If I knew this

The lady at the front desk was exceptional at her job. It is the only positive thing I can say about this hotel.

The room had small bugs around the bathroom sink, the wood bathroom sink base appeared to have moisture damage with possible mildew or mold on it near the floor, the whole room had a musty smell, and the exterior was in the middle of being re-sided with new vinyl siding. Upon arriving there was constant hammering from a construction crew replacing siding and windows. There was construction materials and equipment surrounding the exterior of the building.

Perfectly lovely stay! Thank you!

The woman that checked us in ( Shelly, I was told.) was so sweet and kind! The room was great, especially since my son is in a wheelchair. Breakfast was great for us too! We really enjoyed our visit.

Old hotel, filthy and broken! Not worth the money!

Fridge and microwave did not work and was never replaced or fixed during our stay. Found 2 roaches in room. The room ceiling was cracked and look like it might collapse from previous water damage. This place should be charging around $75 per night not $175. It's more like a crack den.

Great stay off the freeway on a roadtrip

Front desk woman was incredibly kind and helpful, ended up upgrading us to a very nice suite. Room was clean, all the normal amenities you can expect.

The poor place had been hit by a massive hail storm a few weeks before us and hadn’t been fixed yet. The outside looked like a warzone but the rooms and inside were untouched, totally great.

Great place to stay when traveling across the country

Nice indoor pool and nice to have a hotel out in the middle of nowhere to stay

There really isn’t much of a town or good food nearby. Also had horrible Wi-Fi issues and my phones reception on data wasn’t any better

Good place to stay

The location and value were good. The staff was great. Cookies were a nice touch. It was good that they had a washer and dryer.

The washer/dryer room was the gate to hell! No ventilation and I don't think the lint trap had been cleaned in a long while. That said, it was great they have it, I just need a sauna! LOL! The serious issue was the breakfast. It was worst we have had in a good hotel in our travels. Eggs and sausage were burnt to the pan. Just bad. Bad for the Choice hotel brand. It is criminal that the insurance co. won't pay for the hail damage.

Not very clean

The bed was comfortable, convenient to I 80

The bathroom, specifically the toilet was dirty. Urine noted and hair when toilet sit was lifted. The light switch on entry to the room did not work so needed to use light from hallway to find desk light. The facility was worn.

Great

The staff and very pleasant and cordial. Any item needed they would provide. They go overboard in making your stay comfortable and you happy. While the rooms may be older they are exceptionally clean. The lines are soft and cuddly, the mattress provides an excellent night’s rest and you may want to take it home an is so comfortable. Each morning the shower was steamy hot with excellent pressure. We were there for five days for our grandson's.graduation it was the perfect spot. Nice outdoor chairs and a well appointed indoor lounging room. I would most stay here again

Could be sproced up in the room. Area. A extra lamp for the night stand sufficient space to to hand towels, gowns, pj's.

Good value and near the highway in Grinnell

Comfortable beds. Spacious room. Good breakfast with fresh fruit and yogurt and a decent variety of cereals, pastries. Yummy cookies available near the front desk. Choose a room, facing the back where there is a nice field.

Room was not clean. Clearly dirty floor in the bathroom. Rooms facing the parking lot on the first floor do not feel very private.

I would stay there again!

It was perfect. The queen suite was spacious & comfortable for my elderly parents. My king room was perfect.

The toilets were a little low for my elderly parents.

The staff were friendly.

The walls are quite thin - the walls were dark and dirty about toilet. The pull out bed was bad. There were no sheets or towels in room for it.

Friendly staff, pretty location, great for dogs

Very friendly and welcoming staff at check in, excellent location, and perfect facilities for traveling with my little dog. An unexpected surprise was the beautiful view of the Iowa farmland from my room window. Overall this little gym exceeded my expectations and I will stay there again if I am in the area.
