We stayed twice, going to and coming back from Nashville. The staff is wonderful and the facility is steeped in history. The only downside is that it is a little "dated" as one would expect being an "Historic Hotel of America" ... The bathrooms are on the small side but in general it was a very comfortable stay. The food in the restaurant was very good and spending some quiet time rocking on the front porch was quite nice. When in this area I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else.

Absolutely charming inn. We had breakfast in the breakfast room and dinner and drinks in the Speakeasy. Delicious and a very welcoming friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend. The room was very nice the furniture was beautiful. We truly enjoyed ourselves. Highly recommend.

Great place . Perfect location to get in and out of Shenandoah for some hiking by day and good food and drink at night

Beautiful historical hotel. Rooms are small but that’s not surprising as the hotel was built in the 1930s. Only complaint is that the pedestal sink had no counter space. The Speakeasy restaurant was great

Mimslyn is undergoing renovation, which we were able to work around. The breakfast could be more generous. Our room was great, nicely accommodating three people. When we asked for room assistance, we got it. We really enjoyed the historical charm of the place.

We went to visit the Luray Caverns and this was very close to it (about 4 miles). The hotel and the room were very clean. The hotel had some great views in certain areas you can go to.They also have two restaurants. We were there on a Thursday and they were having some remodeling done but it didn’t interfere with anything we did. We very much enjoyed our time there.

Wow. This was such a huge disappointment. I went for a girls night away and it was a nightmare. The room was not as advertised. Tiny TV, old small electric fireplace, florescent lights everywhere, non inviting room. Room wasn’t as expected at all. Went downstairs since nothing is open. The speakeasy was unexpectedly closed so we bought a bottle of wine of our own to take in the lobby and enjoy by the fireplace. The Rude woman at the lobby desk named Rachel was extremely disrespectful. She goes on to say “did you buy that wine here?” And says you can’t drink any outside wine here. Says it very blunt and rude. There are no signs anywhere stating that you can’t drink alcohol that you bring yourself. I suggest getting a sign that states that and also not false advertising what your rooms look like. We will not return.

This is beautiful and quaint historic property. Well appointed with two great restaurants.. not pretensious in anyway. The rooms were immaculate and beautiful. Slept like a babe.

The hotel was beautiful and well maintained. The food for the hotel and its Speakeasy downstairs was good. The Spa massage was great and my wife and I felt very relaxed afterwards. The hotel was just minutes from other nice restaurants and the Luray Caverns.

Good food, salad a little stale.

Very nice, but they have hidden fees and you aren't allowed to play the piano in the lobby.

It was a classic hotel that has been around for almost 100 years but has been renovated to bring it to today’s standards. It has lots of character and charm. The “Speakeasy” on the lower level was a great spot for dinner and drinks. Overall, I highly recommend it!

The historical history was very nteresting. Enjoyed the lobby display. The Speakeasy restaurant was good. Music a bit loud.
The property looks a bit “ tired”. Needs some new decor, bathroom tiles & room decor.

The Inn itself is lovely, but the parking was difficult if you were out for the day and came back too late. People not staying at the inn drove and parked there to dine at its restaurant/bar.

Beautiful old Southern mansion in a quaint, lovely mountainside town. Nothing not to like!

We enjoyed our stay very much at your historical inn! Everything and everyone was so nice. One of your young door attendants was exceptional and gave us an unexpected gift. We would stay there again!

The bed needs to be replaced. Old and not very comfortable. Did not appreciate the extra fee of $7.99 for restoration.

Beautiful historic building. My wife and I spent our honeymoon there 56 years ago. The owners have gone a long way to renovate this beautiful building. The grounds are well cared for and there are beautiful vistas of the mountains. We visited on a fall day and the changing colors were spectacular. We had both dinner and breakfast in the hotel and the service was great, the prices reasonable and the food tasty. We look forward to returning many times. It is convenient to skyline drive and many Virginia byways. Best of all, my wife loved it and spent the whole drive home saying what a good time she had.

It’s a lovely place, very elegant, but warm and welcoming

Its an old and quaint Inn with character. I enjoyed my stay but not my room. My room was tiny (which I could handle) but outside my window were six air conditioning compressors servicing 6 rooms. (so much for a view), but the noise from six units kicking on and off through out the night makes sleep difficult. The pillows were well overdue for replacement and last but not least the cabinet housing a small television is located on the side wall next to the bed, making it extremely awkward to comfortably watch. I had booked this thru Expedia well in advance and for a three night stay. (what a disappointment). Please note, the Inn has better rooms, just be sure you get one..

Beautiful historic hotel. Service excellent. Speakeasy lounge had entertainment and excellent food. Very convenient to have this restaurant at the hotel.

It’s a beautifully maintained historic hotel in Luray VA. The common areas reflect the grandness and style of the era of its creation and updated to reflect the comfort we want in the bedrooms. The service was quick and efficient in the dining room, especially Leah who met every inquiry or request with a happy and pleasant demeanor.

Wonderful charm and staff. Rooms are spacious. Beds are very soft mattress which we like. Great weekend stay.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was small but cozy and perfectly adequate for a couple traveling without children. The bathroom was small, but the shower had the best showerhead and water pressure of any hotel I have stayed in. I liked that the restaurant has two levels with different atmospheres. The food was excellent.

I stayed here with my daughter and absolutely loved that the hotel and outdoor property had such a welcoming presence. Everyone on staff that we encountered (including the restaurant) was genuinely friendly and very helpful. The only thing that was a disappointment was the size of the room (1 Queen Bed). There is not a lot of room to move around and I did not like that the bed was so close to the room door. To be fair the hotel does say the room is modest in the description.
I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!
