Located in Wilmington, this attractive house for £272 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Custom-built home, added in 1994 to the original mid-1800s residence. Whiteface Mountain just 5 minutes away and Lake Placid is 25 minutes by car. Close to High Peaks Region. Large kitchen, fireplace, screened-in porch, jacuzzi tub, grill, basketball court, fire-pit - your Adirondack base camp! --------- A unique and spacious custom-built home, added in 1994 to the original 1800's home overlooking the Jay Range in charming Upper Jay, NY. The original home was built by one of the town's oldest families and a local business man, Mr. Silas Prime, in the mid 1800's, with the garage/home addition added in 1994. My wife and I live on the property in the older original home which is completely separate from the rental home. This stately home is located 4 miles from Whiteface Mountain and 20 min from main street in Lake Placid. Surrounded by 100 foot white pines with rock garden landscaping and a children's playhouse, in addition to a large grassy area for a game of football or volleyball, it has a large blacktop basketball court that can be lit for nighttime games. The home offers comfortable sleeping arrangements for 6 adults. A unique feature of the home is that it is handicap ready with a fully functioning elevator in the garage taking you up to the 2500 square foot level of the home. Bathrooms are equipped with extra large pocket doorways and handicap railings. Some of the unique features include a large stocked galley kitchen with front load washer/dryer, granite counter-tops, skylights and a large hand cut granite fireplace with accompanying cathedral ceilings as part of the living room. The master suite has a large walk in closet and a private porch overlooking the flower garden. Master bath has a Jacuzzi tub with separate shower. Second private bedroom suite has large walk-in shower for easy access of wheelchair. Home includes three flat screen tv's, and all have basic cable. Microwave and built in desk adjacent to the kitchen. Water filtration system. Walk in pantry will provide ample space. A quiet hammock area and a large eat in screened back porch.Ceiling fans provided in all rooms of the home including the porch. Air conditioners are available in the bedrooms during the summer months. Sleeper sofa with a memory foam mattress. All linens provided. Gas grill is available. Outdoor fire pit with chairs. Internet/wireless internet available. Handyman service is available 24 hours a day for problems that may arise during your stay. Please, no smoking. Living in the Upper Jay area provides many local activities, including outlet shopping in historic Lake Placid, area hiking during all 4 seasons, rock climbing, fishing in world class trout streams, skiing/snowboarding, mountain biking trails and many other seasonal yearly events held at Whiteface Mountain. Also available is the opportunity for snowmobiling, ice climbing and the Olympic venues of bob sledding, ski jumping, luge, speed and figure skating and snow shoeing! Come relive the magic of the 1980 winter Olympics! Guest access Guests have access to all outdoor amenities including basketball court and fire pit. Oh my, how do I begin. An incredible home away from home. Rex and Cay greeted us and provided a walk through of the house, including some history. Everything and I mean everything and more was provided. So warm and cozy. We have traveled alot over the years and would have to say this is our favorite. Thank you so much Rex and Cay for sharing your incredibly beautiful place with us. What a joy to spend time there.

This was a wonderful place to stay to enjoy the area around Lake Placid but be far enough away from the crowds to enjoy the quiet beauty as well. Rex and Cay were great hosts. Loved the villages of Keene and Keene Valley. Great proximity to Whiteface Mt area as well.

The property is beautiful and the home is very cozy and has everything you need and more! The owners were very friendly and helpful. We forgot a few things for dinner and they were kind enough to lend from their own kitchen. Would definitely recommend!

We enjoyed our stay - perfect for our family trip to Lake Placid and surrounding area. Everything you could ever want - listing is very accurate. So clean and spacious and incredibly nice and responsive hosts. Loved watching the birds from the screen porch, wonderful soaker tub and very comfortable beds. Highly recommend.

Great location in the lake placid region of the Adirondacks. The house is beautiful and very well maintained. Plenty of room to hang out and well stocked kitchen and library.
The hosts are very friendly and attentive and located in the attached house. Despite having the hosts next door the place feels very private.
Great place as your base camp to explore the Adirondacks. Would recommend to families.

My husband & I have been going to Lake Placid for 30 years. This year, our son wanted to ski with two friends and stay near Whiteface. Parson Place is a perfect location for that. Only a 10-minute drive to Whiteface, we were very happy. Not only is Parson Place beautiful, it is impeccably maintained. The fireplace is a work of art. The fully stocked kitchen (minus dill weed) is state of the art. Loved it! The bedrooms, the library... everything was cozy yet very roomy. Cay & Rex are great hosts. They were just a phone call away and very attentive to our needs. Communication was efficient. The Village of Lake Placid is only 20-25 minutes away; stock up on groceries there since there are no major supermarkets near the house. Overall, we highly recommend staying at Parson Place. We really loved it.

Parson Place worked great for our family of five! The pretty property is roomy and comfortable, and its location was convenient to our plans--skiing Whiteface Mountain, visiting Olympic sites, and dining in Lake Placid. We made use of the well-stocked kitchen and enjoyed the large fireplace. The friendly owners gave us a tour upon arrival. I highly recommend this property.

We truly enjoyed our time at this house. The hosts were very kind and made us feel welcome. The house is beautiful, clean, and well stocked with games, puzzles, and kitchen essentials. We were able to enjoy a fire pit outside and roast marshmallows. We also had the fire place going inside a few nights. It was the perfect location for us as it was quiet and in the countryside, but close enough to Lake Placid if we wanted to do some shopping or eating out.

Rex and Cay made our rental experience very easy and straightforward. They were extremely hospitable and their home was absolutely beautiful. They made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed the entire stay. The location is great as well. I highly recommend this property!

Great stay!
We had a great stay at Rex and Cay’s house for our ski trip. It’s about a 7 minute drive to Whiteface MTN. Everything you need is at the house which is very well stocked with supplies for cooking and board games for entertainment. It’s about a 20 minute drive to Lake Placid town. Owners are on site if you need anything. Thank you Cay and Rex!

Roxbury was a gracious host. The house was perfect for our needs. Well equipped and close to ski mountain. Tranquil...watched, turkeys, birds and deer enjoy the property while enjoying a roaring fire and a huge tv.

Rex and Cay were super friendly and attentive hosts. The home has all the amenities needed and well stocked with basics you don’t have to spend extra on. A very comfortable and enjoyable place to stay. Would definitely stay again on our next ski trip to Whiteface.

Overall, a truly wonderful stay for our family!!

Great location and clean house
We had a great time. The kitchen is well stocked (great for cooking) and the accommodations with the house are amazing. Please keep in mind this house listing is ATTACHED apartment to the main house. We were under the impression this was a single house and not an attached apartment to the MAIN house (where the owners are living). There is no access to the heated garage (as listed). Otherwise everything else is as listed. I would also prefer to NOT have a tour of the house with the owner due to privacy.

A beautiful house, nicely decorated and everything you would need for your stay. Very quiet. Nice owners on property if any problems arise. The elevator is so useful bringing your stuff in and out. Would stay again if in the area.
