceeded our expectations in every way. While we did not bring our small dogs for this trip, the cabin and yard are extremely secure and I would hesitate to bring them in the future. We are already planning our next stay!

Jr Cabin was nicely located in the mountain. We enjoyed the spacious living space and rooms. We were most impressed that the cabin provided condiments and spices, as well as ketchup mustard and butter. Saved us from buying that stuff. We also enjoyed both the BBQ and Fire Pit. This quaint peaceful cabin made for a great getaway. We even ended up bringing our small fur babies and so glad we did. It was perfectly safe and well prepared for them. Only disappointment we found was gas grill was out but the kitchen was so well stocked we found the perfect cast iron skillet for steaks. Turned out great. Even on a rainy day we just enjoyed time together, playing cards, and swinging on the front porch swing. This is a peaceful place with everything you will need. We certainly look forward to another visit.
