No room service, no help with luggage, horrible parking without elevator. No help with luggage, no luggage carts, rooms are outdated. Staff is rude and unprofessional. They need better training, multiple staff told us multiple conflicting rules. They never answer the phone. When they do answer the phone they put you on hold for 20-30 minutes then hang up in your face. Don’t ask to speak to manager because that will lead to you getting hung up on as well. The whole hotel probably should go out of business

Awesome location in the city around restaurants for ANY budget. The service was amazing, the cookies were delicious and warm...(that's a bonus), was not able to hear my neighbors. Overall a great stay! This was probably my 6th time staying here and I cannot remember having complaints.
Parking price.

Nice clean hotel, room was spacious and well finished.
Only a one night stay but having no hot water was a big disappointment for a higher end hotel brand. I raised this when i checked out with the hope of a credit in some form, however i was simply told it would bw fixed right away.

Not much.
Smell. I think people were smoking Marijuana in their room. Dirty rooms. Don't advertise a fuel kitchen without a single plate, pot or pan.

Location of the hotel
The breakfast was added in the room rate, but we were charged again when we down to eat.
Valet attendant left phone in vehicle, and my niece did not realize that the phone was left in her vehicle until she had gotten on the freeway. I thought it may have been our company cell phone but when I called the administrative assistant from our Houston office picked up. That's when we realized it must belong to valet. Instead of calling my cell phone number or the room they called the police and reported it stolen. The HPD in turn called my sister who lives in Virgina and said they've located the phone in niece's car and see it on the console. They would need her phone number, or they were going to break her window to retrieve the phone. When my sister did not give them her phone number. Front desk called the room at 2:30 am informing the police has located my niece's car and they will need her phone number so they could ask her to come open her car door and hand them the phone. I told them that I was not giving them her phone number and she did not steal the phone it was left in her car by the valet attendant Mohammed, and she will drop the phone off at the front desk when she returns.
I don't believe the HPD was involved because there was not a card left with the officer's contact information. Instead, the note left on her windshield was a HPD letterhead asking her to return the phone to the front desk at the Doubletree Hotel. I believe the attendant tracked his phone and tracked my nieces whereabouts the whole night. I stood on the balcony and watched my niece pull in the parking lot noticing a car pulling in the T-Mobile parking lot. Once my niece was inside the room the same car pulled into DoubleTree parking lot and Mohammed got out of the car and entered the building.
I typically stay at this hotel and it is enjoyable. However, since Covid this was my first time visiting Houston.

Location was good and as expected. Room was clean.
1. I wasn't aware that parking would be $30 per car. This may have been my fault for not reading about my stay enough beforehand. However, had I have known this, I would've arranged for my friend and I to only have 1 car to leave on property. We had both of our cars since we met there, so we both had to pay.
2. I am the one who booked the hotel with my credit card and used it at check-in upon arrival. However, since my friend and I both had to pay to park on property, they also ran her card for the $30 parking fee when we checked in. My card was the one initially charged for the stay and incidentals. After we checked out, my card got fully refunded and her card was charged for everything instead of mine. Room, her car, and my car, instead of just being charged for her parking fee. Not sure how this happened, but the next day both her and I tried calling the hotel multiple times and nobody ever answered. I left a message with no return call. We resolved the payment issue ourselves, but it caused an unnecessary hassle for us. I understand mistakes happen and her card was likely just charged in error, but the main issue I have is nobody answered our multiple phone calls or returned my message. I will never stay here again nor will I recommend anyone to stay here due to the staff's overall lack of awareness and willingness to resolve issues. Especially for the price being what it is.
