About this cabin rental
Welcome to our newly renovated & custom-built log cabin at the foot of Elder Mountain. Only 7 minutes away from downtown Chattanooga and the fast-growing Northshore. Chattanooga was home to the Iron Man in 2017 and has become an annual event space & home to of many concerts goers, river tourers, & many intellectual foodies. Enjoy hiking, fishing, swimming and much more not only in downtown but on our property too! Nestled in the little town of Lookout Valley, the cabin has its own private pond (private from public but members of our family may be there at times) and cookout area (public). We have two charcoal grills/smokers at the Cabin that are private to you and your family. Our hot tub is open year around & is right off our wrap around deck with easy house to spa access. It is especially pretty at night with the deck string lights shining on the tub! For those of you who are bringing young children, we have a kids corner that is made to feel at home. This cabin has newly purchased patio and indoor furniture and unique custom furniture built by the owner and from wood milled off the property. We can sleep anywhere from 2 to 11 and there is a large newly renovated den downstairs for games or movies. Enjoy special time with family or friends in this one-of-a-kind log cabin. Don't forget to ask about the heartwarming story behind the cabin. PLEASE BE ADVISED THIS CABIN IS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WOODS. WE ARE SURROUNDED BY NATURE.

This is actually our second time in this particular Cabin with Jason and his sister, Carey’s family Cabin and IT IS WONDERFUL! Our family comes here for our family Christmas as we bring ALL of our gifts and tons of food to have fun and celebrate together for 3 days! The only hard part - is leaving! So , until next year - - Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 2024

Our family came to Chattanooga for Christmas. It was my parents, ages 82 & 83, my daughter & her husband, my sister, her husband & son & their dogs, my husband and me. We lost my 58 year old brother 12/31/21 to a sudden, fatal stroke. My mother said she wanted to go away this year because last Christmas was too sad. Twysted Oak Lodge was perfect! Beautifully decorated for Christmas, so many homey touches and plenty of room for all of us. Jason & Carey have poured so much attention to detail into this beautiful home away from home. We used all the spaces, indoor, outdoor, the huge fire pit…... Thank you for sharing and making us feel so cared for and special!

We rented to celebrate the matriarch's 80th birthday. Loved the location- felt like we were deep in the mountains yet we were 15 minutes from Downtown. Best of both worlds! The cabin was charming and had obviously been recently renovated. The only "ding" was one of the doors on the lower floor were wonky and difficult to close, but we worked around it.

Perfect for our family. We enjoyed the pond, paddle boat and canoe so much. The weather was perfect. Cabin had plenty of room and a pretty well stocked kitchen for cooking. Hot tub was a plus and all of the great outdoor sitting. Great living room for after kids are in bed downstairs to watch a movie together or all just hang out.

This home was perfect for our annual family vacation. It was close to town for sightseeing yet far enough in the country for a relaxing time. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies. Plenty of games and toys for the grandkids to keep them busy. We actually fished in the pond and waded in the stream. We would definitely stay here again if ever in the Chattanooga area.

We had a great time at this property. Location is close to town and attractions. The property is remote and had plenty of space for all our family. Property manager was quick to respond to any questions we had. We would stay again when in the area.

Very homey, had plenty space. We had 12 people total. The inside could use minor repairs but absolutely nothing major. There was plenty of space for the little kids to run and play. The pond was great for the bigger kids. Enjoyed the fire pit. Location was awesome. Very off the road and that’s exactly what we wanted. We didn’t notice until way after our check in that we were short on wash clothes. Text the owner and we had wash clothes brought to us within mins.

Very comfortable, and relaxing!! We spent alot of time touring Chattanooga, and it was the perfect place to unwind in the evening. Definitely would love to come back!

We visited with 6 adults, 2 toddlers, and an infant. This cabin was perfect because each family had their own space and own bathroom. We loved the pond and the firepit, and the kitchen was well stocked for big family meals each night. The drive to town is convenient for visiting the attractions but we enjoyed our time by the firepit just as much.

Property was easy to locate and secluded, home was warmly decorated for Christmas and the amenities were more than we could have hoped for.

This is our second year staying here and we love it. So much room for family to move around and have a good time. Cabin was so cute for Christmas and got us ready to relax before a busy season. Owner has always been easy to communicate with. Our family will be back again!!

Good experience. Roads getting to cabin are rough. Not steep, but lots of holes in road. Cabin was nice.

Everything was as described except nothing can compare to actually sitting on the porch and looking out over the property. It was a wonderful cabin that provided everything we needed to enjoy spending time with family. We have a toddler and there were even toys to keep him busy when we were inside. Jason was attentive when needed and we would highly recommend staying here with your family if you’re looking for a cabin not too far from town. We stayed in November but could see this being just as fun and relaxing during the summer. We really enjoyed our time and are very thankful to have had a wonderful place to stay.

This space was perfect for our trip to Chattanooga for Ironman. Our kids loved being able to play, run outside and roast marshmallows, all things that would have been impossible had we stayed in a hotel. The cabin does need a little TLC (read: flooring) but everything was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Owners were extremely responsive and helpful. Highly recommend!

Birthday weekend
We had a great little getaway. Jason and his wife communicated easily and wanted to make sure our stay was fantastic. We loved being close to the city but still feeling like we were away in the mountains.

Lovely view. Well stocked kitchen.
The only thing I felt was missing was blankets for the bedrooms cause it was cold. There were plenty of throws in living room so we piled them on our bed.
Since we had some traveling to us the next day we told them to bring some blankets rather than contact host. But with all dealings with host I had no doubt we would have been accommodated with more blankets.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying here.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful cabin in the woods. It is a great value for the price! Lots of comfortable beds, clean and spacious bathrooms, and plenty of space for relaxing and playing games! Highly recommend for family and friends as a great space to gather!

Beautiful home! Great time had by all!
Jason and Carey’s log cabin is absolutely amazing, spotless and the perfect size for a relatively large family! There are also plenty of games for kids ages 2 and up!
Also, our family doesn’t get to celebrate our Christmas until into January so I asked Jason if he wouldn’t mind leaving up the Christmas tree for us and he actually left up ALL of their Christmas decorations which were absolutely gorgeous and all around their beautiful cabin!
Jason could not have been a better host and our family had a terrific Christmas!

Beautiful cabin in the woods!! We loved the quiet and a great place for a getaway.
The cabin was so festively decorated for Christmas. Our family had plenty of room and loved the two levels so that we could all spread out. We enjoyed the weekend so much we are planning another trip!! Cabin is located very close to Ruby Falls and a Walmart.

The lodge was great! My family and I really enjoyed the privacy/location of the lodge and the massive room that we had while staying in the lodge. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for space, convenience, and privacy as this is an all-in-one deal!

Parking was easier than any other race I have done. I came up with my Fiancé, and some friends. We all had an amazing time. I would love to come back and not have to worry about the race and just enjoy the cabin. Amazing place, easy to get to downtown Chattanooga, everything! Highly recommend and will always keep in mind if we come back! Thank you the the owners who offered an amazing experience!
