The hotel was magnificent. However, the dining experience was not what you would expect from this category of hotel. The food was mediocre at best.

It was a beautiful stay! The staff were all so very friendly and helpful. Definitely will recommend to others.

The resort is in a good location that is within walking distance to all shops along Mirror Lake. Front desk staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Landscaping around the property is beautiful and well kept. I personally did not dine at The View or The Cottage.
I have no specific complaints other than the price that I paid for my room. For over $600 /night on average I was expecting more updated rooms and facilities. The room itself was clean and had a beautiful view of Mirror Lake. The bathrooms definitely need some updating. The rooms also were not very soundproofed. We could hear our neighbors talking and whenever their TV was on during the daytime. For the price I paid it would have been nice to have a balcony at least. The pool and hot tub were spacious, but it is really the view from your room that you are paying top dollar for.

Everything about this stay was wonderful. Friendly staff, two excellent restaurants on site, beautiful views, walkable to downtown, bikes and kayaks/canoes on site. This place has all the charm you could ever want in an Inn.

Parking was a little tight. View from room 833 was breath taking. The decor for the room was so appropriatefor the area.
I stayed here twice back in 1971 and 1972 with a ski club from NJ (in the front Inn)
Will try to get back next year

The property is beautifully located with a wonderful view of the lake. It is walking distance to town and the area feels very safe. The staff was excellent and very attentive. The weather was not the best while we were there but not a reflection of the property. I felt for the price of over $500/night the place was just so so. The rooms and hallways need a full update. They are dark and dingy looking. I was expecting something more upscale which was not the case. The public areas also needed some sprucing. The couch in front of the fireplace is old and the springs were such that we sank into it. Some modernizing is needed. I realize it's a historical hotel but even so, it needs to be updated on a regular basis. The breakfast for $22.00 in my opinion was lacking - no better than what one expects at lodging along Rt 95 going to Florida. It was your basic pre made scrambled eggs, toast, bacon and sausage - nothing at all that stood out. We've been to Europe and the buffet breakfasts are amazing - the Inn would do well to follow their lead. Overall it was an ok facility not worth the money - we were disappointed and would not go back nor recommend it to others.

First time in the area, we loved it.

Beautiful facility with excellent and well trained staff. Location was near town but far enough away from road noise and traffic. Food service, quality, was excellent. Well maintained buildings and grounds, rooms were nicely appointed, clean and well kept. A great Adirondack experience.

I LOVED this place! The only disappointing part was that we were only here for one night. The sun-room part of the room, the lake view, having sliders open to let in the lake breeze, and the old-time feel of the hotel (while still being up to date on modern comforts) made this my new favorite place! I will definitely be returning to Lake Placid, just to have a few more nights in this hotel!!

We've started an annual tradition of a short winter getaway at Mirror Lake Inn. While the weather hasn't been very cooperative (rain in February in the Adirondacks is just wrong), the inn is delightful. Have had terrific meals both at the View and Cottage restaurants on site. Great staff, fantastic location.

Gorgeous views, Friendly staff, a short walk into the town, a short drive to White Face Mountain and chocolate chip cookies at the reception desk - What more could anyone want?

The Mirror Lake in was perfect! 5 stars! The inn is like walking into a Christmas Hallmark movie. The ladies at the front desk were so helpful and kind to my children ages 7 and 2. Complimentary cookies were a big hit. We stayed in one of the Oak rooms and the view was like being in a snow globe, magical. The Cottage dinner was excellent and the View breakfast as well. We can’t wait to return next season!

Charming historic hotel with beautiful lake and mountain views. An easy walk to shops and restaurants in downtown Lake Placid. Hotel staff are exceptionaly friendly. Lovely indoor pool, hot tub and sauna to relax in after a day of hiking. And the grounds were beautifully landscaped.

Like how close to the lake this property is and the activities included. However, the girl at the front desk and the housekeeper were the only friendly staff. Also, no microwave and small space. Much enjoyable experience at the Lodge.

Beautiful property; well maintained. A little pricy but comparable for the area, especially these days! Happily, it was a bit removed from all the construction underway downtown - we'll definitely come back! Lovely views of Mirror Lake from our room; very polite and helpful staff, especially the porter (Gregory, I think?) who kindly assisted us with our bags on checkin.

Mirror Lake in has a lot of history and that was really nice. The room and accommodations was very clean and cozy. Modern too. The view was particularly beautiful, well worth the extra cost. The lobby was beautiful too.

The hotel is amazing. Elegant and updated without losing itself in overkill modernity. Hands down, the best hotel on Mirror Lake.

Amazing Hotel! Views are incredible! Perfect place to go at Christmastime. Decorations are spectacular. The staff is super friendly, attentive and nice! The View Restaurant is one of the best in the country. We had an awesome time!

I spent two nights with my daughter and we enjoyed our stay immensely. We had spa appointments that were wonderful and we used the pool and Jacuzzi as well.
Our dinner in The View was fabulous! We walked up and down Main Street and enjoyed the unique shops along the way. All in all, we could not have had a better time. We even had snow to welcome us to winter wonderland.

This Resort is worth the splurge in $$~ So cutesy, cozy, and romantic! I feltlike I was in a Hallmark movie the entire trip. The indoor pool is awesome too. We could walk to town and Bars, so perfect! Especially with the6 inches of snow that fell! I sat in my chair with our Balcony doors open and a furry soft blanket, watching the Lake and snow fall! Simply Perfect!
