Completely awesome, second time staying there and didn't disappoint. The people, the views , the restaurant staff, excellent. No A/C no problem opened the sliding doors and let the outside in. Cool breeze coming from the ocean. Low water pressure in the shower but managable.

Great views of the bay, and convenient location for walking. Amazing parking lot if you have a larger vehicle. That being said, our room only had fans and the ceiling ones were sketchy and the floor fan was insanely loud. You can hear señor frogs music until 4am on the weekend, even with the balcony door closed

The location and view are fantastic. They should upgrade their beds and mattresses. They are the weak link to this lovely old Mexican hotel. It's hard to recommend with only double beds and poor mattresses.

Beautiful views. Super friendly staff. The beds couldbe morecomfortable.

The property is one of the earliest constructed hotels in the area, and so it has a lot of genuine character. The view is unparalleled; we could see boats and fireworks and even whales!

This horrible. First and foremost no AC. Poor location. Old bed linens and towels. Terrible.

I wish i could post a picture. There was a fence above my door. So instead of a wall it was wood fencing. I could hear everything. No privacy.
There was also false advertising. The room i picked said there was a patio and panoramic view.
There was a gross film on the floor and the bed was super hard.

Have been to Puerto Vallarta many times. Spent time at this hotel many years ago. Wife had problems with her knee, so walking to the property was not easy, as it is almost 200 ft above sea level. According to other guests we spoke to, the property is for sale. It appears that not much money is being used for improvements. Hotel staff was pleasant and friendly.

It was dated not clean room don’t have a way to lock them in the inside and there’s also no coffee no food nearby

The view was spectacular!!! It’s up on the hill, not easy to get to. You definitely need a taxi to get to the town or good shoes to make the 15 min walk.
Unfortunately the day we reserved the hotel had no running water. We were out of water at 11:00pm, we had to make a new reservation.

Great location and wonderful people. Unparalleled views and refreshing pool. Ocean breeze and ceiling fans work for me. El Panorama restaurant is nice too.

Probably nicest people working at front desk and restaurant I have ever met. Only complaint was no air conditioning. Restaurant was so hot was not in mood to eat. Fans throughout the restaurant would fix the problem.

Great property in a great location! The staff was friendly and check-in was simple. The rooms are large and have a great view. A quick walk to the malecon, restaurants, and shopping.

This is such a special hotel! Beautiful views, friendly staff, and charming rooms. Stayed for 4 nights and will come back on my next trip to PV. The neighborhood is walkable and in a great location in the city close to the Malecón. The 2 bedroom suite had a great layout. Pool was quiet and has a great view. A nice change from the loud energy of a resort. A read and return library, wifi, and water jug in the room were great. Super easy to catch buses near by or grab a cab/Uber.
Drawback: The pool chairs need to be replaced. They are basically unusable.

La Siesta is a Nostalgic unique place to stay. Our room was spacious and suitable. There is room for improvement a little more attention to minor repairs and deep cleaning would improve the ratings. The Panoramic Restaurant is second to none food, entertainment, ambiance, service and the spectacular PANORAMIC VIEW.
Minimizes the small imperfections. We would definitely stay again.

Excellent location. Walk down the hill cab up. No problem. Very clean and large rooms. Well equipped kitchen with a table. Comfortable sitting room. The restaurant is the best in paurto vallarta. Great staff, great food and perfect view. The staff went above everything to please us. Stayed three nights and ate there two times.

Lovely hotel, amazing views and location. It is right downtown, close to restaurants, transportation and the beach. You do hear the sounds of the city at night, especially when leaving the windows open, wifi is not consistent and the stairs can be a challenge, but if these things are not an issue for you, it is a perfect place to stay.

Upon my arrival I was notified the hotel was full, and no rooms available, regardles of having a paid reservation and confirmation available. Some areas of room not clean. Remotes for tv dont work, only one tv channel was available. Lots of trash bags outside building. I found mice poop on the cushion of sofa. Poor customer service.

Perfect location. Beautiful views.
Cons: the pool is in shade most of the day and icy cold. The beds are torture. They need new mattresses and the loungers by the pool badly need replacing. The hotel suffers from neglect. That said, it has a certain charm. My first instinct was to find another hotel but after a few days it grew on me. Walking to the Malecon, you have the option of steep stairs or a steep road. The road is easier and after a few days the climb becomes a non issue. The restaurant and bar don’t open until 5:00 and there are no amenities.

Pros: great view, large balcony, room is very large. Staff clean as well as they can given the condition of the property
Cons: very noisy until as late as 4am from dance clubs on malecon. A lot of steep steps or very steep street to access by foot. Hotel is very dated and run down. Hallways are poorly lit. Pool loungers and chairs falling apart, no umbrellas. Elevator noisy and kinda scary. Most of outlets in room are only 2 prong. No AC and fans in room are noisy. Wi-Fi is hit and miss in room but ok in lobby. No safe in room. The advertised "complete kitchen" is an old fridge, microwave dishes, cutlery & small coffee maker but no coffee.
Weird obsession with guests abusing towels, we had to sign a paper agreeing to a penalty for abused towels, this was emphasised by a notice in the room
Bring your own shampoo, non supplied
No bar on site, restaurant opens at 5pm

The hotel is in disrepair. There were switches that did not work, also the telephone. I left after 4 days because I needed the WiFi and theirs did not work.

Staff was wonderful, restaurant is well run with fantastic waiters and great food-open for dinner only. We loved being away from the beach front scene. The view was fabulous and we saw lots of whales. The pirate ship set off fireworks every night right in front which was fun. The pool area was low key and very clean-not heated but pleasant temperature for swimming (January). The hike up from the malecon is delightful but very steep on a brick lined staircase-4 blocks pretty straight up from the ocean but felt old world. Our only real negative was the 2 bars on the malecon-4 blocks away that play LOUD techno-beat music every night until 3:30-4:00 which was really annoying so if you are a light sleeper may not like it. Surprised that the business and neighbors allow that because it was so heavy base that you felt the beat. We were on the 5th floor so maybe it’s louder there.

We were not expecting all the amenities! Our room had a full kitchen with pots/pans and plates/glassware. The view from the room was incredible and we loved how close we were to the beach. The service was excellent, our room always looked great and office staff was very friendly and helpful as well. We also loved the option of going up to the roof for dinner or drinks! Overall a very lovely stay!
