Good location, nice service, tiny rooms but thats NY dont expect anything normal. Great bedding and nice bathroom . Expensive for what it is, id compare to a nice hilton, crown plaza as to room quality. What i didnt like was the resort fee or whatever they call the extra fee, I dont know what value I received for that charge, paying close to $350 for a tiny room then been nickle and dimed with a special fee then 98 dollars for valet parking for 24 hours is a rip off. New York is basically making it impossible to spend any time other than a one night deal unless you have money to burn. Id rather stay in another tourist area that offers me a better value for the money spent.

The hotel was in a great location for our visit. Walking distance to Grand Central. It was easy to navigate the city. The hotel was clean and staff was very friendly. I would stay here again if I ever traveled to the city again.

I do wish they would offer free coffee!

The Westgate has character. It’s a refurbished old classical hotel and the artwork and ambiance is special.

I chose this hotel because it had great reviews and it has a very good location. I’m really glad I did because I loved it! The hotel has a vintage feel (more like the 20s) and is very well decorated. The staff was friendly and attentive. My room was made every single day and it was completely cleaned. I will 100% recommend this hotel.

I very much enjoyed my stay at Westgate. The newly renovated rooms felt very luxurious, and the location was amazing. A 10 min walk to Grand Central Terminal, and you can get anywhere in the city. A 15 min walk to 5th ave for all the shopping you need! I have stayed in a lot of NYC hotels that I don't want to go back to, but I will be staying here again.

To start, the staff was able to check us in early, which was greatly appreciated. The rooms are bright and clean but, if you're using the sofa bed make sure the used bedding has been removed. Also, queen suite layout is a little awkward. The space between the bed and the TV leaves little room to reach the bathroom.

The hotel is nice and clean. Room sizes are decent for NYC and the location is very convenient for work travel.

The room next to us smelled like drugs. I asked the security to ask them to stop because my 8 year old and 7 year old were smelling it and it was a very strong smell. They not only didn’t do anything to help us, the woman at the front desk laughed and said we can change rooms, at midnight.

Had four nights in NYC with my family. Hotel was close to Grand Central station for the subway, had friendly staff and things were clean. It does take time to get any extra towels/blankets you may need, so ask with plenty of time before you need them. Would stay there again!

Each room is supposed to come with a coffee maker. If there's not one in your room when you check it - it's up to the guest to call the desk and request one. It will be delivered quickly to your door.
Plan ahead.
5 AM is the wrong time to realize there's no coffee maker in your room.

Elegant well kept older style hotel that has been updated with refitted rooms having all amenities you could need. Good area near to Central station - far away enough to be quiet but close enough, a short 10 minute walk

The staff was very attentive and friendly. As for the hotel’s condition, I appreciate that the room was renovated but frankly there was really poor workmanship in our room (1021). Examples include visible underlay flooring beneath the sick, original door trim in the bathroom door and no shelf of any kind in the shower for soap, etc. I would have expected better for price we paid for the room.

Easy access and great location. I would suggest to do something with the windows because they are too easy to open and have no rails or safety protection for kids. The carpet was dirty, especially around the nightstand between the beds.

Had a fantastic stay. Rooms are newly renovated and bigger than I expected based on pics. Service was exceptional. Several restaurants close by. Not sure how I got my wires tangled but I thought this hotel was a couple minute walk from Times Square which it’s not but that was fine. Would certainly stay here again!

The staff was really amazing. We got our room upgraded and the pictures don’t do justice. It’s close walking distance to stores and not loud as some reviews mention. Housekeeping did a great job cleaning and the bellhops were really sweet and helpful especially the night time guy they had.

We did not have any issues on our stay. Hotel room size was decent and within walking distance of grand central station. Great location

Suited my needs well in terms of location. Staff was somewhere between laid-back and lackadaisical.
Bed was very comfortable; room was very quiet
Water pressure in the shower wasn’t strong at all
Reasonably priced

The hotel was subpar. The bellhops barely opened doors when seeing that guests were struggling with bags and luggage. They spent more time standing around and talking to eachother than anything. The hotel also cut off the air leaving us in a room that was 78 degrees. When asking if someone could accommodate for being in such a hot room. We were told to simply open a window. With paying almost $800 to stay here I thought that was very dismissive. Overall I will not be staying there again.

The room wasn’t as big as I expected for a renovated king size room with a supposed living room basically we got a 1 bedroom with a couch in it the worst part is we kept getting locked out of our own room for the 2 nights we stayed we walked down to the receptionist to constantly have them open our room door or reset the keys annoying after a long day of walking one nice thing is we had a friendly housekeeper who tried her best to help all weekend hate that I forgot her name

Staff was incredibly nice and responsive. The rooms and common areas were clean and well designed. Easy access to Grand Central. Would definitely stay here again.

The location is excellent. Walking distance to many attractions and Grand Central Station. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The service staff was very nice and friendly, something the front desk staff should learn as well. Overall it was a very nice stay and a great value.

Great spot with a lot of history to it. Experience was good. Additional charges by the hotel for basic amenities were a lot higher than I expected them to be.
